The one thing that I had to learn as a newbie is just because someone is polite doesn’t mean they want a big chat….it’s an obvious one but when you’re totally new it can be hard to figure out people’s dynamics

the band is a big part of how I pick cigars so that thing is staying on lol...too much cool artwork and design. for me its like craft beer, so many have neat labels and that's part of the fun for me.

I also collect the cigar bands and write notes about my smoking experience ( flavor notes, burn, complexities, etc. )

Should see it in Canada. Plain packaging has left us with green boxes and green bands. A lot of OG bands are under them...but you certainly aren't able to tell what's what at a quick glance.

I’m a new cigar smoker and this is great info. I really appreciate you guys lacing me up about how to conduct myself in a lounge. Is it common to bring alcohol in a lounge?

We apologize for the delay. By now you may have discovered the rules on BYOB to a lounge. Always check with the proprietor first, rules vary at various lounges. At our lounge, you can bring and leave a bottle (libation), but it's customary to offer others.

Just not pils or beer 🍺 please. 😆 Even espresso ☕️ seems more respectable. Or better a cognac and coffee cocktail... 🤭

What to do?: My friend and I enjoy cigars, and I (and my wife) have been invited over to
his house. Do I bring cigars or should the host provide them?

Sorry for the long delay, we've been dealing with health issues. Always bring cigars and have at least one for the host.

You forgot one. Don't be bragging about how much money you make or have. Don't boast about the cigar your smoking being expensive. Cigars are an expensive hobby. Everybody in the lounge does ok with money, And they don't want to hear it.

C W - Thanks for your comment. This subject is one that we've talked about in the lounge and it hits home for some people. People that have wealth don't talk about it - there's no need!

Buy extra cigars and give one or two away. Don’t talk politics, treat everyone like your brother.
