- It's an exciting day for Jim as I'm finally able to put him on some old dump sites containing bottles dating back to the 1800s. In this adventure, we put away the metal detectors and rake away layers of earth to uncover glass relics from years past. If you're interested in learning how to date or identify old bottles, these are episodes you won't want to miss, thanks to Jim!

Awesome ship bottle🤘 I try to hit those old dumps too (when I bored of detecting)😬 I bring a steel probe with me usually . Its helpful hearing the glass.
Jim has one but forgot it this day. I'll get out to do it again but my love is with detecting. Cool break though for sure. Thanks for watching, bud. Appreciated.
This is so good! Educational and fun. I love your spirit for discovery. Just subscribed
Awesome! Thank you. I'm just trying to share the adventures we go on. Comments like these encourage me to share more. Thanks again!
I'm just finding this site and enjoy it . About the bottles " ship bottles " or any bottle that won't stand up . Bottles that had corks would leak or the cork would shrink and fall out SO the bottle was made to lay on it's side or even up-side down keeping the cork wet at all times . Had nothing to do with explosions !
Learn something new every day! That's one of the best parts of the hobby. Thank you for taking time to check out my channel. I hope you enjoy the other adventures as well and stick around for future ones too! Be safe and all my best to you.
Years ago I came across a box of old bottles which had a torpedo bottle in it. My research found they made these bottle this way so the liquid would keep the cork from drying out and shrinking and then losing it's carbonation or fizz. So the bottle exploding was new new to me. Anyway good video.
Interesting! Anything I can learn is always a good thing. Bottles are not my forte but it's fun trying to find them. Thanks for watching. I appreciate you taking the time. Stay healthy!
Jim’s knowledge of bottles is amazing! I learned something from him in this video about the seams and age. Sure wish he could help me identify the piece of old bitters bottle I found yesterday.
Shoot him a text on messenger. He would be happy to assist.
