This actually IS Marvel! Big Hero 6 was originally a comic book series under Marvel Comics. We could, technically, see them in the MCU someday, and I for one hope that they're based on this version of the characters more than the comics version lol

I love how this movie makes us kinda pass through all the stages of grief with Hiro. Almost feels like we're grieving too and healing with him. I think that's why this is one of those animation that leaves me completely satisfied at the end.

That is Stan Lee. The comic for this was written by Stan. And in Age of Ultron, along with F.R.I.D.A.Y's chip Tony Stark also had a chip titled Tadashi or Baymax or Hamada(I don't remember which but it was there).

Consider the bag Honeylemon uses. It has the periodic table as the buttons so she basically puts in chemical formulas to create the different orbs she throws out. To have all those things memorized and able to do it without looking at the buttons, that takes some major skill

To be fair, Tadashi didn't die for nothing. Because Callahan set the fire to recreate the portal, Tadashi died. Because Tadashi died, Hiro made Baymax fight Callahan. Because Baymax was next to the portal, he detected Abigail inside it and they saved her life. In a way, Tadashi indirectly led to her rescue. I think that's what they hinted at when they made Hiro repeat Tadashi's words as well. "Someone has to help"
I feel like Baymax affects everyone because he's so pure. There's no emotions involved, he's got 1 job to do and that's make people feel better, he's so innocent and it gives you the feeling of looking at a child.

I think it’s important for a movie like this to exist for kids and adults alike because once you’re in the cycles of grief it’s hard to imagine reaching the stage of acceptance or recovery. People need to know the pain will subside and that moving forward does not mean forgetting. If anything moving forward allows you to honor your loved one, which is well shown here with Hiro’s continuation of his brothers work with baymax and helping others

Hiro didn't "give" the mask back; he simply dropped it after taking it off. And then when everyone was trying to stop Baymax, it was still laying there forgotten in the chaos before Callahan got it back

This is easily one of my favorite movies! Grief is a very tricky and painful thing to handle and I think this film has a beautiful way of addressing it. I love the reaction to feel good movies or movies that have had a big impact in my life. Baymax is just the best with his huggable, non threatening appearance.

If you pay close attention to when baymax first uses the fist, you can see that the statue he destroys is Prince Hans from Frozen.
one thing to know about Honey Lemon's costume is that on her bag she has the periodic table on it so she's thinking of equations on the spot and then using them. so shes's super smart, i also don't think people realise that honey lemon is super smart and that her suit requires so much more thinking than all of the others

I'm impressed that you figured out so early on that the villain was Callaghan. In the other reactions to this movie I watched, they all assumed it was Krei. I agree that Krei being the villain was too obvious, but I wasn't expecting the villain to be Callaghan (although maybe I should have). On another topic, I've recently noticed several other reactors saying "Ay-yo", but none of them say it like Seb does. I don't know if it always been a thing and I just never noticed it before, or if its a new thing that is catching on.

Well, it does seem that many reactors are working through more or less the same "playlist". Broadly speaking, they mostly react to science fiction, fantasy, and action-adventure movies plus a few key horror movies, comedies, and dramas. Most reactors watch some combination of the following: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Marvel movies and TV shows (and other superhero movies), Disney & Pixar films, Alien, Aliens, The Terminator and Terminator 2, The Thing, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Mad Max, Silence of the Lambs, Titanic, The Exorcist, Jaws, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Misery, Dolores Claiborne, Saving Private Ryan, Firefly and Serenity, and maybe a few horror films (e.g., Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Candyman). Recently, many reactors have done Top Gun because of the new movie. Basically, any popular movie or movie series from the past 40 years or so is potentially on the list, but I think I've named the most common ones. Reactors may add to or delete from the list depending on their personal taste and what they've already seen. Seb hasn't watched everything on this list yet, and maybe he doesn't plan to, either because he's not interested or he's already seen them.

LOL yes, I've dealt with drunk friends. That is probably one of my favorite scenes of this whole movie. Baymax on low battery is totally the equivalent of taking care of a drunk friend. I once had to pull one of my best girls off the back of some poor random guy because she had decided at the moment she wanted a piggyback ride. She jumped on some guy's back while crossing the crosswalk. LOL Thankfully, the guy didn't really seem to mind. He didn't say anything...He probably thought she was cute. She was like 5'2, 105 lbs, and completely wasted LOL. I think we had to pull her off the guy three times. The whole time she's screaming I want a piggyback ride!
I love this movie. Baymax is adorable and for the most part, all of the characters are pretty likable. LOL, Fred is soooo extra! That whole recycling dirty underwear thing gets me every time. I love that his dad is Stan Lee. Also, you getting emotional over this movie I think is pretty standard LOL. I think most people do. Bit impressive that you were completely set on the bad guy being Callahan. I've seen a few reactions to this movie, and they've always fallen for the bait that the bad guy is Krei.

this movie is indeed Marvel! Based off the original Big Hero 6 comics. Now that the multiverse is well in play in the MCU right now its possible we could have a BH6 cameo in the future :) the comics of course take place on Earth-616, and this film is said to be in its own universe too, so it will be cool to see a BH6 team from another universe brought into the MCU! This is such a wonderful film and it never fails to make me cry. I first watched this when I was in the 7th grade, and now as an adult it really hits different seeing how Hiros character develops over the course of the film as he deals with grief. Awesome reaction!

It's really good, the animation still holds up today, the music is by Hans Zimmer (so you know it's fire), and the cast includes Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Patrick Stewart, Helen Mirren, Jeff Goldblum, Sandra Bullock, and Michelle Pfeiffer. (It's a masterpiece honestly.)

When I first saw this in theaters I cried twice lol. When Tadashi died and then when Baymax ‘died’. This is my favorite Disney movie of all time - for me it’s just the perfect movie.

If I’m being honest I preferred the first part of the film with the focus on robotics and innovative tech as opposed to the second half’s emphasis on superheroics (yes I know this was loosely based on an obscure Marvel comic). Still a very enjoyable film and Baymax is the best
i love this movie! me and my twins still do the silly fist bump. my favorite quote is "hairy baby!" which i call my cat all the time and yes its based off a Marvel comic ( now also a cartoon with 3 seasons )
Just saw Baymax the new 6 ep series and it was cool seeing Baymax again.
You should really watch Real Steel, it's a pretty good movie from what I remember that starts Hugh Jackman as the lead and it's about awesome robots that fight, would recommend

This movie is really an amazing Movie
While I do wish they leaned more into the fantasy aspect (Fred's dragon form, HL's purse of pocket dimensions, Wasabi's qi manipulation), I really loved this adaptation. Hopefully in the future, Disney will adapt more lesser-known Marvel properties--or create something new inspired by a famous property (such as X-Men, Thor/Loki, etc).
