To anyone that wants to try out filamenting, bring several filaments. I usually bring 5 since they're pretty cheap. If you end up somewhere without things you can engage, or the area is too spicy, you can just filament again once the timer is over.

If I find myself not being able to find folk in Nullsec, I set my map setting to jumps in the last hour. Higher numbers usually point me in the direction of some content. Great effort!
Good try :) I would strongly suggest learning to use hotkeys and manually piloting in pvp. The important thing is you did learn what your immediate cause of death was in this instance.
I love flying a wolf in nanogang roams, feels so reactive - You can run forward tackle with a scout and then chip away shields whilst you wait for your friends to follow suit. Some of the most fun I've had in Eve is in wolf gang roams.
Solo pvp is tough. I usually used a cloaked Sabre. Manually pilot to the middle of a gate and cloak. Id sit on a gate at a choke point system. You can pick your targets that way. Since the warp bubble doesn't need to target. The best way to find targets is to go a staging system for a alliance.

There are also a possibility to set handy hotkeys to orbit/keep at range
Noise-5 filament takes you active null sec space, but you actuality activate a Signal-5 filament...
Noise is for quiet parts, signal is for where party is.

I don't think it was just all mistake! The reason zaqq says don't engage Ishtars is not because Ishtars are so badass (which they are, don't get me wrong) it is the drones! The Wolf's weak stop seems to be higher level drones.

Always come to horde space, that is where you will find the most content

Just set the default orbit range before engaging, hold W and click on him. eve 101 :D
You should manual pilot, setting a default well lose you kills and get you blown up.
My first PVP caused me excitment that that's a definite kill my definite first kill, but what he did was just kept his own speed tanking and the gate guns of lowsec got me before I killed the target...
Latter I was wondering why did I forgot that there are gate sentry turret which are targeting me, why didn't I jumped the gate while I could have when I knew I am losing the ship etc
if the gate guns were on to you, means you triggered the fight, and would still need to wait out a full minute after de-aggressing before you could even jump the gate
Yes attacking a ishtar with a thing smaller than destroyer is instand suicide. Mostly they fitter with 2x armor reps and battery so neuting is difficult and the drones are pain in the ass

for next time try to manual pilot more ^^ commands are good to get initial tackle but ideally all you should rly on is manual piloting ^^
hey, its really not easy to find good fights in null. most of the space is pretty empty or very crowded and good defended. i dont like the filaments, for me they only have me jumped to empty or overpopulatet areas. so it was like empty 40 jumps back home or get killed instantly. for me (atlest) its working good by finding a system where is some traffic from highsec now and than. there usually are people/groups for pvp allready there. at first it may seem suiscidal, but after a while you get to know who belongs to who, who gonna just blap you and who is comming from outside on now "your" (known, and bookmarked ^^) territory. getting cool fights, getting blapped, and sometimes getting lucky killing bad fitted pve ships worth way too much :D

I've had a few fun fights there. Having combat probes is extremely useful. Only thing is, the 50% warp speed penalty can make it hard to catch things in time if your ship warps slow already.
Needle is the wrong one. That is to go where there is less action

@@Aceyface it's only by making mistakes that ppl actually learn, arguably more true in EVE than in Real Life lol...
But yeah, no veteran PVP pilot got where they are without making PLENTY of possibly even dumber mistakes along their way. It's just the way the game goes, there's just soooo many different mechanics involved that can either help you secure a kill, or die horribly instead. Although by far the most annoying for a Solo pilot would be the Friendship Mechanic ( ^w^)
