Just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. I know it took quite a bit of time. I appreciate you sharing.
Thank you for the kind words my friend!
The video I was hoping to find. Nice comparision, impressive video.
No problem! Sorry about the sound quality. This was one of my early videos
Good tests! Not surprised that the top speeds were similar. The top speed is determined by the motor's RPM per volt rating, and since the Wired battery is not in top shape, the voltage under load is probably down a few volts. Amps are a primary factor in torque, so I'm not surprised the Wired had better acceleration. It may not make a big difference in normal riding, but hill climbing is where torque shines.
The battery was fine. Fully charged.
When doing test runs ...the one with the higher Voltage will always stay on top...when the 72v comes out...I'm sure it will also be similar to the 60v speed but will slightly be higher. Nice side by side comparison video!
Nice comparison. Weighing each bike may reveal the performance differences.
Fantastic comparison video! Subbed!
Thank you my friend
👍🏼 Very good comparison and editing. You obviously have some time and talent involved to create this video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Terrific video. I almost bought the Kepler, but got the Wicked and glad I did. I have a hill that only my Stealth Bomber will go up and I have 4 other ebikes. My 48v, 1000w can't make it up halfway. The Wicked is my favorite of all them. It's so light to go and do so much. Thanks for the comparison. 👍
How many watts is your bomber? How does it compare to your wicked?
@@maximumchargeEV the Bomber is a 72v, 12,000w. It has crazy torque. There is nothing it can't climb. It has a 45ah battery. I drive it primarily on back roads, but at motorcycle speeds (50-60mph). But, it's heavy. I got the q273 with 5 turns. Wished I had gotten 205 motor.
@taknmyshot I was thinking (and still am) of getting one of those. I just hate how the battery isn't easily removable and it looks so much like a dirt bike, which isn't ideal for police attention.
@@maximumchargeEV I ride into the city all the time and pass police all the time and never been pulled over, but I'm always pedaling. I have been pulled over twice on an electric scooter. I was always in the bike lane going 18mph. One of the times two police got me. It looked like a drug bust. I didn't get a ticket, but one would think police would have better things to do.
@@maximumchargeEV How much does the wired/wicked one weight compared to the kepler?
Thx for this video. This is what I was looking for in the comparison of these two ebikes. Very well done and very helpful.
I figured it's exactly what people wanted to know. Overall speed and hill climbing ability. Never before have people compared these bikes directly to one another in one video.
Your video make me decide which one will be my first E bike for sure is the wired E bike thank you for the video 👍
You're gonna be happy with your choice!
@@maximumchargeEV what about ecell 5 star??
@@gmaster716 this video was created about a year before the ecells fivestar bike was even announced lol
Yeah thanks for the comparison vid these are the main bikes that I was considering buying .
Glad to Hear! I might make another one.
Love the upright sitting position and handlebars plus rear suspension on the wired . I have a himiway cruiser which is basically like the kepler except slower so I'm buying the wired !
Good call!
I hate my Himiway cruisers! It's so damn slow...and I'm stuck with two of them.😮💨
check out the Philodo H8 AWD 35 plus mph 164NM torque, cruise control $1800 delivered no tax no shipping 7 days in USA I did extencive research and my choice was the Wired, The Kepler or the philodo The philodo won by far!!
@@kelly-gk8ov Great recommendation but we need full suspension!!
A win is a win & that Cruiser has been beat on. I just got my new Cruiser yesterday & for the extra couple hundred bucks its way worth it. Cruiser also has steel reinforced gears in the hub motor that will last alot longer overall. Many people are having to oil the Kepler hub motors way early so keep a ear out for the noise. Enjoy The Ride.
😎👍
Hadn't watched til the end when I typed the above. That Cruiser 100NM of torque is a BEAST on the hill climbing. 😂 Kepler can't even beat it with a running start. 🤣 Definitely worth a couple hundred more. I researched for a month & the Cruiser is the best bang for the buck out right now. Great customer service too I might add. Text them thru the website & a human responds within a few minutes. During business hours of course. Great people. 😎👍
@@vanlifebikergood info, thanks!
