    Been a 1911 guy my whole adult life. Which has been pretty long at this point. Shot a 1911 for 25 years in uspsa matches. Own a bunch of plastic guns of varying makes, models and calibers. I always come back to my 1911’s. I just shoot them way better than anything else. My EDC is some variation of or caliber of 1911. Love your stuff nut’n.

    I love 1911’s. I recently purchased this gun in 45 ACP. It’s sitting in quarantine for another few days. However, though I haven’t shot it yet I was very surprised at the fit, finish and trigger. Tight and the trigger was smooth and crisp. Looking forward to shooting it. I generally run Springfields but saw so many good reviews about this gun I had to dive in. We shall see.

    I used to have a black gun. Now I have a black, tan, and olive gun with a Mossy Oak scope. I'm doing the magazines next. I read somewhere that a radio man in the U.S. army, maybe in Vietnam, heard enemy chatter saying G.I.s were too well camouflaged to see. The response was to search for the black M16s instead. Of course, soldiers spray paint and attach stuff to their M4s routinely.

    Bought Tisas Tanker in 9mm. I had to send it back to SDS twice to fix the extractor. However with that issue fixed I swear it’s one of the best guns I own. The accuracy is phenomenal. I’m recoil sensitive so the weight of the gun coupled with it being 9mm makes it a hit with me.

  • @pigpen5145
    @pigpen5145 Před 3 měsíci

    I don't get why he says that the 1911 platform in condition 1 is not as safe as a Glock. You must pull the trigger on each gun for it to fire, but the Glock only has a trigger safety, while the 1911 has 2 manual safeties.
    Not saying that the Glock is unsafe, but it requires just as much practice as a 1911 to be competent.
    Myself I have never liked the Glock platform. I just don't shoot it as well as others. I actually shoot the 1911 platform the best, but I carry a Ruger SR9C. I am competent with it and the round count of 17+1 in the gun in my holster plus a 10 round magazine on my belt just makes sense to me.
    NutnFancy is the best reviewer on CZcams, even if you might disagree with him on occasion. He is honest and tells you why he thinks the way he does.

    I have a suspicion regarding certain 9mm ammunition in 1911 firearms. If you watch how the top of the stack bullet feeds, it nose dives. I’ve seen hundreds of articles confirming this phenomenon, and I think it’s normal. This action, in some ammunition, seems to seat the bullet deeper into the brass casing when the gun slams the nose of the bullet against the feed ramp. I suspect the bullet moving back into the brass results in the failure to feed. If you load this “deeper seated, short bullet” back on top of the stack, it will jam the gun again. I tend to blame the ammunition rather than the gun when this happens. I’ve heard a lot of people blame ammunition for feed problems, but I’ve never heard anyone describe this mechanism occurring. I’d like to hear if other people can make similar observations. When I am more confident which brands of ammunition are doing this, I’ll name them.

    • @c0c0asauce
      @c0c0asauce Před 3 měsíci

      Your suspicion matches my experience with my 9mm 1911. I've taken slowmo video to see what I can fine tune. Tripp Research mags feed more consistently than what came with my Tisas. The better quality ammo like Liberty Overwatch can be manually racked through the gun multiple times without knocking the round deeper into the case. With cheaper ammo like the Blazer Brass FMJ sometimes the round will sink 1mm into the case the first time it's chambered.

    Condition 1 is dangerous? And then you'll carry a glock? Lol...c'mon man...that doesn't make any sense. Carrying condition one is the exact same as carrying a glock but with a thumb safety and a grip safety, it is one of the safest pistols you can carry. Statistically, as of 2016, over 80% of firearm accidental discharges that injured or killed someone were from glocks...1911's probably accounted for less than 1%. Get real. 1911's are still one of the best carry pistols out there and i see more and more young people carrying them because their sick of the cheaply made, over priced plastic trash with no safety features that every guntuber pushes for the industry. Plus, people can shoot a 1911 well because of the ergo and the trigger...it's a no brainer 113 years later.

    • @bass779
      @bass779 Před 3 měsíci

      Great point on condition 1 carry. That said, I don't know anyone under 65 who carries a 1911. Big, heavy, limited capacity and I've never shot a stage in competition without seeing a 1911 jam, let alone an entire competition.

    • @curly__3
      @curly__3 Před 3 měsíci

      @@bass779 ... You're shooting with people that don't understand how to keep the guns in tune. No offense, but there is no good excuse for a decent 1911 to jam other than bad ammo. Reliability starts with a good magazine using a strong spring. Wilson combat mag spring and followers packs are eight bucks a piece...the next thing is an eight dollar recoil spring from wolfe (find the poundage you need for the gun and ammo youre shooting), it usually doesn't matter if it has a guiderod or not. Then you need an extractor and ejector that are in good shape and work properly for the particular gun. Those usually cost ten to twenty bucks...all of those parts last a long time for most people but for guys shooting competition, then they might need to be replaced every year or every other year... These tisas guns come with excellent parts but the mags need the wilson combat internals if you want to shoot hp's out of them which is a universal thing with most 1911's regardless of cost or brand short of 2500 dollar wilson combat 1911's. They are not for people that want a 'grab and go' gun from gun mart, they are for people that want the best pistol you can buy. They are all hardened steel, ultra simple internals, the mags are simple, they're easy to swap parts on, they have excellent safety features, and they're very accurate and very easy to shoot properly because of the ergonomics and truly excellent triggers. The weight keeps the recoil down and they are very easy to carry for most men, especially the commanders and officer models. Wear some suspenders under your shirt and they're hard to beat for carry because of their slim profile. The gun shops around here are selling more turkish 1911's than everything else put together for about 2 years now...
      * Oh, and competition shooters famously shoot with ridiculously low poundage recoil springs because they are shooting very light loaded ammo that won't cycle normal 16 lb springs and they want the lower muzzle rise from those springs. Those springs, if not in new condition are very well known to cause jams, which, if you're shooting with experience competition guys, that is probably the problem. 1911's are super reliable with a 16-22 lb spring or so and shooting normal standard or +P ammo. Just as reliable as a glock... Every bit as reliable. But you need to understand the guns are not made to shoot hp's, so they need those wilson combat mag internals to do so reliably in my experience. Imo, the 45 does not need to use hp's... But they are obviously good for certain situations.

  • @curly__3
    @curly__3 Před 3 měsíci +1

    Series 70 has a half cock catch safety (so does series 80)...but it only works if you carry it in condition one, every other carry condition is dangerous unless you carry it without a round in the chamber...which would be stupid.

    Your gloves up close manipulating the pistol reminds me of White Fang in the Soupy Sales Show 🤣🍔✌️
    Soupy Sales once asked children viewers to go into mommies purse, take out the dollar bills, and mail it to him at the studio in NYC. A public apology followed. He did not return the dollars

    Yeah that's awesome brother! Hey what would you do if you woke up in the middle of the night with that deep scared feeling and then noticed an old hag in the corner pointing at you?

    The 1911 is what all other pistols secretly want to be without looking like a 1911.

    What’s the problem with black guns? I’m confused. As long as the gun can defend my home, I don’t care if it’s pink.
