When I get the ambition I think I'm just going to get a different controller and a higher voltage battery and over volt the motor. I have to decide if it's worth it because 48v stock going up to 52v is going to get me around 22 to 27 mph I don't know if it's financially worth it. And going to 72 volt will give me a 50% increase in speed but also make the motor hot as hell. I'd have to lower the amps and that's more money invested in devices to tackle that issue. Anyways it's just something to think about at this point.

Update : Nice weather finally broke and it's 70° Fahrenheit. I did some extensive testing and took the bike out on a flat scenic bike trail that is paved. I'm using street tires at 50 PSI. I set P06 to 5-in tires and went wide open throttle... Sadly, I was only able to attain 22-23 MPH. I don't know if it's worth it to lose the odometer/ speedometer/ trip and then have to use an external app to gauge all that for 2-3 MPH. The motor is trying but it just can't do much more because it is after all only 300w. If it could go 25- 28 MPH, I would personally leave it in that mode. So I guess the jury is out and you can take it for what it is. Have a great day!😊

I think they should do more. ❤ upgrades on that park.

Thanks for sharing. Have you looked at the Amps reading on the display when you were going the 23mph? In stock configuration, mine maxes out at 16 Amp. I haven't tried what you've done yet, just curious.

It only got about that high on the bike's display from a standing stop. And that was just for a hot second.
looking back , don't think it was worth the effort to make the video since the amount of speed is pretty much unnoticeable. I've tried it a couple more times since then on " seemingly" flat paved ground... and I get readings from 21-23. But nothing steady. The only difference I really can tell is at 20 mph on an external app, when you normally hear the motor cut off, you can hear it still working. in fact it just keeps running the whole time . The motor just doesn't have it in it to go any faster with weight on board. I'm 195 lb so I shouldn't slow it down that much. I just don't think this motor has anything left after 20 unless someone else can find it. lastly, to be fair I do have two more 10ah batteries in parallel on the bike since this video which adds about 10 more pounds not that it really makes much difference. maybe a different controller /display setup may squeak out a little more speed. but then you're at the point where you got to question if it's even worth the time and expense versus just getting a different bike. ✌️
update: I found a vague entry on a New Zealand website. that a 300-watt motor is 0.4 horsepower, so even if you override the factory settings to 40km/hour, a 300-watt motor will still reach its maximum assistance at around 35km/hour. which comes out to drum roll.... 21 mph 😢

@@BrettWoodBiking thanks for all the info! I'll try it in the near future just to see, but probably won't keep it that way. Would probably just drain the battery a little quicker for not much gain in speed. If I do, I'll update you with the results.

My xp lite fell over and smashed the display. Put an aftermarket on and it now goes 25 mph except when I sit my big butt on there only 21 mph because of the limits of the 300 watt motor. Maybe if I can lose 25lbs.🤔

      Interesting 🤔. 21 is better than 20, unless it's pounds 😂
