Love this. I showed my contractor and he did a 'sample' wall to see if I liked it -- I did and we did the entire house in this pattern! So elegant, love it. The painter will be done by Fri of this week. Thank you for a great video!
Would love to see pictures of your walls. This seems to usually just be an accent wall design but I wonder if it wouldn’t be too overwhelming if all wall were done the same
@@AlexA-vl1zx I thought the same thing.
BEAUTIFUL!!! What a great contemporary take on the traditional!
Outstanding...I'm in the middle of wainscotting a wall in my home and this is definitely on the agenda for my next wall. The paint colour is courageous and looks great.
Desperate times 🤣
I love it!
I had drywall finishing. I recently finished my media room in the basement. After I hung the drywall- I filled and sanded the holes and covered the seams with MDF trim in a similar fashion. Looks nice, finished fast and the middle batten also serves to protect the wall from teenagers in chairs.
Thanks Jason! So true!
I love it how we went from regal elaborate millwork to minimalist and then back again to regal. People, Scandi and Boho is okay, but classic is timeless for a reason.
Love the feature wall, so thank you for sharing. For what I would have done differently, maybe I'd have enhanced the depth of the voids by adding a quarter inch mdf board insert in the 6 rectangles with a deeper trim around each. Great look and finish color.
Amazing design and execution! I can’t wait to do this to our dining room and bedrooms!
Just changed my mind completely about what im going to do.
Great job and awesome color choice!
Great Wall and instructions are easy to follow along. Plus awesome color choice!
Looks great, blends really well with the windows.
CLEAN and PRECISE! Amazing work you did, Hi I'm from Philippines. Inspired by your work so I'm gonna make my own with alternative material.
ABSOLOUTLY LOVE THIS&THIS IS THE ONE FOR ME😊BEEN LOOKING AT SO MANY BUT THIS GOT ME SO THANK YOU&LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING MY SITTING ROOM FEATURE WALL DONE👍
There are paintable electrical cover plates available at HD and likely online. Great for those colored walls.
Yes, we did that for another wall and it turned out great!
Wow talk about beautiful. What a statement it has made to the room.
Thanks Harry! We love how it turned out!
Beautiful job! I would love to fill in the center panels with decorative wallpaper. A simple, geometric art deco motif would complement the dark paint color and make it look really luxurious. I also wanted to comment that I appreciate how nicely you take care of that beard of yours. It's hard to keep a bushy beard from becoming unruly and you do a great job of it.
Fantastic job thank you for sharing all the steps!
Fantastic result guys. Brilliant!
So detailed and easy to follow, thank you guys, great work with the wall and the video!
Thank you!!
Love this concept, we did similar, only did a cream paint scheme so that our Walnut entertainment center would be the ture feature. As I said, love the concept!
Just came across this video....man nice job and thanks for explaining everything used. Very nice craftsmanship!
Thank you!
Stunning wall and color...great job!
I thank you for your video sir, as I was searching for a video on how to build a double raised panel. I hope to do the same for my residence in the future.
Thanks!
That wall looks amazing! I think I’m going to have to do it in one of my bedrooms. Both of the trims you used I have used miles of it in my house 😂
This is beautiful. I love your design.
Great job!
That wall is gorgeous!!
The wall looks great, I love the molding and the color. What I would have done differently was to have the "chair rail" height at 30 inches not 36. I think those proportions would have looked better and the upper panel being larger would have made the ceiling seem even higher.
So glad I found your channel! We moved into a new home, trying to figure out a feature wall... I think this might be it! You have a new subscriber, cheers mate!
Awesome! Thanks for subscribing man 👊🏻
Great job, saving for my flexroom addition! Just discovered this channel and will binge this week. 😀
Man this turned out looking awesome!! You guys did a great job!
The house turned out great guys. Congrats on getting in.
Thanks Gary! It’s been a long road and you’ve seen just about the whole thing! Thanks for tagging along
Great work man! Love that the wife is getting involved!
Love what you guys did, it is very lovely and when you started to paint it dark grey, I almost fell off the couch, but now I love it, especially looks good with the black window, which I did not notice before you painted. I guess the black window was the inspiration??
Looks beautiful! I wouldn't change a thing!
Thanks!
Love it . Great job . Now have to figure out who is producing this small wood peaces so that I could use it for our feature wall .
You may want to use a domino or spline of some kind where your 4/4 boards connect. With weather changes even with the joint glued you can still get seam creep as the wood filler will not move with poplar. We do this for a living and most of the time we glue up section then apply them to the wall and this means you have less seams to deal with in the field.
that has a very luxury look. this has to be best feature wall I have seen in a while
Absolutely gorgeous!!
beautiful! may I suggest a consideration for future replications? use an 8" along the bottom as your bottom rail, and ensure 6" is visible above the base molding. everybody starts from the floor for the bottom rail and it makes the bottom rail look wierd because it doesn't match the width of the other rails. using 8" gives you 2" to nail the base molding to, and 6" to match your other stiles. the same goes for crown molding. use 8" for your top rail and leave 6" exposed and use the remaining 2" to nail your crown molding to. This feature you designed and made is gorgeous!
I love the wall. I might have to do something similar in out living room.
Thanks Melinda!
WOW! That is absolutely brilliant and classy on all levels :) Kudos to you and your team.
Love this wall. I really like the color
Thanks!
Thats looks so smick, i love the dark colour!
Looks Great guys... Looking forward to what to come!!
Thanks Jason!!
Brave colour choice, looks great!
Thanks!
