- I am a total beginner when it comes to sharpening and restoring knives, so this was a pretty interesting challenge. It is now the sharpest knife I own.

If anyone can read the lettering on the knife, I'd love to know what brand it is!
Hola ✌️😁
I just realized that you still know how to grab the knife
Pretty sure it says "重盛作", I really can't find anything on it besides a lot of auction pages, though
Your movement is a bit of. This will make your bevel uneven. To get the blade really sharp. Try to do three turns only moving the blade forward.
No I do not,
But I do recommend you use some of that sand paper to sand the handle and then throw some linseed oil on it.
Let the wood absorb the oil for about 20 or so minutes and then wipe it off thoroughly.
I don’t know why this channel doesn’t have more subs
Pd: sorry about your computer
Will the next video be "Learning How to Fix a MacBook"?
lol :(
@@stephenrobinson52 But seriously, you should try your hand at fixing electronics. The learning curve for replacing parts isn't particularly steep, though apple parts are kind of expensive so experimenting with replacing the screen might not make for a great first try.
@@matta8508 For that model of macbook it's actually not that difficult. It's the base screws, 6 metal screws where the display attaches to the base and removing the wifi + camera cables. The only problem is the actual replacement displays are really hard to come by cheaply now (used to be going for €150 for a retina display assembly new) and most are 'refurbished'. Just make sure if you do go this route to purchase the entire top part of the macbook and not just the LCD - if you just purchase the LCD you will most likely fail to replace it.
Went from a nice affordable knife restoration to the most expensive knife ever with that laptop drop lol
I agree that you should consider trying to repair it yourself!
If anyone wants to get rust of of something small like this I would recommend electrolysis. Plenty of videos on the subject and it takes litterally no hard work. I've used it many times and it works well.
Nice, thanks for the tip!
you’re killing it stephen!!! love the content
Stroping it on an old Leatherbelt or something similar, even without compound, it will make it even sharper 👍🏼
Nice, I will give that a try.
1:23 He seriously brought a knife to a store
Isn't it usually no weapons allowed? If it isn't a weapon he's probably fine from lawsuits
I challenge you to learn how to read the stars like how to find north and how to find planets and things like that
Cutting the tomato is oddly satisfying..
Good luck getting your Macbook fixed. Same thing happened to me last year and it was rly expensive. Otherwise great video aus always!
Use an hdmi on your laptop to a tv or monitor if you need to pull data from it and see the screen while doing so!
Nice vid! :)
You only have to remove the rust that are not on the bevel and give the bevel a full polish, 500->1000>3000>6000>8000.
Very nice thank-you.
You might find Wrangler star's CZcams videos on such things as this.
As you very well demonstrate, learning through doing is the way!
Honestly you make good content.
Thanks man!
Hi, my name is Stefano Robinson.
We have the same lastname.
Thats cool
I come from the CZcams channel "a little bit of everything": D
From where you guys are getting this old japanese knives i found 1 on eday for 65 dollars and the shipping charge is 124 dollars
The shaved head looks so good! You shouldn’t cover it up with a hat, unless of course you’re cold...I’m also bald and sometimes I do definitely get chilled...
You can still use your laptop, if you plug it into a monitor or TV :)
Also. i got the same whetstone combo, and you're not supposed to fully soak both sides. only one of them (i cant remember which one though)
Yes! I found this out after the fact unfortunately. You're not supposes to fully soak the white side.
That's a good stone got the same one
You should leave the knife in the vinager covered for 24 hrs its way more easy
Lol bring your next knife over to my shop and I'll show you how to do all that in 5 minutes with powertools.
Nice video updt
Officially the most expensive sharpening video
:(
It looks like it was suppose to be a Scandinavian grind. I think you re-profiled it which is why it took so long. BTW once you have a knife sharp just lap it. Unless you do something crazy with it.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm sure you're right.
@@stephenrobinson52 Don't take my word for it. Research it for your own. Look up knife grind profiles. I could be talking out my ass for all I know. I just know with the grind you put onto it just get a leather strap with some jewelers rouge to sharpen it up when it's dull. I just use a cheap lansky system with a couple extra stuff. There's a crazy expensive systems called the wicked edge which can cost up to $900++ which is basically the lansky on steroids. Yet, you are going the more craftsman way. If you can master your angles with those long stones that is a art within itself.
Should of used the edge of glory
Stephen Robinson, can I use your chanel for a schoolwork
