To see the progression of big streamers, as pronounced by this video, is truly awesome. Really enjoyed this! Now we usually swing by Kelly’s shop once a month on the Madison and tie mostly Kelly’s patterns for our streamers.

Where im from in central Alberta, we have some nice big brown trout. We used to get them on floating rapala plugs. So i use big streamers now basically the sane idea.

While Fly Fishing South Lake out of Bishop, CA years ago I made the mistake of using to light of test. I lost what turned out to be a 12.3lb brown. I know this because while I was re-rigging my line a friend of mine put his fly right into the same hole and caught what I lost. I was really hoping he would release it so I might have a chance the next day but he decided to keep it and take it home to show his kids. I am still kicking myself for telling him where and what broke my line. I learned never to use 6lb test on a 6w rod again. I had only been fly fishing for a few years and learned to keep my mouth shut from then on.

I use 6lb line to catch 20lb cutthroat on tiny midge flies. Quality line with no knicks or abrasions, and quality knots gets it done.

Wow, Kelly must have found a time machine, or you guys went way back into the archives. 2001 was a while ago. Unfortunately for us Michiganders Kelly decided he liked Montana better. Oh well we still have lots of good guides. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
