Bought my SE in May ’16. Battery down at 82% and barely lasts the day with moderate use. I love it’s size and manageability, so will be treating myself to the 12 Mini Q1 of 2021. The advantages over the SE 2020 well worth the price difference 👍🏻

I love how ppl still dont understand what the original se’s purpose.
Its a budget phone reusing older design/parts but updated internals. Period
The fact that the se was smaller than the 6 series had nothing to do with the se trying to be a smaller phone. It just so happened that the manufacturing process still had enough resources to produce something in the iphone 5 form factor and rather than keep selling older phones, they repackaged and rebranded.
So the se 2020 is true to the purpose, reusing old parts/design with updated internals to sell a cheap phone.

The SE is also a great 2nd (3rd?) phone for gig workers (Or Uber/Lyft/Eats/DoorDash/GrubHub etc) that like you use a separate phone for work, or even for those who multi-app and like to run multiple phones for multiple apps.
Using an XR as my main phone currently and my old 8 Plus as a work phone. Thinking of getting the SE to replace my 8 Plus now (available from Walmart for AT&T for $249 which is an excellent price) and waiting until the 13 (or whatever comes out next year) so I can pick up the 12 Pro for a reduced price.

I havent used an iphone since the 3gs, which lasted for 6 years surprisingly, or maybe i loved it too much to go off if, but my experience of face ID on the ipad pro has been super pleasant. Ive seen my friends raising their iphones to a certain angle for it to work, maybe on the older models, which looked ridiculous. Hwever on the ipad pro, its immediate, i dont have to position it in any way, and if the attention thing is disabled, it unlocks even if u arent looking at it directly. It works brilliantly. With glasses, without glasses, no difference, its accurate, and is super fast. Im sure the mask will make a difference, but so does a wet finger on touch id.

I prefer touch ID, most places don't have 5G yet. Even though, "shockingly" , the newest Iphone is the greatest Iphone ever, the 12 mini is not $400 better than the Iphone SE 2020, not even close.

@@jayh40515 Hey Jay, thanks very much for the info. Also, I'm thinking of upgrading to 12 mini from my iPhone 6s, which seems to work well for me because they're similar in size and build and 12 mini will obviously be far better. Would you recommend the same? I used to use the SE1, but that one apparently got spoilt so I switched back to my 6S. But now, my 6S also has a crack filled screen and I'll be heading to University (shifting countries!) this Dec-Jan, so it is essential I get a new and latest model phone for the next 2-4 years. In such a case, I feel like the 12 mini works perfectly for me, because it is more updated and latest than the SE2020. And yes ofcourse, I'm not saying that the 12 mini is 400$ better than the SE2 either, I'm just saying that I'm willing to spend that much money in order to go for the latest upgrade that will last me my entire time at university (about 4 years). I would be glad to hear your thoughts on the same

Perhaps the extra zoom camera functions, extra ram, dolby recording all could be automatically disabled unless connected to an external battery or wall charger via the MagSafe connector. If one is trying to achieve the highest quality images and video you should be using gimbals anyway. Just need sufficient replaceable external batteries. Even ones that just clip onto the phone itself like that wallet accessory does. Knowing apple they'd price it at $1000 and still only give 128 like the others. It does work well at night, but you’re right... while driving, it isn’t as effective

Should you be using it while driving?

In my opinion iphone se, xr, or mini is right for the budget, 8 is outdated (specs)

@@GReds08 SE2020 and XR are outdated: no 5G, LCD display and (bad batteries). I still want to use my phone correctly in 4 or 5 years. thats not possible with iPhone 8s and XR

@@Raphinho89 im still using my 8 Plus (from 2017) now perfectly. In fact, it's faster than the iPhone X and has great battery life. Plus I have TouchID and 3DTouch, something no new iPhone have had since. The new 12 Mini looks interesting, but no TouchID is a deal breaker. We still don't have full speed and coverage for LTE/4G, 5G is something one should start thinking about in about 2 years, doesn't even change anything from LTE anyway since nothing we do on a phone needs that much speed and no websites services can serve that speed to everyone anyway.

I have the 2nd gen SE and would like the 12 mini. If I stay with the SE, I'll still be more than happy with it. I've owned the 11, 11 pro, and 11 pro Max... form factor (smaller size) is huge for me since I always have my phone on me and am very active. Touch ID is a huge plus in the day and age of zombie COVID apocalypse. Great video.

Coming from an iPhone 7 the mini seems like the natural choice in the line up but then again the new iPhone 12 size shouldn’t be too bad?

FaceID is the deal breaker for me in the nee iPhones 🤨
