I thought I should mention a few things...
25m 10s - The corner of the building turns black (which can be seen when Adam gets crushed). Not only that but the tall building seen to the right collapses. Also Marcus and Dom can actually kick the door open to enter the Estate. Ended up being oversights.
16m 36s - From what I seen I believe a Brumak was meant to appear here?
Part Two overall more enemies can spawn but don't always do for whatever reason. Most notably in front of the Estate.
Marcus's line "You're the monster under my bed, right?" occurs when entering one of the bedrooms with a wretch inside waiting.

I think Marcus mentioning the “monster under the bed” part was a reference to Gears 1’s intro cutscene with the wretchs in the vents above his cell
I really hope the Gears of War remastered collection will come out and hopefully be on PC.

It's weird how much john dimaggio recorded his dialogue before the thing was scrapped.
It looks like it was canned pretty late in development. Aside from needing a final polishing and bug fixing pass, it’s not far from being done.
Plus, a lot of the dialogue already existed. Quite a bit of it is taken nearly one-to-one from _The Slab._ That must have sped development a bit.
The Biggest Moment in Gaming Lost Media History is This Cancelled DLC being found years later after people say that it was lost until today, it was found.
There's so much of gears of war that never got made so much wasted potential 😢

Tbh not sure if we'll see this part of the story where Marcus disobeyed orders in gears of war E-day but if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.

@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 Yeah, chronologically it makes sense for this part to be a bonus act of sorts since we’ll be starting from day one in Gears Of War E-Day.
This, and the DLC where you play as Barrick shows how much it sucks to fight the locust. The Cog can construct defensive lines and be well entrenched only for the locust to emerge within 10 feet of it, nearly negating the advantage entirely.
It's what truly made them a fearsome and overwhelming opponent they had a stupid high advantage, nevermind the fact they had brumaks corpsers and seeders, they had the literal spawn advantage. Ironically humanity was fighting such an uphill battle, them deploying the hammer of dawn proves it so much
@@freeziboi3249 Fr, not to mention Berserkers. If I was a gear I'd rather fight a Brumak, while it might take thousands of rounds, small arms fire can kill them, a berserker on the other hand can't be damaged unless it's an incendiary weapon like a flame thrower or the hammer.
@0-R0B1N-0 no kidding what they lack in sight they make up for their sense of smell and hearing as well as their brute strength and speed. And facing just one is tough enough. I still remember how I get so tense when stealthily going around a berserker through that greenhouse facility just to bring down the glass before using the hammer of dawn. And that other time carefully getting that other Berseker to pave the way out just before I could light it up

@0_Dallas_0 You actually can kill berserkers without the hammer or a flamethrower, you just have to shoot it an insane amount of times. Personally accomplished this in the games during coop, took a long time though lol.

Or maybe a dlc that takes place in the hollows where the locust prepare to take over the surface with raam leading them. They could even have a locust vs lambent dlc where raam fights uzil sraak just like in the comics!

This is _awesome._ Most of the dialogue is right out of The Slab, the novel that shows what happened that got Marcus in prison. Some of the dialogue is word for word from the book; Karen Traviss, one of the writers for GoW3, wrote The Slab, so it’s to be expected.
Karen is the reason characters like Jace and Hoffman are still alive vs being originally slated to die in Gears 3. She really helped shaped the franchise.
@@Burning-TwilightTBH Jace has not appeared in-game since 3 so her big current contribution is managing to convince the team to keep Hoffman alive through 3.
@@user-xx7kl7sr6i The reason Jace hasn't appeared in game again is more than likely because of his VA being a famous celebrity. Jordans schedule is undoubtedly very busy so they probably are just keeping his character in the background till they can somehow get Jordan in the studio.

@@deldude1412 Yeah at first I found it strange Jace of all people became a celebrity, then after awhile it was more than likely a real life reference to his VA and how busy he is.
I still shutter knowing at one point Drake the rapper was meant to be Jaces VA before Jordan, but the only reason he didn't was because he was too busy at the time. Knowing all the messed up stuff Drake has been accused of I'm glad such a thing never happened.
This was a around 9-10 years later. After Markus disobeyed his orders. Mjr. Thomas and his squad were over run. Loosing the bridge. And the city of Ephera.
He was captured court marshalled. Then he was sent to the Slab prison, to serve a 40-year sentence.
But only served 4. That's when Gears 1 starts off. 14 years after E-day. Even when Hoffman wanted to leave Markus to die to the Locust.
Dom convinced Hoffman to pardon Markus. Even getting given Jack to help him cut Markus out.
This DLC should've been in the game. 😢

Hoffman did have some regret for how harsh he was to Marcus and the trial itself. Also, he thought if the trial didn't happen Marcus would've been a good replacement for himself.

