  • Texans moving to Oklahoma? Yep! In this video, we'll discuss all the reasons that many Texans are moving from Texas to Oklahoma, pulling up stakes and heading north, fed up by 1) increased violent crime, 2) increased traffic, 3) higher taxes, and 4) an increased cost of living, not to mention an increasing lack of affordable housing. Not only that, many Texans are concerned that the huge influx of transplants from other states and Mexico either already have or eventually will erode the conservative values that Texans have long held dear, causing many to decide that Texas is no longer a place where they want to live and work, and for those with a family, where they want to raise their children. In this video, we'll discuss each one of these 4 categories mentioned above and compare each to what Oklahomans typically experience. Are you ready for a fresh start in Oklahoma? You're not alone. Thousands of your fellow Texans have made the move. Whether you're interested in moving to Oklahoma City, Edmond, or elsewhere local, call me, and let's talk about anything you'd like to cover. I'm sure I can assist and would love to answer all of your questions about a move to the Sooner State!

    Something worth considering, We don’t have the annual vehicle inspection requirement in Oklahoma….Texas has it.
    One might think Okla has many unsafe cars on the road because of this….I would say-no more than any other state.
    Antidotal story, my son bought a beautiful 2006 GTO for $7000 from his best friend. Why? Because his friend was moving to Dallas and there are too many vehicle inspection
    restrictions in Dallas. The GTO would not pass without expensive re-modifications.
    $7k for a vehicle that sells around $27,000 on todays market.
    We have PLENTY of clean air in Okla because it gets changed almost daily….lol.

    I'm moving to Oklahoma because of the crime just outside Ft Worth. No restrictions. Mobile homes and RVs moving in by the hundreds. New people who are moving out here are rude and unfriendly. Not at all what it used to be.

    The only other reason may be the incredible humidity in Texas. Some of the coldest winters I ever experienced were in Houston when the temps were in the upper 40s or low 50s with a huge humidity - that cold went right to the bone. And for the same reason summers were unbearable - running from one air conditioned environment to another. By the time you got home it didn't matter you had totally sweated out your clothes and needed to immediately shower and change. Just unbearable.

    • @HOMEINOKLAHOMACITY
      @HOMEINOKLAHOMACITY  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I agree with you on the humidity but I decided to avoid talking about the weather. One other negative I didn't cover is the reliability of the Texas electric grid. In recent years, ERCOT has had some real challenges keeping up with demand...

    The problem with west Texas is low labor most jobs here pay $13hr even for more skilled labor and I’m starting to notice east Texas isn’t that much better because the rising cost of living lived in multiple states and I do miss okc for some reason but idk if I should move back the jobs I worked at from what I’ve seen pay the same still but I guess the rent still being the same is good
