This is a breathe of fresh air for me as a Vancouver fan. Ever since this was linked it’s been associated with our AHL team, but to see people outside of Vancouver see the jersey more objectively without knowing about the Abbotsford Canucks makes me smile.

For me blues have done great for both reverse retro jerseys by actually flipping colors on old jersey even if they look weird like the red ones from last year.

I really like how the Lightning logo looks. The number font looks very unique and I think that despite all the craziness going on in the jersey, it all fits well together ESPECIALLY with the original logo!
The writer at ESPN disagrees, haha. “Whatever Lightning player feigns excitement the most for these monstrosities should win the Lady Byng, full stop”.

The Vegas one has some cool historical notes too: the font on the front is the same as the Excalibur, and the numbers are in the font the old Stardust hotel had on its signage, so nice little nod to Vegas history there. Does kinda look like the one Vancouver one from a long time ago tho

Yeah, I actually think that the Vegas jersey is one of the best of the bunch. No idea why they hated on it so much. Was kind of disappointing honestly.
And by the way, it's frigging glow in the dark to signifies the neon signs in Vegas. I think they understood the assignment too. I wish it could be their next third jersey honestly

As a Blues fan, I love that my team understood the assignment both years - Red background last time, yellow this time, a little ugly, but still very interesting! The Blues know their normal jerseys and their powder blue Winter Classic Alternates look clean, so let's get a couple dirty ones out there for those who like it

@@mvk4343 yeah, ugly isn't the right word, I'd say more funky - what I'd really mean is a jersey I wouldn't want as a primary, where as if we swapped to the light blue alternate as our home and last year's WC as our away, I'd be cool with that, but swapping home and away to this design would be too weird imo

I get the criticism for the Sabres jersey, but with their alternate still to come out that is already black and red, it's kind of tough to release something too close to that color/design wise. I think this gives it a nice variety in between the alternate-to-come and the current away/home jerseys.
Eh, I think it would have been nice for fans to have a home and away set of the angry goat head. Seems like the perfect opportunity.
I know the goat head jersey would look better as an away jersey but yeah it makes sense with the red and black coming. I personally think with all 4 of the Sabres jerseys out this year, it’s collaboratively a huge W

Use the dark colors rather than white (since they used the white template for the previous RR)
As a leaf fa this is exactly what I have wanted as an alternate sweater. A blue version of their 2000-2011 alternate.
Original 6 teams should keep things simple and classic and that's what they've done.

My other favourite is the white version of the Kings' yellow-gold and purple/Forum blue. The classic crown looks great on white. Could've gone with that look when Gretzky arrived in '88.⚪💛💜👑

Really makes you wonder why they didn't use it as their home when they changed the logo in 1992. The black one with the text is nice, but this is much better
as a seattle fan i am extremely satisfied with this jersey! I think it was good they went with something simple for their first new jersey.

Because detroit has only 2 colors and very few jerseys to choose from while chicago has a ton of jerseys to choose from and multiple colors.

I'm an Isles fan too. I was 15 when they first introduced the fisherman, and I've hated it ever since....until about a year ago. The idea of bringing back made it kinda grow on me. But this RR, really drops the ball on it. It needs more teal, and the diagonal strips really suck

10:05 the next biggest school is Cincinnati, but the thing that especially would make Ohio State endeared to Blue Jackets fans is the fact that both teams are from Columbus
And sometimes Ohio State Men's Hockey plays at Nationwide pending if The Schott has basketball or it's against the team up north.

Ohioan here. A lot of people in Columbus LOVE Ohio State, even if they didn't go to school there. But there are a good chunk of people who don't like the Buckeyes. And Miami is the University name, The town it's in is called Oxford.
Canucks fan here; didn't know about the offset number on the chest being inspired by history and agreed that the colors look nice, but I like the Screaming Eagle #1

The Kansas City Scouts had those colours too, they just kept the same colour scheme when moving to Colorado.

I think the Devils jersey is also a call back to the Kansas City Scouts too since those are the original colors from the 1972-73 season.
The Canes jersey is meant to also throwback to our cup winning season and now. It's a healthy mix

Putting the Habs with that very lazy Leafs jersey when they said they were rewarding creativity says a lot about their bias against Montreal. They even considered putting it in D while the Jets have a very ordinary concept. Ridiculous.

I was so, so excited when I heard they were gonna go with an Expos look few months ago, and I'm so disappointed that they just reused their regular layout instead of diving all-in in Expos look. I would have loved red and white racing stripes coming down the sleeves like the Expos did. Here, it looks weird how there's no red at all on the jersey aside from the logo

I honestly really like the Chicago jersey as it really honors their history and the letters pop as well as the kraken jersey (even though there were some missed opportunities they still nailed the color palate and design
Yeah I think the same of the red wings one. First time I can remember them having black on a jersey and it helps the numbers pop.
Fair on the Kraken jersey, was inspired by the design from the Seattle Ironmen in the PCHL so it is actually retro. Would have liked to see a vintage style S logo or the anchor instead but overall still solid.
Would’ve been better if we went with a Metropolitans inspired look

For something a little different, I’d like to see the Jets incorporate their colours into the Atlanta thrashers jerseys. Kind of like the way the sharks implemented the Golden Seals logo into their reverse retro
Best jersey is the Tampa Bay Lightning. The fact that the shoulders are grey for the clouds and the bottom is blue for the water with a storm in the middle. Flawless.

This is the best tier list I've seen so far. My only disagreements are I'd put NJ in A, Philly and Colorado in B, Toronto and Carolina in C and Detroit in Delete this and nothing in Best. St.louis jersey is fire and am shocked how low it is in everyone else's tier list, the Font and color in the lettering really pops and looks great.

I personally just think it's super boring and I'm not a huge fan of black and red color scheme on hockey jerseys in general but if you do it I can dig like bright vibrant red or crisp white as the primary for teams using black/red/white. This RR is a mehh red, with too much black on the front with strange striping

@@Aidian1 I sort of get you , I am also not a fan of black and red jerseys (except the senator's home ) , but I think Detroit didn't have a lot of opportunities here. They could have gone for the gothic D jersey in white (Idk if that ever existed) or the Detroit Falcons Sweater in yellow... *Realises ... So they did have better options. I have just lost the argument to myself. Nevermind introducing black was a bad move.
