Haha it was great. He should probably be thanking Rees though. Tons of restoration work for Gil's team based upon terrible Rees Jones work in the '80s and '90s
Was a member in the 80’s and the course now is a real blast to play!
SF Club, Cal Club, Olympic, Lake Merced, Harding Park. All amazing courses all in such a small area. Just down the rode in the Peninsula there are some pretty good ones as well.

Played sfgc the other day with a long time member and asked him about lake Merced while we were standing on the first green, I pointed to it. He was amazed we could so easily see it. He hadn’t noticed. Ha!

Looks like a better US Open venue than LACG
I really dislike the fake manipulated bunkers with a zillion fingers and curves. Too many look like gingerbread creations that add nothing to the golf experience.
