He’ll probably end up at Souths. His mentality of ‘do as little as possible while earning triple my value’ would mesh well with the shot callers at Souths.
Haha that would be awesome plus lomax
@@rossrickards7990haha lomax a complete nobody who we only know of because he is a cry baby and it gets media coverage
Not if Mal is coach.
Mate you don’t know what these fellas go through, mental health is also exposed to them. If I were you I’ll just seal me mouth, stay seated on your couch, watch this bloke on TV and continue to twitch your fingers on your phone 🤦🏽♂️
@@haytch9623 Why do you bring his mental health into it? He signed a contract that takes him through to 2027 for $800,000 per season. The bloke hasn't cracked first grade this season because there a better players than him at Manly and he was dropped to reserve grade and give the opportunity to sort it out. All the while, whilst playing reserve grade, his contract for $800,000 per season still stands. By some accounts, he has been sulking about playing reserve grade. You can play into the emotive side of the game all you want. But the fact stands that him not playing playing first grade is entirely performance based. A fact that I would imagine he himself is fully aware of.
Sea Eagles bosses have reportedly included a performance clause in Josh Schuster’s contract that has saved them from having to pay the $2.4 million remaining on his deal. All players should have a performance based clause! Some players just look at the $$$ and forget about earning it!
Smart by Manly putting that in the contract. It proves they know he was 50/50 at best. Good teams have these standards. You're seeing it now at the Storms with Big Nelson. He came back overweight so they dropped him and if he doesn't clean his act up, he's gone. Not a fan of them but it's those standards that keep them at the top.
Nonsense. Are any of the clubs going to pay more if a player overperforms their contract?
@@QwidgyboMan That's how they get a better price on their next contract?
That would be harsh on players who suffer big injuries during the season that see them sit out a lot of games. It could also lead to players being more selfish, hogging the ball to meet certain contract incentives.
Self entitled earning. Most players of 80’s played part time and worked for a living. Clubs are at fault for encouraging this self entitled, arrogant & bad attitude.
Perfect fit for Rabbitohs!
All he had to do is loose the gut .
Now he's gonna go to England for 150k a year if he's lucky .
Had it all laid out for him and he still managed to Fk it Up.
Na he'll just stay in reserves for 800k.
Please don’t send him to the Titans. We have enough problems. 😅😅😅
😂😂😂
I agree, this guy will only make it harder to win. He is a liability for any club. I think he should go to union.
Send to Tonga team hhh
Prior to this season Latrell Mitchell has been carrying a big gut for the preceding 3 years
And to think Fulton wanted him at the Tigers on bug bucks. I think Benji and the Tigers made the right call.
Give it time for an injury to old man river DCE and for Brooks's nil affect kicking game to take place
The clause in the contract isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. He met all the targets before Christmas but then he had 2 injuries and an illness. That’s just like trying to fire an employee for falling unwell and this is why the RLPA is there for the players. They’ll end up moving him on to another Sydney club for 300-400k with a load of performance clauses and manly will have to carry the rest of his salary for 3 years.
You raise a very valid legal point. He's definitely gonna get paid from someone.
He’s been playing well at lock in reserve grade averaging 30 tackles - usually around 8-9 runs for 60+ m and chipping in with his short kicking game and ball playing
What do you want him to do ?
He’s learning a new position
Andrew Johns was raving about this bloke at the start, and it was hard to see why. I wonder what he has to say about him now.
his lazy, unfit, unmotivated a tolerable version of Latrell but was rubbish and overrated from the get-go. he was never worth 800k, not even worth 400k. he should get the minimum 120k. he hasn't had a performance worth mentioning.
the clause in the contract is perfect, been saying that for a long time would solve so many problems for clubs especially with the cost cap.
gotta cut the crap of THEY CAN BE A GOOD PLAYER. POTENTIAL ETC AND NOT PAY PEOPLE BASED ON POTENTIAL it's a joke and ludicrous and those deals are done by people that know nothing.
Every single player in the nrl are overpaid for what they do. Some are paid more than our bloody politicians! It ruins players, especially stupid ones
Athletes have a 5 year average at their peak, and the NRL makes hundreds of millions. They lose their peak years to build a career so they deserve every cent they earn. If anything they’re underpaid, their bodies are busted by the age of 30
Politicians are grossly overpaid. What are you on about?
What are you talking about? They risk their body and health each week to give it all for their clubs. Short careers then most of them don't even have enough saved for retirement.
@@nuperspektiveboohoo
@@QwidgyboMan yes they’re also overpaid but if a politician is being overpaid, then wtf do you call it when a bloke gets paid 800k to run a ball 100m ?
without hard work,talent is worthless
Parra will be dumb enough to go after him
That's a wild call, but not out of character for the Eels lol they are missing Moses. Surely not but . .
Too lazy , get rid of him, wants to party hearty and not do the training
It comes back to when foran was at eagles. His agent pulled a Ponga and said he would leave if he didn't get 5/8, so they shipped off Foran and got a big dud, then re-signed him for more $. Kudos to manager to get a quick commission, then move onto the next big hype.
Any Rugby Union club.
