"Sir, there are rumors of irish people looking sexy on the beach"
"We must stop the spread of disinformation!"
That one had me howling 😂🤣
I broke into laughter in the early morning cafe in public with that quip. Getting funny looks. 😂
Best line 😅😂
Reminds me of the pogues picture from one of thier albums with all the pasty lads top less on the beach 😂
@@linam764 Same! 😆
Herewith a Irish joke from South Africa.
A South African goes to Ireland for a holiday. It rains, without interruption. After three weeks of incessant rains, the South African gives up and decides to go for a walk, rains notwithstanding. After a couple of kilometers, he comes across a teenage child. Wanting to know what to expect, he asks the teenager „Excuse me, but do you know when it will stop raining?" To which the teenager replies, "How should I know, I am only 16 years old?".
I like that
Hah!! 😂 Wholesome weather/climate joke!
Nice one and this would surely shrivel a South Africans soul
Lol
I remember that joke being about Scotland... 😂
I lived in England for 14 months during the reign of the "Iron Lady'.
It only rained twice.
Once for 8 months and once for 6 months.
😂😂😂😂😂 brilliant
At the end of that time, she was the “Rusty Lady”.
It's about a sunshine not about the rain
Lol

And the one that said 'dress for your body type not the weather ', can't remember the bar
@@angelasalkeld1666 that's a good one..
@angelasalkeld1666, that reminds of a running joke here in the states about women who wear yoga pants or leggings that are undersized for their body, it has established a cultural norm saying “leggings aren’t pants!” 😂
As a Finn I love the summer days, both of them!
You have it every year?
As a read this, I thought “Come to New Mexico, USA, it’s sunny most days here.” Then I open the window shade and it’s cloudy. It might actually rain today for the first time in weeks! 😆

“They’ve been waiting in the long grass for a dry day” paints such a hilarious picture 😂
As someone from Minnesota... I felt that.
The lurking intensifies
That line really got me. As soon as I heard it all I could think of was the "don't go into the long grass!!" scene from the second Jurassic Park. And now in my head canon, it was Irish people that got those guys, not velociraptors
As someone in Oregon, I second the person from Minnesota... who felt that.
‘Pricks with guitars’ 😅😂🤣 - so accurate…
Not in Ireland but there was a dude walking down the street plucking on a guitar in my small college town last night at like 11pm. By the smell of smoke I’m guessing he was headed to a bonfire!
God, yes, they're a curse. 😝
A few days ago here, suddenly, a burning ball of light appeared in the sky. We didn't know whether to flee or worship it. Then windows and doors were recklessly flung open, layers of clothing were removed, the air buzzed with the sound of lawnmowers as people rediscovered the garden for another year. Balconies were brazenly filled with half clothed locals already turning pink, the streets were filled, the pubs cautiously opened their doors...
It had begun.
Beautiful 😊
You're a true poet! 😂
I had a friend send me a News Flash about the sight of the sun being possible over Ireland 😂😂😂😂
In April. You lucky, lucky ...
It will be late May at best in this part of Norway.
@@daftirishmarej1827 The same rumour hit here in Bristol (UK) some of the more superstitious locals began building wicker men and preparing for human sacrifice. Thankfully the clouds stayed overhead and the drizzle continued!
This command team cover all the bases perfectly - just brilliant - plus a classic ending! - maybe to add 'Detain all bald men - save them from themselves' and 'issue a warning - don't look directly at bare flesh after winter - the glare is more dangerous than the sun'
Nice
I was in Dublin in April several years back. Temps were in the forties farenheit. I was freezing wearing a down filled jacket walking around with my tour guide. Of course people were looking at me all bundled up like I was. I told my guide when I left home (Florida USA) it was about 87 degrees. He replied to me “my God if it was 87 degrees here people would be catching on fire”. Funny people the Irish. Love them.
Fahrenheit? You need to travel more!
Code Yellow - I'm such a child, that made me laugh so hard. Too many puns to count in this one, loved it!
That got me too 🤣

Holding shovels and pitchforks. 😂 Just imagined Anne Flanagan fighting Aodhagán over the last shovel in the garden center.
It's all fun and games until Geraghty shows up.
"Oh Mrs Geraghty I didn't realise you liked gardening!"
"I don't"
"Oh, but, how come you're buying a shovel-... and rope...."
"My darling husband is going to help me fertilise the garden"
"Oh Bob! How is he? Haven't seen him in a long time!"

"Sorry what was that?"
"Right well back to me garden"
"Mrs Geraghty?"