@@ronb9901 Yes sir
You can put hybrid gears in the Kepler as well. I just put some in my Hyperscrambler 2 and also my Himiway cruiser.
Great video. Fun to watch. I'm missing something because I have a kit that I put on a mountain bike 52v. It would accelerate hard going up those hills. What am I missing? Do they limit power output of pre-made e-bikes? What wattage is the motor rated at? Thanks, I'm still learning about all this-bike stuff
It might have been a controller tune. it's too bad.
Nice comparison video 👏🏽 this video is for sure "Mr. Throttle Only" approved 🤣👍🏽
Hell yeah!
In the world of recent e-bikes, 3 mph is a notable difference.
3 mph is a notable difference full stop on any ebike.
Its a noticable difference, 10% of speed
@@danimayb it’s not noticeable on the top range..31 or 34..same shit
I ordered the wired bike.
Part of my 10 mile commute to work involves 5 miles of mtb/gravel trails with some steep hills. I chose it because of that torque to take a large man (220 ibs) up the hill.
PS. Great video. Thank you.
Great!
What app are you using on your phone to track speed?
I have the Kepler (just came today) and I can't wait to try it out.
Just a basic free speedometer app from the app store
Love both bikes we need them in Australia 🇦🇺 thanks I'd have a wired bike just on that big arse battery alone bloody brilliant bike cheers
A test to do with pedal assistance is to see what speed each setting goes, and how the gears pair with the settings.
As an example, my 72v 3000w is 5mph, 8 mph, 14mph, 24mph, 28, 30, 40... i can only pedal to 20 mph with my 48f 14r so pedal assist 3 at 14 is the last usable one.
Wow HUGE difference up hill. I didnt notice if both batteries were around the same volt
About the same! Wired gives you way more power off the line than the kepler due to controller programming
What's the hub motor on each..plus what's the battery size n the controller on each..thats makes the difference..it nice ta know thanks good video 😊
Kepler has a bafang g063 and the wired has a hengtai motor, not sure of the model number. Kepler has 35amp controller, wired 40. Kepler is 1000 watt hours, wired is 1200.
@@maximumchargeEV thanks 4 the reply
Wired is located not far from me and I have emailed them to do a test ride. Based on your test, it's the Wired for me as I have a couple nasty hills here. My Lectric 3.0 will only make it up with pedaling PAS 5 and first gear. I have some orthopedic issues where I need to keep pedaling to a minimum.
Wired bike will destroy the lectric on hills.
Good test man
Thanks!
Lookn' forward 2 your future vid. ..sometime next yr " Wired Cruiser 72 volt upgrade " & larger charge controller...max speed test...guessn' 50+ ⭐
I decided to stick with 60v because I would be too expensive to upgrade everything to 72v... BUT I am Doing a shunt mod to the controller which will give the 60v system more power.
@maximumchargeEV I want to do the shunt mod to my wired. Have you done it and how much did it help?
The rated watts of the motors and the amps of the controllers and batteries will explain it all. Would prefer the 60v bike but that would depend on the ah and continuous rating of the battery. More technical info should have been provided in this video.
Dual motors are a must if you live in the hills or mountains if you don't want to pedal at all. I have a dual motor diy ebike with a 1000w dd in front with a 60v battery and a 30 amp controller and in back a 1000w geared with a 52v and 30a controller. I can only do 40 mph and am not pushing the battery output. But I am heavy and so is the bike with 2 batteries and all my accessories added. I live in an area with 45 degree mountain roads and I can do 25 from a stop up the hills. No pedaling. The 60v battery lasts longer drawing the same amps as the 52. Both are 30amp continuous and 20ah. I normally use both motors to accelerate fast and cruise with the front dd motor as there is minimal drag from the geared motor when being pulled as opposed to pushing against a dd that has more drag not under power.