It doesn't matter what your price tag says about you, it's your work ethic that gets you next contract , at this stage he'll be lucky to get a train and trial deal at the titans
I agree with Kenty on this one
I didn't see enough from him to ever warrant 800k
Schuster is a classic example of how the cheer squad pumped him. He never did anything of substance but he was the Messiah.
Yeap, Walsh, Hass, and Cobbo are definitely paid too much at the Broncos. We should have dropped their pays a bit to keep Flegler and Farnsworth 😊.
The problem with these kind of players is that they’re improvised big -bodied (185cm 105kg) playmakers . That’s his belief cuz it’s what he’s always done .
this doesn’t work in the top grade.
His big body in the younger years didn’t allow him to master game organisation (can’t be a 7 or 6) . He’s relied on his big body and natural talent flare to score points .
Simply put , he hasn’t fully developed his set of skills that would make him a reliable starter in 1st grade .
It’s a tricky one but I would use his big body as lock-type-bench player .
I’d try to reprogram him and tell him to always always always take on the line .
As the game wears on and he’s subbed in , his talent will shine .
But he’s a bench lock type kind of player.
Should have played a lock or second row instead of five -eight.
He would be good at the nyngan tigers .he would do well in group 11
Somebody get Carayannis to say Olakoatu again 😅
Yer agree to melbourne would either help em or? Still young heaps of talent.
He’s a $300,000 -$350,000 player that is it
Don't get any ideas Gus...
The sort of bloke the Tigers will take.
So what happens to the 800k? Does he still earn it or do they buy him out
“Earn it”
If no NRL or Super league team picks him up, Manly have to pay out his full contract. If he goes to another team, Manly covers the difference to make up the 800k total per year.
@@grantisshananaa4906 so he still earns the 800k either way ?
@@Davechappelle445 Unless Manly can exploit a loop hole in the contract. Someone has to pay him the money, and the responsibility is on Manly at the start. They need to hot potato as much of it as they can.
22 is not a kid. Seems might be a question of motivation. Different people have different goals. Rugby League is a tough game maybe he is not tough enough ?
800k is too much money and went to his head.
Braith doing a great job 👏
Send him over here to the super league for a season, 300 quid a week and a vauxhall corsa club car
He on big bucks!!!. The kid will just enjoy getting paid 😂😂😂 and then move on!!!. You think he cares about what these guy's are saying 😂😂😂
Oh Anasta is opposed to putting blokes in position that they aren't up to and subjecting them to media scrutiny?
Yet he pushes his client Lachlan Ilias to try to be a 7 because they earn more even though he's awful at 7 😂
Anasta has no credibility with his conflict of interest
if he won't leave Blacktown to live in manly he isn't going anywhere but out west. so that leaves, Penrith (no), Para (no), Wests (no), dogs( no). no chance on moving to Qld or Melb
He should go help souths out
He peaked as a junior. I think that with each Birthday he's gonna battle with weight gain and lacks the work ethnic to get lean and stay lean. His talent got him the big deal but his laziness will break it.
He never like Rugby 🏉 League from first place & is taking 📦 up boxing & cricket 🏏..
Too many players getting overpaid and doing absolutely nothing. Seriously I know they all want the big money but tell me when did this game come more about cash then the actual skills and ability. The game is turning into a money grab. It's simple Put in the effort and make it make sense why they are getting paid so much a d doing so little.
The bro has injuries and the fox panel label him he hasn't preformed 😂
he hasn't all his years in the nrl. overrated and over paid.
Dragons need a 5/8.
Still will with him in ya team
Kent wouldn’t last 2 minutes at Salford the wet wipe
😂😂😂
I fell off my chair when I read how much they offered him lol, he is a joke, leave him in reserve grade, where he belongs lol lol, lol, lol
Well the Warriors gave Kieran Foran a pity contract for a year to help him out because he was 'struggling ' in his mental health and life. Nrl always gets everything wrong. Thats why NRL Will never expand. Fans fault too.. They're low class fans.
Schuster come on guys give the guy a break he loves his KFC and is partial to McDonalds .Of course since in his contract if he does not meet the weight under Manly contract zero contract so good by the 850,000 for 3 years well he might get a go at KFC as a Trainee Manager at least then he can eat all he wants plus get a Trade go Schuster.
Never had the discipline and hard work in him, always was lazy on and off the field, wasn't even that good for us anyway. Bye bye joshy
The Warriors will destroy Manly this week.
Roosters please get him
Could be a steal. Put him on a train and trial contract or pay him 100k until he shows something or let him go and it’s not a drama for that cheap. Any club that pays more than that to get him is completely stupid.
@@TwoFourFourFourRoosters already have an over abundance of edge back rowers right now. He’s got zero chance of getting a halves jersey there
Roosters don't buy duds
Kurum ask your team to buy him your team is crap probably with a comment like that.
@@normanbwa8086 Not a fan of the Roosters or the Storm, but they rarely miss with who they sign. It's why they're always expected to be top 4 by anyone with a brain.
Good riddance. Hes no good.
Titans
Will finish one spot ahead of the spooners souths.
