Lifelong Everton Fan and Neville Southall is an absolute legend - pleased to see him stick to his views. My brother Wrote to him as a 8 year old kid asking for an autograph and Neville responded with a hand written letter - a long hand written letter - he is an absolute gentleman.

He did the same for me in 88 even as a Blackburn fan, We had Bobby Mimms on loan and I think a friend passed it on for me. I asked him some questions about kit he answered every one with a hand written paragraph on the back of the pic in detail. Great to see all the amazing work he's done over the years and point a few things out to Nigel .

He isn't comparing the difference between how hard people work in different salary categories. He is saying why should people who earn a good wage be taxed more? I know from my families experience that high taxes don't bring anything positive. My dad paid 83% income tax in the 70's and because of that income tax bracket, moved off shore to the Isle of man. An example of working smarter would be someone who grafts on minimum wage, creating their own business which allows them to earn more money and work less hours. High taxation completely destroys growth in every income bracket. Low taxation is the way to go for sure. My question to you would be, what an earth do you think the government would do with the extra tax money considering they don't know what to do with the money they have already taken? The government needs to shrink in size big time, not tax more and take more.

Why would Southall even want to address Farage's _whataboutery_ ? He was talking about the NOW or at least 2010 to now and not a quarter of a century ago. The government can change policy; it can't reverse history. Anyway, inequality narrowed in the years leading up to the economic crash of 2008.

He was one of many great British keepers. Pat Jennings, Ray Clemence, Peter Shilton, Phil Parkes. Big Nev belongs in that list.

Neville’s right, you do have to look after the most vulnerable. But first let’s establish who’s vulnerable and why. Then look after the ones who genuinely are vulnerable.

What a goalkeeper once played west Germany and I think they lost 6 nil but neville made a 20 unbelievable saves, made a save at Liverpool from I think was a john Barnes volley from near point blank range and tipped it over the bar, and the commentator said a world class save from Southall, I can still picture it.