Hey! Yes this was one of my earlier videos, I'm definitely better at presenting the technical aspects of the bike better nowadays. I could actually use your help since you've built the dual motor setup and I'm trying to do that for my wired cruiser. Can you email me using the email in the about section or at the top of the channel?
Main points:
- Grips move/rotate while riding
- Connections to the display is hokey. Connectors too close to handlebars
- Derailer skips when it's in gears 6, 7
- Front forks seem cheap. And can't adjust them to get it right.
- Seat not comfortable (recommends a Cloud Nine seat)
- Throttle too sensitive. Jolts. Not enough control over the speed. And it changes even tho you are keeping it still.
- Odometer not accurate
- Battery discharge percentage not accurate
- Plastic fenders are rattly and cheap
- Chain vibrates and rattles when going over small bumps.
But the speed, he says, is awesome. Great value for the money.
Looking into both of these bikes.. i am 6' 6''. so i am assuming the Kepler would be better for me? Do you agree? Thanks!
Both would be great
What's the stand over height on that Wicked/Wired?
I'll have to measure again but the cruiser is a good 3 inches lower than the step thru of the kepler
Thank you for comparisons as I am seriously looking at both bikes because of battery voltage levels, amp hour and controllers with Wired running a more robust system at 62v on its somewhat unknown Hengtai motor and Ariel a 52v system with the solid Bafang. Sadly, Wired changed from May to August shipping and then no telling after that. I like the idea of Wired's dual suspension. Can't see battery level at beginning of hill climb tests. Were hill climbs after all the other tests?
Hill climbs were after the other tests yes. I will be doing a part 2 to this video soon.
The torque is what you want for hills in my area . 30 to 35 mph top speed good enough for me. Wired is the easy choice
Amen
Getting my kepler tomorrow....i hope at least. If i got a bike in the future desides a kepler it would be a freedom or a dual motor/moped style but with the wired being on pre order and being 2k before tax and shipping i went with the kepler for just over 1800.
The kepler is an excellent bike, you'll love it. You're right the wired is expensive after shipping and taxes. Dual motor ebikes are super heavy. I've owned all three types and the kepler is such a well balanced all around ebike.
I’d probably have to know a little more background on both bikes and batteries before making a judgement. You mentioned that the Wired bike was neglected. Hard to say what effect that might have had.
True
Assuming the battery of the wired was stored properly, how many miles did it have on it. ?
About 147 miles on it.
@@maximumchargeEV so mostly like new✌
@@kevinnashskitchen3517 it was purchased new in January
@@maximumchargeEV I figured as much.. Nice..👏
It would be interesting to know how much battery percentage each bike lost during the test. As well as a delivered new price comparison.
Kepler has free shipping which saves between 150-200 dollars
I ordered my Kepler last July and got it about 5 weeks later, in August. It was $1799 but they gave me a $100 veterans discount. No shipping or sales tax. So I paid $1699 and then my health insurance gave me a $400 check for buying something they considered healthy.
$1299 all together. Not bad.
@@garyderoy I had no idea health insurance could do that! Something everyone should look into
Well. The extra $300 and change for a Wired to be delivered at $100 more price might be ok. Step through and battery is better to me. But I'm not bummed out I got a Kepler mid step at all✌We shall find out in this next season or 2 which one falls apart faster 😂
Both bikes are excellent
I am a big guy, with normal riding, some peddling what is the distance difference between the two on flat ground
The Wired ebike has a bigger batter so going the same speed as the kepler the Wired would go further. 1200 watt hours on the wired vs 1000 on the kepler.
@@maximumchargeEV Wasn't sure if the more powerful motor would pull on the battery more and make it worse
@@1jet55 the only difference would be due to some efficiency difference, but you would need to test that with electrical equipment.
How much battery did each one use ?
Great question. I just got my Cruiser yesterday & I'm curious how it stacks up to the Rad 6 plus. We'll see & I will share in my videos in the future. FYI Bars are not a accurate measurement truly on a apples to apples comparison. Enjoy The Ride.
