I spoke to Baard after the concert and although he was using quality Vic Firth sticks he was shredding his sticks because they were too thin. Baard plays with intensity and passion so he now uses a heavier Vic Firth model. I had him sign one for my collection. And it’s A Cello playing the counter melody
Thank you for reacting to my suggestion. I had to take some downtime for a while, but I'm eager to catch up with your reactions. I think that the live version might have been a better one for a first listen, but you got the point.
The strange sound you hearing around 18 min is the sound produced by headstock strings (in guitar nut area). In live version of the song at least
Leprous have gone through quite significant changes sound-wise over the years.
If you check them out again, something from one of their older albums might be a better suit, based on the rest of your channel.

The two songs you've listened to came from the album after Malina, which marked a big move away from their older prog metal roots - Malina really shows the start of this move, but it keeps heavier guitars - something their last two albums feature very little of.
I'm not trying to say "New leprous sucks, their older stuff is way better", but I do think to give this band a fair listen, you need to check out their older stuff too, because they sounded a lot different in the past.
I second all of these. The drumming in the price blows me away every time
the high pitch "ring" guitar sound you questioned, is the pick being used to strum the strings above the nut near the headstock.

I'm so confused with your choices. There is The Sky is Red (official 'Live' video) on YT. You get to see the whole band & experience live along with the song.
For the record, I didn't choose anything. All of the videos I use are specifically selected by the requesters. The requester provides me with a link to the exact video they want me to use. It's their request, they pick the video, I just use it. I have no say at all in the video I use.

Yeah this song is a bit too long the first few times. Then you wish it was longer. Really gotta check out some of their shorter ones ;)
They are definitely an acquited taste, I couldn't stand them the first ten times I heard them, now I find it hard to want to listen to anything else. And I say this as someone who has played every tool album twice a week since Aenima came out. For more of a single feel, check out From the flames, or Illuminate. Illuminate if you like the drumming :) or Rewind, the drums in that are up there, not as musical, but probably more technical than Carey.
They definitely have a steep curve tho, I couldn't handle Einars voice. Then the drumming drew me in and I love his voice now. Fuck I rant, this is how much I love the damn band now. Lol

See now this is the 2nd leprous song on your channel that is not really LEPROUS.. lol. like the first one you did was one of their worst songs. and this one was a drum reaction. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do "Slave" or "Nighttime disguise" next, and you'll be a Leprous fan. I guarantee a 9+ rating from you. Yes, I'm happy with that. *queue the rating music*. But seriously tho, trust me. pls. love your channel btw. below 30k subs but better than 1M+ reactions channels.
This is the best Leprous song ive heard by far imo, but its all subjective of course

As someone who loves Leprous, I'm not sure who you are to say this isn't really Leprous.
I could just as easily say Slave and Nighttime Disguise aren't Leprous. Mediocrity Wins or Mirage could be real Leprous. Or The Valley. The Sky is Red is personally my favorite but Malina is my favorite album

That being said, I do agree that he should gander at their earlier and heavier stuff, since that's more his personal jam.
I don't know why people think this is a good song to introduce leprous, the drumming is incredible but it is so monotonous. There are so many better ones to get a feel for the band... (Silent Revelation, Running Low, Castaway Angles would all be better)
I agree completely with the first part of your comment, but do not at all agree with your choices, as I find them to be some of the more boring and uninspired Leprous Songs. Especially for first timers The Price is pretty much always the best intro, imo. Most Songs from congregation or mailina are good starting points. From there on either work backwards or both ways :D