The entire trilogy shows Hoffman sending Marcus to Court Martial accidentally set him in the path that would end the Locust War, something he couldn't end. In a way, Marcus ended up being his replacement in the situations that needed a Coronel-grade mind on the field for abnormal situations like deciding to end the rift worm or how to safely reach the basement of the Fenix state.

Do remember that the cut part 1 was later used in Gears of War The Slab prequel novel to Gears of War 1, and with the two or three ending chapters of the novel end at the beginning of Gears of War 1.

This had so much potential
When i read the title i thought it wasn't real and it was a recently created Mod, but i had my doubts since all the Mods i have seen in Gears of War are always for Gears 1 and i haven't seen a Campaign Mod in 10 years.
Discovering that this is real and there was an extra DLC for Gears of War 3 set again before the Jacinto flood and in the so famous Ephyra that is talked about so much in comics and novels makes me very sad, i always loved the architecture of Tyro, something truly imposing that showed the power of the COG and at the same time, the overwhelming force that the Locust were when destroying such strong and monumental buildings in seconds, the number of vehicles and soldiers that the COG has and the way in which the Locust confront them in effective way.
This kind of things made me forgive Gears of War Judgment and enjoy it, since we can see all the architecture of Tyrus in its maximum greatness just having passed a few months since E-Day, probably being this DLC reused for Halvo Bay and not wasting nothing that Epic Games had already done for it.
We were even able to see the axe-throwing animation, something i'd heard about years ago among the scrapped content for Gears of War 3.
This video is a gem and i hope the community join for this and then, help with it like being able to extract other things from other games such as the Nemacyst models or the animations of Hoffman and Marcus talking in Gears 1 to finish this DLC and be able to fully enjoy it, because with those Levels being located in Ephyra we can see the entire Locust force and the entire COG force face each other directly, with some luck even The Coalition itself realizes this and decides to officially bring this DLC from the ashes for Gears of War E-Day.
I appreciate that some things like the Fenix Mansion were reused for Escalation and we were able to see the back of the Mansion that we didn't get to see in The Long Way Home in Gears of War 1, i would never have forgiven Epic Games for abandoning something so good, fully made and so nostalgic.

I think this could've been shortened down and used in the acutal campaign, showing in more detail the situation that lead to Marcus being imprisoned. I just can't believe were something as awesome as this in Gears of War 3.
I’m really hoping they add this in the Marcus fenix collection or E-Day.. this would’ve been amazing to see how Marcus ended up in jail in the first entry

ive noticed they kind of reused certain parts for raams shadow right? dlc with a focus on Jace, the first cog base being invaded reminds me of the first part of raams dlc too. 11:19 pretty sure they also reused that brumak sequence
Assets from this sequence were used for RAAM’s shadow, not the other way around.

It was actually expanded on in the Gears of War The Slab novel, where Gears of War E-Day is more like where it all began with the Locusts of where they first attacked humanity.

Gears of war 3… aka fortnite 0. Lots of good memories in the gears 3 beta rolling around with the sawed off. I also got the gold sawed off for beating the first game on insane I think.

The Locust are like the monster form of the Viet Cong, you can think you're safe in an entrenched position with clear sight lines for defense then out of nowhere hole open up 10ft away and here come grenades and Locust firing like crazy.

It takes place 9-10 years after E-day. But just after Raam's shadow. Due to the Jacinto platue. The Locust couldn't tunnel to Ephera. So stuck taking cities head on.

that's not possible, they wouldn't have planned that far in advance. It's more likely they intended for this DLC episode to appear in Judgement after it didn't appear in GOW3 but for whatever reason, it didn't.

Nope, it was intended for the cleavers to be throwable, but I'm guessing they had issues programming this or they thought it was too easy to score kills this way.