😎👍
about 10-15%
I would have to know more about the bikes.. I live in Colorado where there are Mountains so the more torque the better.. I do prefer flatter trails but it is nice to get out of the city.. I would also want something that pedals pretty good.. Has to be comfortable..
Unless those mountains Involve steep technical off roading, the wired freedom will be perfect for you.
How much does the wired/wicked one weight?
About the same as the kepler. Somewhere around 80 pounds
Still wondering why Ariel rider has not made a dual motor Kepler yet.. I have personally think it’s crazy that they haven’t done it
That would be incredible!!+!
I love the wired from wicked to wired nice name good ebike I'd love to know the price
$1999
Sometimes the throttle response is low on power and sometimes its stronger, idk why. Maybe the weather. Even at 75% plus battery the wicked cruiser goes slower sometimes but only by a small amount. But im glad the power of wicked is way more. I paid decent amount more then the kepler so it better be stronger 😅
Wicked is very good on hills, which is where it counts the most
Why is the Wired missing the rear suspension? Looks really bad compared to the others I've seen
It's their cruiser step thru model. Their freedom model has the suspention.
Your sound quality has come a long way lol
Tell me about it. I recorded all my early videos with my smart phone mounted to my chest, and later a crappy purple panda mic. The dji wireless mic is so much better sounding. Worth every penny. I tried a dji action 2 and the mics on that sounded like Megatrons voice. I use the insta 360 x3 with the dji mic setup. Still need a drone to follow me around like your shots!
Sadly I think once videos are monetized you are supposed to get a drone license. Not sure how much that is enforced but it sounds like a pain. @@maximumchargeEV

@@shootthechit even for the smaller drones?
what bike is taller seat to ground
I think the Wired is slightly taller but I'm not 100% sure
The Ariel is 1/3 cheaper. Ariel is $1800 with FL tax (free shipping) whereas the Wired Freedom is $600 more -- $2406 with shipping and tax. Same bike but with the following differences:
(A) Wired Freedom has DNM rear suspension
(B) Wired has a 60V 20AH battery vs 52V 20AH battery for the Ariel.
(C) Wired hub is 138 nm torque and 1500W vs Ariel 108 nm and 1000W
(D) Ariel has rear integrated brake light with directional blinkers. Wired I thinkjonly has rear brake light, no directionals
I wonder how these two compare on the beach. Do you think the Wired will perform significantly better through thick sand? the Kepler seems to have better resistance to splashing water. The Wired seems like the charge controller is very close to the ground and will get wet easier.
Yes the kepler's controller is potted so it's virtually water proof!
@@maximumchargeEV Do you know if the Wired Freedom's controller is potted? As good as the Ariel ?
@pompanomike8704 no its not potted but because of that I was able to do a Shunt Mod to it. I will say this, the controller mounting on the ecells is way better. It has airflow and helps a lot with preventing overheating where the wired freedoms controller is sealed up in a plastic case where it bakes and gets no airflow.
The crazy thing is I bet you could slap a 60a controller in there and get an extra 1000w. For additional torque ofc, its scairy to think this bike reaching the 50's
would love to see someone do that! Maybe someone will shunt mod the controllers.
I'm buying a Kepler, only because I can get one now. Wired bikes have a pre-order and can't get one until November.
We all make choices!
@maximumchargeEV my choice is, I want one now. I live Seattle, so November really doesn't work well for me. I wonder how many sales Wired loses because of delays. And shipping charges.
@@scottdykema5385 who knows! Enjoy the kepler! It's a great bike. I have only good things to say about it.
good vid.......seems to me the wired outperformed the Kep...all was not completely equal, either.....beat up Wired and rolling head start for Kep....pretty close, though.
Not totally equal except for the first tests. Wired has more low end torque and overall will go about 3mph faster In most cases
Were both bikes power restrictions unlocked?
Yes of course
Yuppers safety first....
Hold MY BEER....LOL
😀
Keplar is better known brand at the time
Totally agree
grade of the hill?
