I got a job at Walmart later on in the year this was posted, and when I first watched this I always assumed the people quitting their job at Walmart were being overdramatic and were just being cranky. I worked there for about a year and a half, and I have never felt so exhausted, so belittled and so frustrated in my whole life. I'm a little late answering your question, but yes, Walmart is absolutely abysmal to work for.
But why tho, what they put people to do in there? I thought is just similar with an warehouse or a big supermaket🤣
@@Blitzy279 They severely understaff workers, don’t pay people over the smallest details, workers rarely actually do the job they were hired for because the company would assign them jobs the didn’t sign up for, and on top of that they give ridiculous hours that if you don’t work (they don’t pay for those hours btw) then your fired. Walmarts is horrible

I once had a manager call me worthless. She verbally abused me so many times. She told me to “shut up and do my damn job” and I said “shut up and give me a damn piece of paper so you can get my two weeks notice in writing”
I had a manager berate me on her day off because I didn’t get a truck taken care of in less than an hour when I was by myself then she called me useless and I gave her my notice on the back of a dirty receipt 😂

Oh boy this reminds me of the time I quit from Sonic. So the job originally wasn't a bad job and I quite enjoyed it. I was great at serving, a lot of the regular customers really liked me and my nice attitude and way to resolve simple situations. Most my coworkers liked me because I was super nice and great to work with. Not to mention whenever the guy I was dating showed up they let me go in a break to spend time with him all in all it was a great job until we got new management.
So I was hired automatically because of my good personality and everything under the old manager. The new manager hated that, and made sure I knew because as soon as she took over my hours were suddenly gone. I wasn't able to work, she never put me on the schedule, she hated how nice I was, I always came to her and asked nicely for days to work. (Fuck after a week I was begging her to let me work along with everyone else who worked with me) she told everyone I used to work with who asked where I was, that I had already quit even though they knew I had not especially because I would still show up and ask hey can I please work.
I had bills to pay even as a teen so not being able to work and not being able to pay and almost getting kicked out on the streets was not cool at 17.
After two weeks of this crap I began looking for another job and my mother finally decided to take care of my ass because she realized after coming to the store herself to fight for my hours (because she didn't believe me when I told her I was and was threatening to kick me out) and was told by the manager to fuck off and that I was a bitch which then caused an uproar of the coworkers who worked with me which confused the fuck out of my mother as the workplace stood up for me against the manager leading to a few others who lost their job that day. Literally the manager fired them in front of my mother. My mother spoke with them afterwards and they explained everything to her and she was surprised I was telling the truth. She came home that day and told me get the fuck out of that job. You have two months to find a new one.
When I heard everything that happened I went to my closet and grabbed my suit (I always have a nice business outfit on hand for job hunting) and did my makeup.
Showed up with my uniform carelessly hanging over my shoulder. I looked at the new manager who had her hands crossed as I walked in and I threw it at her. Making her pissed and then didn't say a word as I went to the side got myself a large cup and made myself an ice cream slush. She stormed up to me and asked how I was going to pay for that only to be interrupted by the side manager (there were three. They weren't real managers but had the authority of one and helped train the others) who said. It's free for her, my treat. I smiled at her and then turned to the main manager after getting my drink and smiled.
"I quit."
I finally said and she then looked smug as if she won something oh but I forgot to mention I didn't come alone. Be a regular favorite of the customers and a student from the school across the street hehe I brought enough business for them to be stuck in a rush the whole day. I did apologize to my other coworkers for that but they were actually very happy about it because that was the most tips they got in a long while and the manager wasn't able to confiscate them all because it was so much money.
I did get another job at a burger joint right across the street that was more popular and right next to the highschool and also became a key holder there by the time I was 18.
The old manager was pissed to see me there and ruined that store by the way because soon they didn't care what they served from that Sonic and got in trouble with Court because they kept a serving raw fried chicken sandwiches.
(Bonus on how I know that, I was part of the student city council and my days off were just for our meetings that were all mandatory. Hell they were every Thursday so it was no big deal for me.)

I watched this vid when it came out and have been rewatching it along with all his vids. I came across this one today and when Daz asked about Wal-Mart trash to the employees, a thought went about my brain. Little backstory, my dad worked at Wal-Mart when I was 5 and had worked there for 2 years i believe. We were in Appomattox VA at the time.
I'm now 15 and he's working there again but in Nebraska. He always gets put in the frozen and dairy sections but he doesn't mind. He knows all the employees, even the ones working when he isn't. This Wal-Mart is good with there employees and the workers all have a good time working while doing what they need to. The one in Appomattox I'm not sure of because I don't remember too much from when he was working there. I love the vids Daz, they always put a smile on my face, no matter what's going through my mind or what's going on around me. I love watching your vids

I'm late but to answer your question, I have worked for Walmart for three years now and I can honestly say it comes down to the Managers that make or break you. I have some Managers that I would do anything they ask me to do because they're amazing people. They listen to concerns and treat us like actual human beings. I also have some Managers that will stand there watching you struggle and just add more shit to the endless things they want you to do in a shift. Those days are the hardest to work. Some days my eight hours go by so quickly and filled with laughs that I didn't mind being there. Others I feel like a Walmart truck has run me over.

Oh man,I worked at walmart for almost 5 years. Was a great worker and always strived to do well,I never felt appreciated there,when I applied for higher positions they preferred to hire outside people who had no idea what they were doing and I had to train them smh. I wish I did something so grand when I resigned, I thought I wont quit but that place drove me mad. Now I work in a company where I was able to get promoted within a year and half and I actually feel appreciated for my work.
