a lot of people do that, hahaha!! just check out more of the first class & bespoke airline lounge and air passenger services videos! and can't remember the title but there's one in L.A. that even offers their high end customers a car & driver who takes them to an apartment on or near the airport grounds..a nice one filled with food & drinks & sweets..they have only a few so reservations are required..unless it's an unplanned, last minute request and one gets lucky that one is available ..so, no trying to get comfortable, waiting during a long layover or hours for a rescheduled flight. 😐

If you're going to splurge on 1st class, the best is really is Emirates .... You can shower, you get your own personal space too like what you had, but you can eat steaks as many as you want!

Mugen Taisen, well I didn't make that number up... I searched that airlines first class tickets from my state to Taiwan when I watched this video and I got 18k. I was curious at how much these tickets would cost me.
actually JFK to ICN roundtrip in F on KAL is around 18k USD. so one way is 9k USD. also keep in mind that the A380 is has open Kosmo Suite and 747i has Kosmo Suite 2.0 with the doors. There is a difference in seating layout in business as well. The newer Pretige suite is pretty sweet. However the difference between Prestige and First on KAL, while being 3x in cash price, is only 25% more with miles. So when booking with cash, book Prestige, and use the miles to book in F. When looking at the complete picture, 160k miles+$300 cash for this itinerary, hard and soft product is cheap AF. If I was flying to Asia, I would just take this and connect at ICN. Another cheap option is JFK-ICN on Asiana business using ANA miles, again connecting in ICN to your final dest. I think it is about 95k(!!) roundtrip, which is another bargain. All in all, the Korean carriers provide the best redemption value for premium cabin from US to Asia.

Were you already in Business Class before you got upgraded? Because it's almost unheard of for a premium airline like Emirates to upgrade passengers directly from Economy Class to First Class.

The plane's first class cabin furniture looks like it was designed and installed by an office furniture supplier.
I wanted to travel when I was younger but at almost 60, I'm content keeping both feet on the ground. That written, it's wonderful to travel vicariously through your youtube channel, Mike. You make a truly informational and entertaining tour of different types of travel, living accommodations and cuisine.

I don’t mean to pee in your Cheerios, but that lounge was a JOKE. That is the least impressive first class lounge I’ve ever witnessed. No staff. No work areas/ports. No showers or sleeping areas. And 7-Eleven food??! Ummm.

Obviously these two commenters dont know anything about international travel or airports. Instant ramen does not, ever, belong to a first class lounge. I'm pretty sure Koreans are able to produce actual fresh authentic Korean food, soups, dumplings, kimchi, bibimbap, all fresh and steaming with a side of international foods and pastries to go with the Korean buffet, wine, soju, champagne and other drinks. That is what many not even first class lounges have, the lounge was like a sad dark conference room that someone forgot existed, despicable

When flying, always dress for a top business meeting and eventually you'll be upgraded. I've received three top upgrades and even my own masseuse etc. I was disappointed when I had no limo chauffeur though! Haha.

The water in that small cup is actually pretty standard... We get that with economy meals in Saudia Airlines...
the water is standard as well for korean air even if you're in economy you still get it.

Considering being a first class lounge I expected WAY more I mean when I flew British airways business class there was a full on a kitchen and we also had access to the first class area and it was like a restaurant and like fuzzy chairs
At my airport they have a lounge for veterans. And since my dad is in the army I have been there. The lounge had really nice chairs and the food where hamburgers, hotdogs,dounuts, sandwiches, candy, and more. It's amazing!

+Stephanie Moran Blue Lagoon is a MUST! They also have a week of music in Reykjavik every year if you enjoy music try to go that week if you don't like crowds then avoid that week. I suggest renting a car and doing the golden circle one day or at least take the bus tour. It is easy to drive. Not much traffic. If you take the northern lights tour, you can keep going back if you don't see the lights every night for free. We went 3 times. Have fun. It is amazing.
+Stephanie Moran For the flight. Iceland air is awesome. If you pay the extra $$ to get the extra leg room. First class is usually only $100 more and you get lounge access, inflight meal (very good, we had ribeye on the way there.) and the seats were good.
First is always worth it to me and that price is totally doable. I'm super spoiled...my dad worked for United my whole life so growing up we almost always got bumped up to First or Business.

Although he has since experienced better service with Qatar Business Class, this was an exciting new experience for him at the time.
This video in a way marks the start of a new chapter in his CZcams career where he became known as an international foodie which resulted in a new level of fame.

When I was moving, my parents wanted to make it special, so we got first class tickets, there was no difference except they served you food, it was terrible.

Having travelled First Class, it was always due to a free upgrade.
My advise to anybody reading this, if you're travelling alone, always dress for a business meeting. I've been approached and upgraded three times, and aside from the chauffeur limo, you receive exactly the same service.
Depends on the threads you wear . It won't work if your suit is dirt cheap and looks like it too .

It actually depend on what airline you use when taking first class. If you took business class, one class higher than first class there will always be a buffet in the lounge

Also depends on the length, how much you like to sleep and what food you like. It's ok because you get to watch a load of movies and tv shows but you can't really sleep because there are small children including babies on board and the food isn't that great

Thank you, dropped first class from my bucket list. Haven't seen to many vids that i thought were relatable, or just as pleasant as yours. You try anything and most everything for the experience and your audience. Your not so prissy, that you relate how this encounter would be if it were me. Except yes I would have had some whiskey, a whiskey sour if they had it. Those Shin noodles to me are like peach pie to others. Both a comfort food and pay mine dollars in Oregon to have here and there. I enjoyed every minute! With the differences, I think we are twenty years apart is all.

+Mr Mistro When you fly often, sometimes they bump you up to first class just to fill the seats. It's one of the best notices in life.

I’ve not flown them first class, but I’ve flown coach on Korean several times (NYC to Seoul), and they are by far my favorite airline. I’m hoping to have enough points for an upgrade next time around... and Inchon in my favorite airport...

That's terrible for first class lounge. Even business class for other bigger airlines you get full buffet at the lounges
jeanchristie it’s just a secondary lounge at an airport that’s not even a hub for Korean Airlines.
Yup I live in Germany. And the lounges there for business class is way better then that lounge.
I was a custodian and we would fold the toilet paper like that so it showed that the bathroom was cleaned.

One of the best features of Korean's first class is the air vent! So many airlines don't have them in premium cabins anymore :(
