About 1969 one hot summer night I was out as a youngster roaming the street… And older guy by three years was in MJ older sisters class.. I never forget in a rather excited voice he said, ‘ Have you heard the group Chicago? I said no. Then he broke out with ‘ Does anybody know what time it is? Does anybody care? ‘ I went man I don’t know about that.. So he went on the say that’s the new group called Chicago.. Years later I was in college and I developed an appreciation for all types of music. And I bought their album Chicago Transist Authority on eight track.. I played it over and over. The horns is the first thing I noticed than the bass and the percussion.. Then in the Summer of 2009 I had the chance to see them at the Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheater with Earth Wind and Fire.I don’t have to tell you that was the greatest concert I’ve ever been to.. It was truly amazing.. LB November 2021
I saw Chicago in Noblesville 2021 July 23rd, and it was the best concert I've ever been to they were really awesome even though they had some years on them you couldn't have known it one bit they're great!
Chicago Transit Authority or " Chicago" ( the original 1970's line---up or band mates or band members) is: The legendary Robert Lamm---lead vocals, rhythm guitar and keyboards the incredible Peter Cetera---lead vocals and bass guitar the gifted and late Terry Alan Kath---lead vocals and lead guitar the amazing Danny Seraphine---drums and percussion the great Jimmy Pankow---trombone the "one of a kind" Walter Parazaider---saxophone,flute and clarinet and the talented Lee Loughnane---trumpet
I WAS a big fan of James Pankow for decades and as time rolled on evidently his head grew just how special he thinks he is as I have watched his later interviews and performances.
Saw them 50 years ago and they rocked the arena for 3 hours. As good a group of musicians as I ever saw. Terry Kath was incredible.
I am 73 years old.
