  • I go over why the 2009 Yamaha FZ6 is an amazing bike. I talk about how comfortable it is for long rides, to how similar it is the Yamaha R6.

    you're right, its an awesome bike. i have a 2007. my mechanic who has rode hundreds of bikes, has raced bikes, and rides a bike every summer thousands of miles to some far off land (last year alaska, this year peru. from california) says its his favorite japanese bike, period. and in his top 5 all time favorite bikes. not that its the fastest, lightest, most precise, etc...but as he has said its a perfect all around motorcycle. you never feel like its too much or too little in anyway. and the comfort? you are right. i can ride it for hours at any speed under any conditions and it just suits every situation and circumstance. i will get another bike, and another. but the FZ6 will always remain with me :)

    great review man! I have the same bike... it's "happiest" revving over 5k rpm. Revs really high at freeway speeds (around 6.5k at 70 mph). Great bike for commuting and weekends rides. You can push it pretty hard, but you'll still easily get passed by all the R6s and R1s. Let em go and enjoy yourself.

    I love mine, red and black, great mid range powerband so in town I can short shift the hell out of it like 3.5k and it's not bogging, certainly quick and fast enough for me. These bikes are great beginner bikes and I learned on mine, they can be bought at a great price just a great bike in every category, maybe not the best but it does just about everything you want very well.

    If you want a full fairing you can order through eBay and install a lower fairing but I don't know if you can still or not but you may can order it through your local yamaha dealer and in my personal opinion it looks waaaaaay better fully faired

    I got hit about six months ago and the whole front end was done so i turned it in to a naked bike cant really find videos of it with the single headlight or much info on how to do it. I did it myself and it looks really nice except i have scratches on it now. And the windshield make a world of a difference. I miss the way it was. However it looks a lil better naked i think.

    So far I like your review but you aren't talking at all about its brakes or if the clutch is light or heavy as most of the reviews are mentioned specifically for the clutch. A little more in depth would made a incredible difference, a review that covers all gaps.

  • @Sg-ci4kp
    @Sg-ci4kp Před 4 lety

    Many reviews say the engine is very weak in its class. But I enjoy the sound, much better than the new 07.

    • @neilhamill318
      @neilhamill318 Před 3 lety

      98hp top speed around 250 kph faster than a much later model the FZ07 would hardly say it has a weak engine.

    • @davidklementis5913
      @davidklementis5913 Před 3 lety

      In it's class for the time, and even now (not that comparing bikes 10 years newer is an even match), the power delivery is different. So off the line the bike may seem weak but once you hit 8 to 10k rpm it turns into a different beast. Since it's a slightly detuned R6 engine, all the power is up high. Most of the other bikes in it's class have all their power in the low to mid range and run out of steam before the FZ6. I love mine and have owned it from new 48k miles, but I will agree that for stop light to stop light city riding many bikes in it's class will feel more peppy. Get out of the city and keep the rpms in the right range and the FZ6 shines. In the city it has plenty of power and can also be a mellow ride. Just my opinion and there are times that I would appreciate a bike with more low end grunt, but don't think I would be as happy with those bikes overall as I am with the Fazer.

    • @BaldKiwi117
      @BaldKiwi117 Před 2 lety

    • @rubendossantos5661
      @rubendossantos5661 Před 6 lety +3

      Brandon Bordeaux my 05 only starts in neutral too. Its a safety so you don't ride off with the kickstand down. (Same reason why if you go into 1st with stand down it will shut off)

    • @cblancin7244
      @cblancin7244 Před 4 lety

      Most windscreens on sportbikes don't completely block the wind, they help with aerodynamics the wind isn't too bad when I'm riding mine, a little better than a completely naked bike.

    • @jonjonsson4270
      @jonjonsson4270 Před 7 lety

      It's not snappy compared to the supersports. It's detuned compared to the R6. Very smooth, and solid feeling

    • @brandonkeithley7464
      @brandonkeithley7464 Před 5 lety +2

      Jon Jonsson as I saw someone else say, I would never call this bike de tuned compared to a r6. It’s got a different tune but not de tuned. It can keep up with an r6 of these years with ease.

  • @EnclaveDesigns
    @EnclaveDesigns Před 4 lety

    You shift way too early, you should be shifting between 9-12k. And it's an inline 4, of course it revs high. Get a parallel or v twin (sv650 is a great choice) if you want low-end torque and lower revs.

Now, my point; just last night I was looking at this same bike that a 74 year man has that he rides to work. Its navy blue and has 13k miles on it. He said he will call me and tell me what he wants for it. What do you think I should pay for the bike? 😐
