Great video, Tracey. Really touched on a lot of points I had in my own head around posting to CZcams, Instagram etc. and particularly the motivations behind it. It really takes a lot to put yourself out there like this. I've definitely let my uploads slide over the past while but I've been wanting to get back into it. Our channels are obviously for very different audiences but there's a huge amount of similarities in our journey and I thought this was really interesting, so fair fucks to ya for posting it! You should have a few more subscribers in your numbers now between my various accounts 😉 Love to you and Hutchy and Murph ❤

Ah Bryan, thanks for your comment and for watching all the way through. In an odd sort of way, I find it easier to talk to a camera than people (far less complicated!), so it’s a way to connect but on my own terms. The classes are what I can give to others, but the vlogs are time capsule memories for myself. Very interesting to hear our motivations are the similar - wouldn’t be the first time our outlooks have aligned! Mind yourself 💚
PS thanks for the subs, I’ll get ye right back!

@@traceymacyogavlogs Yeah it's interesting - a camera isn't going to interrupt you or try to invalidate what you're saying. You don't have to juggle with processing your thoughts while simultaneously reading its facial expressions. And you can take your time and revise your speech before you put it out into the ether. Totally understandable that it's less daunting than the calamity that is social interaction 🤪 I often prefer texting over talking for similar reasons. I'm surprised my backspace key still works 😂
But yeah, glad I stumbled on your channel! I rarely watch vlogs but, aside from the fact that I know ya, I was interested in the content-creator aspect and your journey with seeking an autism diagnosis (I also watched your "burnout and autism" vid). I've had my own suspicions about whether I had it for a long time, but later came to the realisation that I actually have ADHD. Started self-diagnosing about a year and a half ago and finally got my official diagnosis in January. Still dealing with that revelation TBH, but I haven't dismissed the idea that I may still also be somewhat autistic. It's hard to know, because so many of the symptoms are comorbid. Regardless, for me, the ADHD is the first priority to try and "sort out" (for want of a better term). Once I have my head wrapped around that I may look again at autism if I'm still finding that there's interferences in my life.
Sitting here typing this, wondering whether I should be sharing this much personal info on such a public platform, but I'm taking a bit of inspiration from you here and thinking that it might help anyone else who is having similar problems. It's only because of people like you sharing their experiences that people like me have stumbled upon them and started to find answers to questions we've been asking our whole lives. Keep it up 💪

@@TheBigBryanMurphy dunno if it’s the right thing to say on getting a diagnosis, but congrats! I feel like a diagnosis can be the start of figuring everything out and getting the right kind of support. Not to mention how difficult it is to get in the first place. I would highly recommend Orion Kelly’s YT channel if you want to explore some interesting vids on autism and other neurodivergent topics.
You hit the nail on the head re talking to others - that constant juggle of trying to follow the conversation whilst process all the social cues and facial expressions. I only told a pal today that I can only really do 1:1 meet ups these days because more than that is too overwhelming. If it’s a big group, I need a drink!
Speaking up about our experiences is the only way to spread the word. Thanks for sharing yours. Enjoy the journey of figuring it all out 💚
