Simple. We must keep the commandments of God! Did you watch the whole video? I addressed what the commandments of God are -
“And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.”

    • @abideintheWord
      @abideintheWord  Před 8 měsíci +4

God-willing I may do a video on this brother. But as I alluded to in the video, we are still under law, just not the law of Moses. We are now under a new and better covenant, or the law of Christ as it says in Galatians. Jesus was the fulfillment of the law, or He filled it up and gave it true meaning. Therefore when Paul says does the law not tell you not to muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain, he says this means in the New Covenant we are to support financially those who labor in the word -
“For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.””
      ‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This is the TRUE meaning of that law. With everything in the Old Testament there is a fulfillment or realization of it in the New.
We don’t do sacrifices as far as sacrificing bulls and goats, but what do we do instead?
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
      ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Love is the fulfillment of the law. That passage says it all.
This is so good, praise the Lord! Thank you for addressing this issue, Adam. This issue has been a point of contention between me and my Torah-keeping Christian friends, who are always trying to persuade me to join their community so they can teach me their ways. I've been declining their invitation, and when I give my reasons, they always come up with this or that passage to back their beliefs. It grieves my heart that it's causing tension and division among believers (we are back to the same situation and same issues the apostles faced at the council in Jerusalem).
As for the sacrificial laws, they said that the reason they don't keep it anymore is because Christ fulfilled the ultimate sacrifice / atonement by dying on the cross for our sins. So they're not really rejecting Christ's sacrifice. But like you said, they have categorized the law into moral, sacrificial and ceremonial. It's the ceremonial laws they're mostly trying to get people to adhere to (feasts and sabbaths).
God bless you! Keep doing what you do. This channel has been such a blessing.

Adam, with all due respect, upon examining the Bible and New Testament, it is true that the ritual, outside ceremonial laws of the Mosaic Law were all done with, as they do not concern our hearts and they are external. And Jesus already fulfilled the sacrifices part.
However, we True Believers are still to follow the Moral laws of the Mosaic law, because these concern our hearts. For instance, we are not to commit sexual immorality and idolatry and avoid these. These are in the Ten Commandments, do not commit adultery (even in your heart), do not covet, do not have any other gods beside Him, do not murder in your heart.

Sin is transgression of the law as 1 John states. The question is - WHICH law? The law of Moses? The law Adam and Eve had to not eat of the fruit of the tree? No! The law of Christ!!!

The law was meant to expose sin and be a guardian until Christ came.
There are different commandments that are reiterated in the new covenant and taken to a far deeper level, but indeed it is a new covenant that is completely different from the one given on Mount Sinai.
And on top of that these commandments are found outside of the ten, and two are the greatest, and one is a new commandment:
"Love the Lord God with all your heart soul mind and strength"
    "Love your neighbor as yourself"
But this one surpasses even human ability: "love one another as I have loved you."
This commandment shows the heart of the transformative work of the gospel in peoples lives. It goes far beyond anything the ten could do when it is fulfilled.
Read the ten. There is not a single command to love in them.
That is why the command to love like Christ is surpassingly greater. And if you are found in Christ, you can fullfill the law through that one command: love.
This is not an excuse to sin. But if we walk by the spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh, and we can truly love our neighbors, and especially our brothers and sisters in Christ.

    • @abideintheWord
      @abideintheWord  Před 8 měsíci +1

The NT is law is different, but it’s really the same. It’s always been to love God with all your heart mind soul and strength and to love others. However, Jesus filled it up to its fullness. The Mosiac law said not to commit adultery, but Jesus said if you even look at a women with lust you have already committed adultery with her in your heart. The OT law was a SHADOW of the things to come - Christ. The OT law wasn’t done away with. No! Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law - rather He came to fill it up! Not many people can accept this, only to whom it is granted by the Father. So now we don’t do animal sacrifices, but we still do sacrifices -
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Who is your friend? Jesus.
God is saying deny yourself, pick up the cross and follow him. Know that you have died upon that cross, it is no longer you that live, but Christ in you.
The will of the father is to take away the first to establish the second. This means everything from Adam, your past self, your old nature, sin is dead- by faith upon that cross. Because that cross was indeed ours to bear, but Jesus took the punishment- and where there is death for our wages, there is no more punishment for sin. But the accuser and his many minions will try to steal this blessed hope, and put you into bondage. Working all the day long for a righteousness you can't even glimpse by your works.
We are to be in rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. He really did what he came to do, he finished it.
So do we go and sin freely so grace abounds? God forbid! Don't be a slave to sin. You've been freed from Egypt.
But alas, the journey just begins when you get saved. The wilderness awaits you before you enter into the promised land.

