Just started enjoying cigars and have yet to venture into any lounges, but when I do I will keep these rules in mind. The lounge is among the last havens for men to congregate.

Great tips Sir. I would respectfully add that many cigar lounges are also safe spaces for women as well. My local lounge has a large and active group of women smokers who often frequent the lounge and they add to the ambiance of the space.

It’s very hard to keep politics and religion out of the cigar lounge. Nowadays, these are great advice. I find myself having difficulty about this time, especially when the lounge owner brings this up with me sometimes

Great job. But I have to admit. Some of the best conversations I have with groups of men have been in great cigar lounges and politics have been a part of the conversations. Many times because the TVs are either on sports channels or CNN and many times the hot topics on the screen move to the patrons in the lounge. And when the whiskey begins to flow, the convos begin and are always cordial, respectful and many times, very insightful with men from different backgrounds. Great job again.

I've been smoking for over 2 years now - these are great tips. London had the best cigar lounges in Europe imo. Cigar people are fantastic. Rare to come across rude people, a little snobbery for sure though.

I’m an introvert and prefer to smoke cigars alone in my own garage and make my own rules than go to a cigar bar. After a long stressful day at work dealing with customers I don’t want to talk to anybody and want to be at peace smoking a cigar. One rule I’ll add though is do not smoke a cigarette or vape at a cigar lounge. Lol smoking a pipe is ok in my opinion and have seen pictures of people smoking a pipe at a cigar lounge along cigar smokers.

@@riseandgrind1911 Also most cigar bars are an hour or 2 away from me or I see them when I’m on vacation in another state. I don’t think it’s worth the drive when I can just light one up in the garage. Used to have one by me but he closed the lounge up many years ago now he’s just a cigar shop.

The local cigar lounge where I live allows you to bring in your own sticks due to their limited selection. However, you must spend a minimum of $20 dollars during your stay. Luckily, they are also an excellent steakhouse and whisky bar, with no problems spending past the minimum while there. They offer a unique experience compared to other lounges in the area.
Sounds like a nice spot, what city my friend?
If only, rules like these applied everywhere else...

I’ve always wondered if you can bring in your own cigar “not buying anything from the lounge” and still come in and smoke?
Its allowed, some lounges charge a cutting fee, they simply want you to support their lounge in some way.

What I like to think he means is no “pop” politics. I consider these topics front and center like boycotts, war, hot policies.
Where as topics like the embargo on Cuba or tax rates are much more tolerable conversations to have in such a setting.

Must you bring your own lighter and cutter or will lounges have those for you?
Lounges tend to have them but its a great practice to bring your own. Especially considering that some people lick their cigar before using the lounge cutter. I'm releasing a video soon on what to expect in a cigar lounge.

I'm the "fresh meat" at my local lounge and have earned my nickname (Mark the Dark maduro) amongst the regulars... in my short time on the lounge journey, I have found "women" are the worse offenders... especially the suburban "moms" who over compensate when trying to be heard by the men... it's laughable that it took 3 years of "Biden-nomics" for these gals to get "awoken". With all this being said, not once did you say anything about women. Cigar lounges are NOT just for men and hasn't been for some time. So Frater I'm a little disappointed that you kept saying for men.

Additionally, cigar smoke contains carcinogens such as benzene, formaldehyde, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are known to increase the risk of various cancers, including lung, oral, and esophageal cancers.