We are ready to give this a try in our Foyer. Super excited but also freaked.
looks insanely good, y'all
I love this wall.
Looks great. On a three panel wall, historically, the center panel is slightly wider then the two flanking panels.
This is incredible work thanks for the inspiration, liked commented and subscribed guys, you earned my viewership!!
Looks fantastic.
Bello trabajo! Felicitaciones 👏🏻👏🏻
So Beautiful. I want the wall in my house!!!
Truly beautiful.
This is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I love the wall so much!
so amazing. we r building now and I want to do this!
love the work you guys do, please keep it up
Thanks John!
Awesome job! Thinking about doing the same!
This exactly the design I am making in 1 week. I looked all over the place to find exactly what I had in mind and now I found your channel. I could not explain to my wife what I want to do in the basement and now I can show her your video. So it is called Double raised ok LOL
Awesome! Yeah we totally made that name up, haha, but I thought it sounded good.
@@rogueengineer hahaha ok
It looks really nice! GREAT JOB!!
Thank you!!
Where on earth has your channel been all my life! Love your videos! Already subscribed 👌🏾
Haha thanks! Glad you found us!
Beautiful work
Love this book! czcams.com/users/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!
That is dope! Great work man.
Great job guys. love it
Spectacular work
Beautiful!
Wow that came out sick brotha.. awesome job👍🏻👍🏻
so cool - greatings from Portugal
Wow ,great job guys 👏👏👏
Beautiful, great work!
beautiful, getting some ideas
Beautiful!!! Thanks for showing the process. Curious if you located and shot studs or if you just glued and finish nailed? What kind of nails for drywall if not in stud? Thanks!
oh boy it looks amazing
Thank you!
That looks sick !
Thanks Dan!
wow that came out great!
Thanks Eli
Amazing I will surely try this
Beautiful.
That's just beautiful
You nailed it! Sweet
Love the wall, quick question what type of saw do you recommend to tackle a project like this miter or table? I have neither but am in the process of getting started on building my tool set for projects like this.
Beautiful work! Very inspiring. I
Outstanding! I love it!
Looks great!
This is beautiful work! Is this only for one wall? “Feature”
The feature wall is stunning. Especially in that blue-grey paint. As a seasoned cabinet maker and remodeler, the only thing I would do differently is provide for consistent reveals beneath the crown molding and above the baseboard, matching the mid-wall divider.
The choice of 1"x6" sticks for the horizontal elements vs. 1"x8" material for the verticals is subjective, depending upon your own aesthetic. I personally like it for situations like this where it would appear to be too much under the crown molding and above the baseboard.
Lastly, for paint applications like this, use MDF. It saves you a ton of time, yields a highly accurate result and remains dimensionally stable. Best of all, it's available in 10' lengths. Sketching everything out ahead of time, you could maximize sheet yield, saving money in the process.
All good points, thanks for the comment!
what thickness mdf would you recommend? thx
@@flyingwhiteindian I'd use 1/8" HDF (high density fiberboard) for the panels, and 3/4" MDF for the stiles, rails, baseboards, etc.
The choice of 1/8" HDF/hardboard is for weight and cost considerations.
Hope that helps.
So it looks like the feature wall goes in before baseboards and crown molding? And when you say reveal, you are saying that with the baseboards and crown molding in, now the bottom rail is about half the width of the top rail? And that those should both be the same?
@@dohlemacher These are all choices based on one's personal aesthetic. My preference is to have consistent borders, forming the grid, as well as above the baseboard and below the crown molding.
Awesome stuff! Glad I follow you on Instagram, the house looks amazing!
Thanks!
Spectacular job! Do you happen to know what kind of base cap you used? I’m struggling to find anything decent at my lumber yards.
Looks fantastic. In future would be interesting to find out what paint you use and what you think of spraying vs brush and roll. I use Benjamin Moore Advance for a lot of these types of finishes and find the finish to be unlike any other. Looked like a Behr product in this video...but I guess you're more focused on the carpentry side of things.
Thanks!! And good call, I’m sure there are others that would like more info on that as well.
Beautifully done. My sis just bought a house & I think I'll be doing this for her but on a way smaller scale.
Thanks Tiffany!
It was not bad. But you could still see seams. For a smoother look use joint compound then go over with car Bondo. It won't sink over time
I with you Brady. I could see a seam as you were there talking. Maybe pocket hole those joints to tighten them up and use the joint compound.
Ensure that seams are on studs, as well.
Yep! I wouldn't be happy with this at all.
@Kane King that's why professionals don't use caulk to fill nail holes...It's just common sense
I agree with you and other commenters. However, their work is the same as all of these contractors and workers building these homes in the 500k+ market. Ive been so disappointed by the lack of care, detail and craftsmanship in these homes especially for the money. I've seen the caulk in holes thing too many times. So he would be hired on the spot by these companies, lol. He did good enough.
nice job. classy wall
Amazing job.
Stunning
Great vid I'm about to tackle this job. I was going to bevel the edges of the butt joints for filling. Is their any reason this might be a bad idea?
Gonna try this.
You can video moulding techniques on my walls! HELP! Loved your trims! Thank you for inspiration!
What wonderful work Guys....💪❤️🇨🇦
I feel like some contrasted painting would've been a nice touch to this Could leave that interior molding white, or honestly all of the trim white, leaving the interior spaces black, or vice versa.
Did this 6 months ago on a 2 story stairwell wall. It's surprisingly easy to do.
I bet that is awesome! I would love to see a 2 story example of this.