Full disclosure, I am only two and a half minutes into this video. It sounds like you are saying that people trying to keep God's law have to adhere/do all that it contains. Did Jesus keep the laws that were specifically for women? Would you say that He didn't keep God's law perfectly then? The issue is that you are adding stipulations that aren't in any other format of law. Not in the Word, and not even in the corrupt world. Does God expect everyone to buy an orchard or field and plant fruit/veggies just so that we could adhere to the law that says to leave the corners of the field for widows, orphans, and the destitute? Does the U.S. Government expect me to weigh my personal truck at weigh stations because of the laws for commercial truck driving?
The point is that God removed the temple so that we couldn't go there anymore. However, Paul still sacrificed while the temple was standing and that was after Christ had ascended to the right hand of the Father. I am not part of Hebrew Roots, but I do my best to keep God's commands. I try to keep all that apply to me? Do I make mistakes? Yes, but thank God for His Salvation that shed His blood so that I could be cleansed. Should we refuse to keep God's commands so that grace may abound? God forbid, Paul says.
There are only a few commands that we would probably differ on. Sabbath, of which there is no verse that tells us we can do it how or when we want. It falls under the Love God with all your heart portion, as He set it up as a sign between us and Him. There are a few verses that people can twist to say they don't have to do it, but it's always a matter of interpretation of understanding. Jesus will give us rest. Amen. When He returns, He will set up a 1000 year rest. Just as the Sabbath was on the seventh day, His reign will be the seventh Millennium. Paul says to let no man judge you regarding Sabbaths.
    Colossians 2:16-17
[16]Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
[17]Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
You have to add a negative connotation to it. Do not let someone judge you for not keeping these things. I add the positive. Do not let someone judge you when you keep these things. This verse has helped me many times when dealing with family and friends. I have been called all kinds of names for keeping Sabbath. Pretend Jew, and Seventh Day Adventist were the nicer accusations.
The biblical diet is slightly different. Things taken out of context is where people get permission to eat unclean animals. Peter himself tells us what his vision meant in Acts chapter 10. If that wasn't enough, he recounts all that happened to other men who come to the same conclusion in the next chapter. If pork would have been on the menu, they probably would have said something to that effect. Jesus declaring all foods clean is another case of taking the verse out of context. In Mathew's version, Jesus straight up tells you what He is speaking against at the end. Eating with unwashed hands. Unclean animals are never even mentioned in that narrative. The Pharisees were talking about eating bread without washing the hands in their extrabiblical ceremonial way.
The last major difference would be the identity of God's people. Church is an assembly of people, not a people group itself. God has one people. They are currently split into two houses, but will become one in the hand of Messiah. There are references to this all over the Bible, but you will miss it if you don't know the whole council of the Word. Hosea is about the House that was cast out and divorced. God says they are not His people, and He is not their God. Paul talks about this as well.
    Romans 9:22-26
[22]What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
[23]And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
[24]Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
[25]As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
[26]And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
But if you don't make connections and learn the story then you won't see it. The story of the two houses are all over the Word. It's even in the story of Adam and Eve. One becomes two, then through marriage become one again. Who is the New Covenant made with? It tells us plainly in both testaments. Does that mean we have to be descendants? Read Ephesians 2, and Romans 9-11. You were gentiles before you had God, but now are part of the Commonwealth of Israel. Not by our blood, but by His blood. Grafted in. Adopted. Part of, not replacing.
As far as trying to bring people back into bondage. Amen. Bondage to the Master that gave the rules. Paul says that we are a slave to whom we serve.

[1]Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
[2]For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
[3]So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
These first three verses have needed context before you move on to declare that we are dead to the whole law. You picked one verse out of four because you could make it line up with your belief. There is context outside of Romans 7 that plays into what Paul is saying there as well. You twist when you say that we cannot keep all of the law as if that is expected. Jesus couldn't keep all of the law either because some laws were specific to women, Levites, farmers, etc. Yet the Bible says he kept God's law perfectly. There are many other examples of what you were doing, or will do if we talk about keeping Sabbath or eating according to the Bible. Romans 3:23 "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God!"
Romans 5:8 "..but God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 6:23 "...for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

If I have the time I will comment on other bad theologies and doctrines being presented.
First I will address the levitical sacrificial system. The vast majority of those offerings and sacrifices had nothing to do with sin.
Yes, Jesus was the sin sacrifice, once and for all. But what does that have to do with all the other offerings and sacrifices that were not related to sinning?
Also, the sin sacrifices that did exist, were for unknowingly sinning.
If you go back and read Leviticus, you will find that a wilfull sin sacrifice does not exist. Meaning, if you knowingly sinned, there was not a sacrifice that you could make. You would have to come before God, repent and ask for forgiveness.
The reason I say all that, is just to point out the argument you're making against the levitical system, the sacrifices and sin, it's just a flawed argument.

      Jer 31:31 , Heb 8:8

You clearly didn’t watch my video. Didn’t James tell us to be quick to listen and slow to speak? We are not under the law of Moses. Maybe if you had watched you would know what I actually teach instead of misrepresenting me.

@@johnjones8112 we are not under the Law - as in the Mosiac law as you see Paul referring to it. He often just calls it the Law. We are under the New Testament, which has a new law, the law of Christ -
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
      ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law;”
      ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