Not sure
Kepler is probably better option cash wise 😅 I bought the wicked Cruiser.
Oh yeah for sure. To the door the Wired bike for me is 2300. I got the kepler for 1800 after taxes and free shipping.
i think i missed it. how much do you weigh?
200lbs
The Wired is probably geared a bit lower in the hub and I'm sure 60v helps some.
OK, so, I'm not suggesting you try this, but, if you opened up the Kepler settings and changed the controller from 33A to 40A I bet you could hit 41.8 mph on a level road. You'd probably also notice a fast drop in battery %.
I'm just guessing, of course.
I replaced the freewheel to match the kepler so the gearing was the same. I took the variable of the gearing out of the tests because everyone has different pedal abilities anyway, and some people change their gears too. Also, I'm not sure if changing the amps in the settings would do anything, or even work since the battery Bms might be the limiting factor. I have however seen people run 72v and 3000+ watts through the same motor as the kepler and it flies up to 50mph. The motor could handle more power.
@@maximumchargeEV
I meant the internal hub gearing. I doubt that can be changed. I mean, you can replace the planetary gears but I don't think you can change the size.
@Gary DeRoy oh I see. I did actually take this motor apart so there will be a video soon showing the metal reinforced gears. Not sure if they sell different sized gears but that would be a cool mod! Not that hard to do either.
@Maximum Charge
I'm sure they did their research before reinforcing the gears. As long as they're softer than the spur gear (I guess the gear along the inside of the hub is the spur) it should be OK. You can't replace the spur. You always want the planetary or pinion gears to wear out.
Anyway, I'm sure there are differences in the rake angle of the fork etc. How does the Wired feel as far as stability or maneuverability go?
@Gary DeRoy the Wired Cruiser is much easier to stand over as the clearance is way more than the kepler step through. The handling is about the same I would say.
Is this the production model?
Yes
If the Wired is close in price it a no brainier. It's 15% faster stronger on the hill climb more torque it beats the other bike all the way
It's a beast!
I think the Wired out preformed. It's older and beat.
You sir would be correct. Wired does better on hills and off the line.
Not sure about old and beat up. They just came out with the bike like 3 months prior to him getting one.
Glad it is faster-Kepler website at least has parts, contact US. Wired no parts listed, no contact listed, no direct costumer contact info. Why is That?
I think they are still suffering from being a new company, trying to keep overhead costs low while trying to grow. Hopefully all of that will improve
I would remove the sound too, knowing how terribly loud these bikes are

Torque from zero and better hill climbing are more important to me than top end speed.
Wired ebike it is!
Here is the most important difference between them. Wired customer service is A+ and Ariel is a big fat F! Don’t believe me, do your research..
Wired does indeed have the best customer service!
Why do you ride so many fat tire bikes when obviously the vast majority of your riding is done on hard smooth surfaces? Under those conditions, there's no advantage. If you're so concerned with top speed a fat tire bike isn't the way to go. Of course, you're still playing with hub motor ebikes.
I've only just started ebiking last year. Sorry I don't have a huge collection of ebikes yet. They only seem to make high powered ebikes with fat tires these days, but as you know roads are not 100% smooth and fat tires do have their advantages. I'm sensing some anger in your comment friend...
@@maximumchargeEV Ok, it's not anger just confusion, and a "collection of ebikes" is the exact opposite of what I recommend to potential ebike owners let alone a "huge collection". Anyone that has a stable of bikes isn't doing it because they ride them a lot. If you do it right and do your research you don't have to waste money on low-end ebike after low-end ebike hoping to find something that doesn't need to be replaced because it's, well... a low-end ebike. The only reason fat tire bikes have come into vogue is that a very few riders take them into areas that have soft surfaces where they actually shine, the beach or snow, the vast majority ride them like you are here. Fat bikes are all one-trick ponies, it's not because they offer a better ride overall, they don't. I'm also confused about what you mean by "high power"... is that voltage or amperage, are you talking about newton meters of torque? In this video, you "compared two of the fastest fat tire ebikes" which is very much an oxymoron.
