I just bought these earlier this week as my first set of studio monitors. I wanted a pair of KRK Rokit 5 monitors, but the PMO.4n were half the price. I'm no pro, but I find they work great for me and am happy I bought them.
read nothing but great reviews on these, these are perfect for home mixing, definitely would recommend these.
What would you recommend as a budget friendly, but good substitute?
If you had to choose between yours Yamaha's 50's ant these Fostex - Which one you'd prefer for home mixing? Pleas let me know as I am considering between them right now. Thanks!
Get yourself the big brothers of the Fostex which is the Fostex PM-1 MKII 6.5" Active Nearfield Studio Monitors and you would be happy through out life.
Best at this price point
What monitors would you recommend under $200 for home studio use?
@macmixingaudio I know but I am stretching myself at 300E already. It's definitively better to buy 80's rather than 50's and sub. My problem is I already bought monitors few years ago for about 400 and one died (8 inch). I have one left and I cannot buy second one (discontinued). Secondly I have enough of big speakers. I need something small, close to my head for mixing techno and electronica. Bass would be nice but I'm mixing mostly on mid and high tones and usually leave bass knob alone. KRK5?
Are these the same size as maudio av40s?? im desperate.
Wesley, i'm producer/musician too and im sorry, but i think you never heard these little Fostex. Lots of musicians are using these monitors in small rooms or for desktop quick productions out of the studio.
@LiveLimitlessTv Yeah. I heard that. It's actually 450 Euro which is stupid. It's better to save more and get better speakers altogether. KRK 5 seems to be better choice (more bass) but less accurate. I will go to shop and test them both.
I'm pretty sure that this video was recorded by an iPhone 4 :D
whats wrong with them??
@macmixingaudio Yeah. Too many people say the same. I think many people just went with hype on them. Even guy in DJ shop recommended them which is strange. Today guy in music shop said the same. I personally like Yamaha's more visually (and size) but mostly I trust their brand and peoples recommendations. I prefer accuracy rather than colored bass. I do not mix on bass anyway. I'll go with Yamaha's. Thanks for your replies. I appreciate that.
does sound like you know much .
no they are not. these are considerably smaller than av40s
Sorry but before you generalize try Fostex PM-2 MKII 6.5" Active Nearfield Studio Monitors before saying that.
could you make a vid playing some music?
like to hear the tonal quality.
thanks.

Behringer b1031a Truths. Great quality for price, A lot better than these.
they are only cheapies though...you don't get a Ferrari on a VW budget you know...
who cares what you are.. how about some credentials...?? because your a joke to us here @ MLE ... these monitors for there price range under 200 usd are the best there is... so how are they junk.. you get what you pay for... I would take those over any m audio, krk, behringer... shit any thing in there price range if I was a kid in a small room recording setup... so go pe eng someone else.. go do your own review showing this...