Oh my...I literally love every single line in that sketch!
It was nice to have a day of summer though last week, wasn't it? Even though it felt like the whole of south Ireland was visiting our farm café 😅
An American friend who visited me in Amsterdam once told me he thought there was a Sun Alarm going out because he saw people literally running to Vondelpark with a blanket and a bottle of rosé wine.
Reason I love southern Europe
I love everything about this sketch, but saying it in one comment isn't very engagement drivey, so I'm dedicating this comment to just the part at the end, when skipping work is brought up and Foil's accent instantly becomes more Irish 😂 I love that 😂
Sometimes it's those little tings.
For some reason, the patrols out looking for "pricks with guitars" killed me
You forgot to mention all the people running around topless in the streets (whether they should or not) 🤣. Its the same in the UK! Great sketch! 👍
When we had that brief afternoon of sun recently in Bristol there was an alarming increase in the number of middle aged men in cycling shorts! If this trend continues then a State of Emergency may need to be declared
I know right?? It's terrible and always happens as soon as the sun comes out here 🤮
The past few weeks in the Netherlands haven't been that bad. We've had the sun out several times now, sometimes even three times a day! Just don't move to far away from shelter in these sunny breaks, you might get caught in a hailstorm.
When I was living in Ireland and nice day appeared i was always saying: we don't need Bank Holidays, we need Sun Holidays. It would be less off days though :/ but still worth it.
Love the sketch , miss Ireland so much!!

Foil for Taoiseach!
100% accurate. When we visited Galway during my 2016 holiday in Ireland it was 30 degrees centigrade. People were sunbathing on the bank of a canal, some were even playing guitars, and in the shopping area there were Irish people in shorts eating ice creams.
That was the last good summer. Should happen by accident soon. We're still waiting for climate change to make it dryer. Seems CC in Ireland means MORE rain in the summer
@@stephendoherty8291 Yes that's correct, Ireland is now wetter thanks to climate change. They say warmer too but that just means no true winter (save for bits and pieces here and there).
But after last 'summer', I'm still hoping for at least a week or two in July of sunshine and warmth (maybe August too!! 🤞)
@@hiking1388 think that warm day is a Tuesday. I predict at least a maximum high of 20 in completely enclosed wind free south facing backgardens

Just joking.
A guy from Czechia here. The climate change brings us, among other things, hotter and drier summers (read: boiling hot and crop-damaging dry).

🤣🤣🤣 As it happens it’s a very hot day today in Lebanon. Hair dryer warm whiffs coming in from surrounding deserts. And the ladies have been waiting for that day to display their most daring outfits. In July they’ll be longing for the fur coats and the leather boots and skiing in the mountains.
Enjoy! I'd love to go to the Lebanon. Ireland has a long standing relationship with the country
@@foilarmsandhog Thank you! Indeed a good relationship. And for the better hopefully. You’re always welcome in Lebanon. Better in spring or autumn to avoid the extreme heat and crowd of the summer.
I love seeing things from the perspective of northern Europeans. Down here the first day below 27° is (quite literally) a breath of fresh air

Suddenly huge parts of northern Germany are loosing their clothes, plastered with naked people turning their heads to the sun, aiming for the trendy lobster tan!
I was in Reykjavik once in August and was told the same thing happens there. Everyone stops what they're doing, goes outside, and lies around stark naked until the clouds come back, which is usually fairly soon.
Here I am, getting ready for work, wondering what I am doing to myself, sitting in the office all day while the sun shines outside, thinking about resigning, and Foils Arms and Hog come to the rescue. I think I can make it through one more day 😂

I love it! I live in an English seaside town and it is exactly like this, with 134,859,561 people pouring in from inland to queue up in asda for supplies for their parties. And to moan to each other about the lack of parking.
This was a really brilliant sketch: very cinematic-looking, well acted, and full of jokes. This one, the Dinner Detectives, When Irish People Can't Speak Irish, Gardai Halloween Warning, even Killing a Houseplant are all sketches that show how well you can portray these sorts of characters.
I could pick out favourite lines; tease about the so-called "disinformation;" or leave a sappy comment about FAH making Thursdays bright & happy like the first day of summer; but other people have already done all of that, so I'll just say to you - well done!
Totally unrelated to the sketch but I have to share something that I heard the other day! Apparently there's a name for Sri Lanka in Medieval Irish (Deprofane and Tibra Faine)!! I find it very interesting that they knew us even from that far away and that long ago 🥰
Hey that's cool!!
The name Taprobana was the Greek name for Sri Lanka 2300 years ago.
So yeah, Europe did know about Sri Lanka back then as well.
@@Tjalve70 yes that's something well known, have learned it in school history lessons along with other old names such as Serandib and all but this was totally new information for me. The Irish version is the Irish adaptation of the Greek word it seems, so it makes sense. Perhaps the Greeks stole it from the Irish…Loads of Irish merchants and missionaries ventured in Sri Lanka …

Well the good news is, you can see most of those seasons (if not all) in one day
Probably good as a tourist location but not moving in there... few people said they moved there and lost their illusions quickly, moved out of the country soon enough. One needs to have a very specific mindset to be able to live there (as a foreigner).
@@Hawky2947 not sure what their illusions were and I guess everyone has their own ideas about moving to another country, Ireland isn't perfect but I moved and to me it's the best place in the world.
