Although a messed up film and I did see the full uncut version it was very well shot, the lead actor was brilliant the soundtrack was great and if only it didn't feature the scenes it did I'm sure this would have become a cult film, it's already becoming know as one of the sickest films out there, I will never watch it again but glad I did!

I've seen "Cannibal Holocaust" more than once [I own the movie], & though it can be a tough watch for many, I'd watch that again easily over "A Serbian Film". It just went too far imo.

Lmao!! To the people comparing 'Eden Lake' to this, you clearly have not seen it. Eden Lake is slightly more violent than average for a horror film, this is literally 100's of times more intense. It's a good film though, especially the uncut version. The only films I've seen which are more intense are August Underground's Mordum, and cannibal films. Cannibal Holocaust etc are automatically worse because there is genuine violence to animals, and real violence has to be worse than literally anything which is depicted, no matter what it is.

I'm not really sure what they cut out in the edited version, but just consider yourself lucky you didn't sit through the unedited version. You were right about it being garbage, absolutely.

I love my horror movies, and it takes a lot to shock me and. A Serbian Film certainly shocked me, very disturbing and hard movie to watch. I have the uncut uncensored edition, that Unearthed Films released. It is great to have it in my bluray collection, but could I watch a lot. Definitely not, it's one fucked up show. Especially the ending of is the most gross and shocking bits of cinema ever. Just be prepared, if you going to watch it. Very disturbing and traumatic, so just warning you before you view it.

Its not a coinciedence that its called "A Serbian Film". The director shows his anger towars the politics and the Status Quo in serbia. I think it was quite powerfull, but obv. not disturbing since it wasnt intended to be realistic in any way. It was an intense political film with great cinematography. Not a masterpiece though...
Watched this once and felt physically ill. Sick, twisted, disgusting movie. And totally pointless. I'll never know how this abortion on film even got produced and funded. All I can say is, there are some sick individuals in the world with deep pockets. Great review though. Agree with everything said.
