Welcome to this side of the pond. You’ll love Toronto. Try to visit Quebec City, too, if you can. As to that 4 a.m. wake up call, just remember it’s 9 a.m. in Anglesey! 😀
Hi George I'm already home and been recording at the weekend back in Snowdonia! But I aim to return to Canada before too long so will definitely be looking at additional places to visit 😊👍🏻
David - Blimey, that brought back a few memories - lived in Toronto and smaller Ontario towns for a number of years and returned to the UK for family member's health reasons in 1979. The view of the City is similar to what you'd have from the Toronto Islands. I was back for a week's holiday in approx. 2000 and I remember playing pool and drinking beer at a craft brewery near the CN Tower - could even have been the same place as you! Some fantastic images and a different perspective to your usual photography, David, not even one B&W thank goodness.
Hello Jack, thanks for watching and getting in touch. Black and white doesn't feature much in my work as a rule. Really enjoyed Toronto, much more than I expected too for a country boy! 😊👍🏻
@@DGriffGallery Sorry David it wasn't personal - I meant some of the other vloggers who cover Snowdonia & Anglesey - too much B&W in their arsenal. I see in colour and you use it well!
Not many hills David, perhaps Niagara will feel more like home. The views across to the city centre - tall buildings, lots of water - are vaguely similar to Perth WA although there it’s the Swan River not a lake. Looks as if you enjoyed it, thanks for taking us along.
I always love and hate when great photographers visit Toronto. I love it because the world gets to appreciate some of my favourite photography spots, but I hate it (only jokingly of course) because I realize how much work I still need to do with my own images! I really enjoyed this video, and you inspire me to go out and try new techniques. I really haven't done much with ND filters. Can't wait to see the rest of your trip in future videos!
Hi Andy, thanks so much for tuning in and taking the time to get in touch. It's about the best thing I like to hear - that someone is more inclined to get out and enjoy some photography as a result of what I get up to. Brilliant - and you do have a great location and area to shoot 😊👍🏻
I'm new to the channel. I live in Windsor ON (a border city that connects to the USA via Detroit MI) and am originally from Toronto. The comment about flagpoles really cracked me up!!!! I'll have to go down to the riverside and photograph some of the flags for you. It's always interesting to get a visitors perspective on the places that we take for granted.
Thanks a lot Guy. In hindsight I think you're right. At the time I was more interested in the lake, but when I got the images onto my computer I realised the potential in the building. Guess I'll just have to pop back!! 😊👍🏻
Wow, DG ! I didn't know you had this gem of a destinatation in your reppa twah! Toronto was the second foreign destination I ever went, in November '89 (Munich, in Jan '89 was the first). The view of tall buildings, by Lake Ontario on the drive in from the airport blew me away! I mean Manchester is a decent size, but this city was on another level! Loved it!!! As soon as I got my first passport, in 1988, I wanted to visit all those wonderful foreign destinations. I loved our annual summer holidays in Rhyl to bits, don't get me wrong, but it's a BIG world, ain't it? All the best, from Yokohama :)
Looks n sounds a great trip in great company. Just watching the lake behind you in some of the footage I too would find that totally baffling without the sea salt feel/smell, it's something I suppose that many from the UK would find weird - it looked a huge expanse of water, which of course it is. The Great Lakes don't get that name for nothing innit..lol. Never looked it up but I suppose Wales as a country would fit inside at least a couple of those lakes although unsure on Lake Ontario? Anyway, looking forward to the next instalment of your trip.
Hi mate - it's not quite that big although west to east it's longer than the run from Fishguard to Chepstow!! And north / south would easily swallow everything from Brecon down to the Gower! And the other 4 lakes are on a similar scale. Niagara is colossal with over 20% of the entire planet's fresh water running through it!! 😊👍🏻
You look as if you are having a ton of fun. So interesting to see your morning cityscapes! Stunning! The approach to exposing these photographs is very instructional. Cheers.
Great watch, looks like you guys had a great experience. Loved those long exposures of the Toronto skyline and that mackerel sky...wow. A good job you got the shot before the bloke parked his bike!! Really looking forward to Niagra from the images I've seen
What a great video. You got some great images there from some beautiful locations. So nice to see the Toronto skyline again , really need to get back over there. Looking forward to your next installment 👍
We visited Toronto and Niagara 5 years ago but only had a few hours in the city. The scale of the lakes is amazing but Niagara was fantastic, looking forward to seeing what you come up with there.
Toronto is a great city for photography!
That's very true. I wasn't sure what to expect from the days around the planned visit to Niagara, but I found I enjoyed it a great deal! 😊👍🏻

Wonderful light on those buildings 📷😀
Cheers Mark, it was very brief though, not used to having to work that fast 😳👍🏻

Niagara was impressive, but this weekend just gone it was good to be by myself in a tent on Y Garn. No place like home 😊👍🏻

What a great video.
It looked like you really enjoyed your 1st day in Canada and the cityscape shots were superb
Looking forward to the next one 👍
Cheers mate! I was a bit worried about whether I could cope with urban stuff, but it was good fun in the end 😊👍🏻
D Griff Gallery you can take the man out of the mountains.......😉

Cheers Norm. Well, we don't have quite so many in the UK! 😁👍
Trouble is with me once I saw the craft brewery that would be the end of photography haha 😂,great vlog David
Haha that’s why we left beer time until we’d finished the arty stuff! 😊👍🏻
Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing
You're very welcome as always Tony 😊👍🏻
Enjoyed the vlog David enjoy the rest of your trip!
Thanks for watching Carl, lots more to come 😊👍🏻
Great video and some cracking shots David looks like a fabulous place to shoot. Not too sure about that cloudy beer though.
Hahaha yeah I was a bit worried when they brought it round, and there were a few like that at other places. But it was actually quite drinkable! 😊👍🏻
A great example of working the scene. I think that waterworks building is a great photo subject. Cheers indeed.

You should see the US side of the lake when the right storm is moving across it. I've watched a few fools break their boards surfing into rocks.
Blimey! 😊👍🏻
Hello David, lovely to know that your on this side of the big pond. You'll love Niagra. That's about 2 hours north of me. Enjoyed your Toronto images.
Cheers Dennis. I've know the US east and west coasts pretty well, but this was my first time in Canada 😊👍🏻
Just wonderful, thanks so much really good to see you outside of Snowdonia. Hopefully Niagra will be good too. Enjoy your trip
H, thanks a lot for tuning and commenting - always appreciate your support! 😊👍🏻

We visited Toronto and Niagara 5 years ago but only had a few hours in the city. The scale of the lakes is amazing but Niagara was fantastic, looking forward to seeing what you come up with there.
Hi Alan, we were very lucky with the dawn light at Niagara, but not sure how well I caught it! 😊👍🏻
🏆
Thanks Yasmine 😊👍🏻
