Music Man Majesty VS Sterling Majesty Guitars: In-Depth Review
    • Music Man Majesty VS S...
**This electric guitar wasn't part of the limited 150 run...**
For this video, I got the unique opportunity to review a Purple Nebula Majesty guitar that was originally crafted for Dream Theater's guitarist, John Petrucci.
In this video I'll share the story of how the Purple Nebula went missing in the first place, and how it came to be privately owned. It's a REALLY cool story and I'm absolutely honored to be the one who gets to share it.
Just like my last video, I'm going to compare this guitar's sound to other Majesty models using my Fractal FM3. My tones are built on the Friedman HBE V1 amp and 4x12 USA Trad cabs and the Band Commander preset.
And then we'll demo the sound with the Archetype John Petrucci plugin by Neural DSP. 😎
The guitar features Dream Catcher and Rainmaker pickups, and its alder wings contribute to a unique and impressive tone. Tonewoods make a MAJOR difference for these guitars and this video is PROOF.
This John Petrucci Majesty guitar is truly special and you'll see why in the video. I hope you enjoy my review of John Petrucci's lost Purple Nebula guitar as much as I enjoyed playing it.
    It was a life-changing experience...

UPDATE: I should clarify from my last video about "which Majesty do I recommend?"
Basically, the more money you spend, the happier you'll be.
I found the Rainmaker/Dreamcatcher combo on the Eclipse Sparkle (Mahogany / Okume) to be a little too rounded out... But it sings well enough. I like the color and I'm gonna keep it. The bridge pickup still speaks great in the low register so it doesn't matter.
The Sonic Ecstasy is definitely crunchy AF. More sharp than the Rainmarker/Dreamcatcher, but I LIKE that for my music personally and it still sings in the high register.
In a perfect world, I'd play Purple Nebula (or similar) on all my solos, and Sonic Ecstasy for all of my rhythm stuff.
What's the RAREST guitar you've ever had the opportunity to play? 👇

I'm using Sterling Maj100x. Just changed the pickup to a set of BareKnuckle Polymath.

I admit, I was one of the guys who didn't think tone wood mattered much on electrics but this video definitely changed my mind. Excellent playing and gorgeous guitar. Still bummed I wasn't able to get my hands on one but by the time they released I was still paying off my Tiger Eye lol so I can't complain too much.

It's a special one! I've heard from numerous manufacturers they typically send the artist 2-4 guitars and they pick their favorite...

The most beautiful guitar. 2020, the year of Covid cut the production #s down. I believe 200 were originally slated. Thank you for sharing!

They didn't "cut production down" on this model... It was designed as a limited run. If it was not designed as a limited run, they would have made more already. I know because I've talked directly with Maddi and Music Man. ;-)
