    Singer Island was the first Ocean beach I ever stepped on. Born in Rochester New York in 1963, my grandparents were snowbirds to Singer Island from Rochester. At the time it had a game show on the beach at one of the hotels where contestants had to paddle through the water to little islands as they answered questions. At the time it was quite glamorous.

    Hello, I am a collector and know all the shells I find on the OBX and Gulf Coast but the rest I have to buy for my collection. I have the Lion's Paw seashells in my collection big and little. They are beautiful shells. When you cannot travel and love to collect seashells, you have to buy them. I also have many world shells. Thank you for an interesting video.

    I'm 42 I've seen the beach probably six times in my life just got back from Hilton Head 3 weeks ago with my sons and husband. I found a live sand dollar within 5 minutes of stepping on Coligny Beach and saved her put her back in the water that was the highlight of the entire trip I have a serious question what's the chances of finding this many shells on how many different beaches on the East Coast????? I only found a few on Coligny Beach. 🐚 🌴 🥥 🏖️ I'm hoping I can one day retire somewhere close to the beach. My entire bathroom is seashell beach coastal everything I Love learning about all the shells I live not far from Gatlinburg Tennessee I absolutely love your videos thank you so much for sharing

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi! Shelling can often be hit or miss. I always try to time my shell adventures around a low tide early in the morning(before others get to the beach - I've had the most luck this way). I will also say that I have shelled many time in SE Florida and found nothing(those videos don't get uploaded, lol)
      You can have good shelling days in SE Florida, but again, it's hit or miss. I hope you have been able to find some great shells!

    I thought that bean should have been included with best finds, 🤗. There's a guy in australia that finds these but they are teenywiencie compared to the one you found. And i just noticed there were no sandollars? Is there a reason for that? And oh last but not least, THANKYOU for the sunrise❣ Sorry for the surprize rain on you too. Super glad no lightening. 🥰

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! Is this Shellcade? Love his channel!
      I have never found sand dollars on the east coast of Florida... but I find them frequently when I am in south west Florida! I am not sure of the reason, but the Atlantic is much more rough than the Gulf of Mexico - something as fragile as a sand dollar most likely wouldn't make it to the beach on the east coast.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@solaceinshelling6552 , good early morning ! Why yes i do watch shellcadedownunder, 🤗. He is pretty sweet with his finds. He also discovered teenywiencies not that long ago too. Baby sandollars, carrier shells, n those ittybitty cowery looking shells like what you found! Yours was the biggest, impressive i thought! I watch for ur vids, sometimes i wish you would post more often but i understand u have a life too. Im gratefull to get what i can when u do post n yes, i rewatch past vids too still, lol. Its very satisfying/soothing to me. Im no where near a beach/ocean. Finding others isnt easy, especially abroad. Had one in malaysia but they quit due to college. Good for them but unlucky for me. The bluest n purplest coweries i ever saw there! They made sculptures out of broken shells too. Quite stunning they were!

    Another place to put on my list. Those lion’s paws were gorgeous. Bucket list shell. How do you find these great locations?

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi friend! I have been shelling for years, since I was 12(I am 38 now). I often do quite a bit of research before picking a location to explore(especially if it is a location that I have to travel to). The SE coast of Florida has always been of interest to me because the Gulf Stream helps to wash up awesome shells that you can't find(as easily) in other parts of the state. For me, shelling has never been about the destination, but rather the journey!
      Thanks for watching!

    So what's the best place in Florida to find shells this video is great we always find 1/2 shells and most of them look alike

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  Před rokem

      Hi friend! I'm not sure there is explicitly a best place to collect shells in Florida, but the best overall places to find shells in Florida are in southwest Florida - shelling is most consistent here.
      Good luck on your shell adventures!

      This was also filmed a couple years ago. These beaches are constantly changing and shell piles come and go. Hope you find some goodies!
