    I’m addition to a Volt and Model Y, I have a 2015 500e with about 55k miles.
It’s my daily driver and I love it. I’m 6’ tall around 275 and although it is a little narrow, plenty of head room and easy to get in and out of. My commute is 20 miles round trip. Maybe 30 if I go out to lunch. Still plenty of a buffer for my needs.
As for range, the meter in the middle will show 80 to 100 miles. I ignore it. Basically I take the percentage and divide it in half as a rule of thumb. I can do over 60 miles on some drives but 50 is always a safe bet.
Loads of fun. Plenty quick up to around 40. Then adequate after that. Too easy to spin front tires. That’s my biggest complaint … having to replace them too often.
I’m in central Florida and the AC has no problem bringing the temperature down
We paid around $6500 for it about 3 years ago. Absolutely no regrets so far.
    Good luck.

Got my 2016 500e back in 2019 for 7k. Fun little go cart for around town. If I baby it I can get just about 90 miles in town but usually get more like 70 miles of range around town with no freeway driving. Costs me about 3 bucks to fully charge at home here in SoCal which is far better than gas. 3 bucks of gas would get us about 10 miles in our explorer.

0:50 - Yep. We had a 2015 i3, and were looking to replace it with a used 2019 i3 earlier this year. It was cheaper to buy a brand new Mach-E than to buy a used i3!
Loved the i3. Nice small around-town car with tons of "zip". And when we bought ours (used, lease-return) it was a steal. But they want as much for a 2015 now as we paid for our 2015 four years ago! And the newer/better models were nearing new-vehicle prices, even for 2-year-old lease returns.

My Fiat 500e has the same piece of weather strip rotted out. I drive 30 mi to work, charge at work. I'm 6 ft 2, it still has extra headroom. 100 mi range,, only if it's downhill at 30 mph all the way with a strong tailwind. Her 60 mile range estimate is good for mixed freeway and City. Less if it's mostly freeway, closer to 55. I don't think it's fair to call it slow 0 to 40 is spicy, drops off after that.

The wheels and tires are designed to maximize range in the little electric Fiat. If you can test out different wheel sizes, on the regular gas powered 500s (including the Abarth), the most comfortable and practical wheel/tire combination I've experienced up to now with my past rentals and current ownership are 195/45R16 tires on 16 inch rims.
The only problem today is finding 16 inch wheels with a 4x98 bolt pattern. You might have to buy steelies.

I had a 2013 500e I bought off lease and drove it for two years every day. I enjoyed it because it was fun to drive and being short and narrow, it fit into many parking spots that were too narrow for full size cars. Everyone at work tends to favor full size trucks so the Fiat fits.
I eventually wanted a car with fast charging, so I sold the Fiat

  • @Mosquito3314

I own 2017 500e and I love it, bought a few years back to try electric and its my only car , i got it as my commute to work when i lived in NY was only 10 miles so it was perfect. But I now live in NJ and as my only car its range lets me down continually not being able to really go farther. Wish they would of put CSS on this little thing at least then, it might of been more functional.
I am having some suspension issues with it now, the front shocks seem to be going and I am getting a weird continual plop plop, sound when driving in the 20s , the faster i go it disappears so im wondering if thats coming from a bad bearing on one of the wheels hubs or front axle. Other than that its been a very good car to me. Probably will keep it as eventually I would like to remove the batteries for a solar setup.

Chevy Spark EV is a better value. You can find used examples at around the same price as what you paid here. It has 140 HP and 327 pound-feet of torque. Hot hatch acceleration and lots of fun to drive. Way more room inside than Fiat 500e. DC fast charging is an option so if you find one with it you can extend your range beyond the EPA rated 82 miles. Perfect inexpensive city car and long range capable with CCS charging.

More expensive and slower L2 charging. It would be nice to have DC fast charging but those reasons were enough for me to get the Fiat, plus I prefer the look of it

@@rp9674 Chevy Spark has 12 amp AC charging at 110v and a 16 amp charge at 220v maxes out the charger at 3.3kw. After a full day of driving down to 10% I'm back to 100% in 5.5 hours. I know because I have one. Even if you plug in at midnight, you're going to be done when you wake up. Fiat 500 styling is cute. Servicing and reliability issues make it not so cute in the long run.

I've never seen this woman before, why no intro? To have your first video be about how you want to buy a cheap EV because you own multiple $100k cars and don't want to drive them to work that is only 3.5 miles away, it comes across as quite arrogant and elitest. "Oh look at me I can afford everything I want". That's how you come across when there is no intro as to who the heck you are.

So why might a £15k EV be overpriced, compared to a £15k petrol car? The massive waiting lists for new EV's suggest you may be wrong John..... The additional cost of the typical new EV is readily recouped come trade in time. Right now, a one year old EV will sell for the cost of a brand new one.....

@@Brian-om2hh thank you for the question. My response was speaking about here in the USA. I have absolutely no clue what prices are or situations are in any other country.
To answer your country based on the USA under normal circumstances it takes on average 20 to 30 years just to break even with an EV against a comparable sized gas model in the USA.
With the current EV in the USA we get less and pay more. Thye are impractical at best due to being overpriced, too short a range, and too long to charge.