Let me put it in perspective for you, I've owned and ridden the same ebike for the past 7 years and have ridden over 42K miles on her over every type of terrain. 1000W mid-drive or 1.34 h.p., 160Nm of torque, 2058Wh lithium packs that let me easily cover over 100 miles on smooth hard level surfaces like you're riding in the video. A *realistic* 100-mile range on a single battery. I've ridden at 47 mph as a speed test and I'm here to tell you it's stupid moving that fast on a bicycle, and my bike is geared to climb not run. Moving fast isn't difficult with a motor it's all about gearing that's why production ebikes are limited. If you want to "ride fast", especially in traffic buy an electric motorcycle that is built for speed.
Large lumbering bouncing tires with massive rolling resistance aren't a replacement for a suspension... "as you know roads are not 100% smooth and fat tires do have their advantages." The one advantage of fat tires is riding on soft surfaces, they're an impediment to riding on roads by cutting your range in half whether the bike has a rear shock or not. That's why fast road bikes all have narrow wheel sets. You also must know that no hub-motored bike can climb worth a crap in comparison to a mid-drive that applies all the torque to the bike's gears. I saw a new ebike that stated on their web the bike shouldn't climb over a 10-degree hill... how stupid is that? My driveway is steeper than 10 degrees.
Do you know what the original definition of an ebike is or where it came from? Back before California started the 3 class tiered system? *"The Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA) amended its definition of e-bikes in 2002 through HB 727, a law enacted by Congress. CPSA defines low-speed electric bicycles (LSEB) as two or three-wheeled vehicles with fully operable pedals, top speeds under 20 mph on the motor only (32 km/h), and electric motors that produce less than 750 watts."* Being able to comply with those limits means you can ride the ebike anywhere in America where bicycles are allowed. A Class-1 ebike by law isn't even considered a motorized vehicle as strange as that seems. If you actually read through this whole comment you might be able to understand my confusion in comparing the top speed and hill-climbing abilities of ebikes that are inferior in both those areas.
I understand the CZcams trash that will recommend anything with an affiliate link like snake oil salesmen, none of which have any integrity whatsoever, but you don't seem to be doing that. If you really want a great ebike, or just a fast ebike, or one that can climb like a goat it's not hard. Where it starts to get difficult is having a bike that is reasonably good at all of them and you will never find that in some low-end internet sales wonder.
This is what I've been riding. - photos.app.goo.gl/ADgC6oyPM2gyrCq27
Stay safe.
@@brianbassett4379 You have no common sense on safety for yourself or other pedestrians while driving your bike in the pictures. 40+ pounds of crap on your bike make it totally unsafe. What if a car suddenly pulls out unexpectedly in front of you? Ebikes were never designed to replace a camper. Have a good day!
@@maximumchargeEV What's the matter, Pumpkin? Did you think you could just say things and they would turn out to be true? You create ALTs to back up the incorrect things you say and then delete responses that call you out? Get a grip. You don't have a clue.
@@brianbassett4379 I wonder the same thing with these videos, almost all of these fat tire ebike videos show dudes riding on smooth paved roads only, nobody actually takes them in the woods or tests them on rough terrain which makes the concept of a fat tire ebike seem so pointless to me. I can't tell if people are just afraid to go off road or the bikes simply can't handle it
I'd still pick the Aniioki 8 pro max or a Eahora Juliet or Romao.
All three e bikes come with a 48 volt 60 amp battery that will blow both of these bike out of the water...
I see what your saying but... I can always buy a second, even a third battery.. I can't buy more top speed and acceleration in the same way

wired freedom more money so Kepler 52V is my choice power the same
Power is definitely not the same but both bikes are great. It all depends on your budget and what you value

Ive got a philodo H8 AWD I would beat both of them , top speed , hill climing, and range 22AH battery and the price was $1700 delivered no tax no shipping came in 7 days
Top speed the Wired is king. Volts is what matters for top speed. For climbing yes dual motors is better
