Agree. I have no problem with the fact that it is staged. It is kinda cute, bathrobe and cofee. But the crew have the same facial expressions, as an assistants to lion tamer in a circus, standing on the ring's edge with guns ready. I'm sure the guy on a couch holds his ipad upside down :)
@@repr26 Truely posh british people are actually this wierd and occasionally this obsessed with tea. The rest of us just hate the weather and love it when someone throws a pie at a politician (or Jeremy Clarkson)
Now I finally get it! Guess I'm a little dense. After watching this video like three times, in a monohull you might be doing 12 knots and all of your tea service would be on the floor in shards. This vessel does 20 + knots and the teacups and saucers are all still on the table, without anyone having to hang on to them. Yes, maybe tea does taste better when you're not maximally heeled over and only doing 12 knots. A relaxed, fast sail with nothing crashing to the floor - yeah, the whole world looks a whole lot better...
What monohull does 12kts? A production cat would do 12kts in those conditions, a mono would be more in the 6-9kt category and yes be plenty heeled over.
@Jakob Rarer than you think ... and esp these days modern systems can be set to de power a cats sail rig if things start getting close to the edge faster than all but the best crew could get it back czcams.com/video/px7DTH1Z4u0/video.html. Watch this through. Though the Helmsman still has the wheel.. and its still less likely to sink than a monohull. Highly entertaining though they must have had to wait to find a patch of sea that smooth with that much wind 😂 Point made 😂😎 and no ones getting cold wet tired or skin cancer .
Obviously a remarkable experience that we monohull sailors have never experienced. Twould better interesting to take tea at 19 knots in a stiff breeze. Thanks for sharing. I expect to try it some time.
i;ve seen the same people doing exactly the same thing at a marina dock ie reading a paper back, looking at an ipad etc. the boat is just a passing novelty for the idle rich, real credit goes to the designers and builders for their skill and diligence.
Looks as if they are all having a wonderful, exciting time. Maybe a little tea will calm everything down a bit. After I lay a golden egg, maybe I'll go topside and join them.
This is sailing how it should be. No leaning, no Cold water splashing over you, comfy cup of coffe. And of course the speed. What more can one ask for?
At least 4500 years. And I'm counting. :) And that doesn't even include whatever type of floating devices or primitive boats that were used during the Neolithic.
It's a bit disturbing. Tea at 20 knots. Can you imagine what the new GP80 is like? All the tech in the new foil designs, the lifting dagger boards, etc. I fully expect to see tea at 30 knots as a follow up video aboard the new 80 footer.
Yeah, I love the idea of owning a Gunboat for some high performance cruising... but they build them so big, and they cost so much... it's mostly out of reach for all but the top 1-2% income earners. I want the technologies and designs that Gunboat is pushing to come down in size (where's the 35-to-40-footer??) and price, otherwise it's just out of reach barring a lottery win.
Hello fellow humans, have you considered the new TS5 or the old TS42 by marsaudon composites great value for the performance. i really like the outremer 5x as well but thats another bump in price over the TS range. and remember only CNN can recharge a NPC batteries
Everything I payed my attention is sounds of cups and teaspoons. Looks like they acting hard to show us calmness and comfortable atmosphere just before camera. Good job, try to believe in false
@@ZaphodOddlybullsh!t, sail a few cats some time, there's something called reefing, this has the incredible effect of reducing speed to suit the sea state and wind speeds. 8 to 10 foot sea is nothing for a big cat like that
They are trying so hard to be casual, it's hell a funny😂
Billyboy monohullers are so jealous

Gunboat is a South African company. The culture is heavily influenced by British custom. That is casual for them.

A speed that is simply unachievable in most other boats. Doing it in his housecoat too. Classic!
faster in a hobie cat at a fraction of the price.
@@Don-co9zs But can the hobie cat cross oceans in the comfort of a well appointed condo..?
Good boat, bad actors!

@Jakob 👍 🤣🤣🤣
I'd say that in a mono the tea would be on the wall, not on the floor.

Love it I must admit.
This is frickin Hilarious. As a bonus, Toby's hair looks like he was hanging his head out the window for a bit.

That’s the way you do it. Perching outside is for the birds! 😄
Toby, I'm sure your mother taught you not to tap the spoon on the edge of the best china...
One of my favorites!
This is a space ship. Great boat, congratulations to the actors.

looks like a dentist office in there
That's the problem with this younger generation they just like to sit indoors all day long as the world passes by. ;-)
Oh man, these people, there really going places. 🤣
I would be lying if I didn't think sailing and steering at 20 knots while sipping a cup of tea in my bathrobe is pretty sweet.
🇧🇷👀🙈cheers from Brazil!
Just a storm in a tea cup :)
İ still see your anxiety on your eyes

so we did it wrong for the past 2000 years?
Not really, the polynesians figured it out a long time ago, maybe 2000 Years?
3500 years. But who's counting? :P
yea really, but damn I think they are drinking tea not coffe!

Awesomeness!...what we don't see is the poor trimmer grinder on deck in the rain....i'd do it happily....put my tea in a travel mug :)
One big advantage on a sailboat is to pull up the volume and listen to music without disturbing neighbours. With literally no heeling its partytime 😻😻
" SWEET " good way to travel !!!
I'm looking for your testing Gunboat 68. That's Catamaran is perfect.
Very well done. Shame not everyone gets the joke!
Excellent ha ha haaa not many words needed
Now that is how you market a boat.
Is there a discount if I order more than one at a time?
Wow... so spacious. 22 knots and not lifting a hull. Awesome boat.
And for 5 million dollars you can get one too.
How many tea sets you took with for this shoot.
Does it sail upwind?
the wonders of Blu-Tack....
How does she do in a chop such as Buzzards Bay, or perhaps Long Island Sound? Don’t get me wrong down south great boat
Do people still have tea time (aka time for tea)?
Awesome!
Super glue on the saucers ?
My next home!
Amazing
Honey, did you remember the Gray Poupon? Whilst circumcising a young child bouncing around at 20 knotts ....
awesome !!! ...
Should have closed the doors to add to the ambiance 😄
Talk about rhyming with anchors!
Gunboat cat's at 2014 Dubai boat show?
I want a new 68 defenetly
Yes please
Did the helmsman get wet? Why is he all of a sudden wearing a bathrobe? Or were there other kinky activities at play... ?
Kinky activities are always at play on a gunboat.
Badass!!
Classic!
awesome
Woah what a flex
WOW!!!!!!
@villadeco hahaha completly right
:-))))) so cool !
Imagine you hit a wall at that speed ;-) :-)

Not jealous, hope Toby gets the hiccups… 🙂
Hilarious. LOL!
Where is the Tray Poopon Mustard James?
what do you do if it tips over?
Que haces en tu casa si hay un terremoto?¿
Don't spill the tea !!!!

Yes that'd be nice - except this first 80 is a real racing machine. Maybe no2 will be a little more cruising civilised and we can hopefully try that!
1:05 quintessentially British.
Nice! Can I get a cappuccino?
well, the sea is a s flat as a pancake so im not sure what yall are on about?
nice
