Skipping a split along the bottom works very well. Use it for salmon and steelhead too. I usually run a single fly setup that way I don’t have any more junctions above the main fly. Which is crucial when 10-12lb steelhead take and especially coho which will go right for the logs. I run 14lb test when doing this method. And usually my split is on about 10lb test.

You ought to mention that viewers should check local regs. Drop shot on moving water is illegal in California.

Flexing your wrist during a back cast or a forward cast will NOT improve line speed or distance - it will only create a bigger loop - and a shorter cast.

Minimizing the amount of time a fish is under duress is to the benefit of a released fish. Good video. I show people how little of the pressure felt in the rod handle is actually tansferred to the tippet by having them hold the tippet as I pull back on the rod bending it deeply . I also see too many people using far to light tippet. Keep upmthe goodmwork with your posts. Tight lines!

No mention of the ecological disaster that took place when these non-native trout and salmon were introduced in Chili, displacing local fish species. This is a similar scenario to the invasive carp in the U.S.A...

So, you cant make these casts using standard weight forward floating trout line?
