From what I remeber, the Eldar had several gods, but Slaanesh killed most of them. The few that survived are either hiding, held captive for various reasons, or actively trying to find a way to kill Slaanesh. The Eldar have also worked alongside the Imeperium of Man before, but it was short lived and currently not a thing anymore. The Eldar are currently focused on premanetly killing Slaanesh.

The eldar will work with other races if it benefits themselves, but will just as quickly drop any alliance when it suits them, the eldar definitely don't consider other races their equals

Additional Info for the other peeps. the Aeldari Gods we currently know that weren't eaten by Slaanesh are Isha, Khaine, Cegorach, and Ynnead (but technically Ynnead didn't exist yet during the Fall)
Isha's the goddess of Life and Fertility was taken by Slaanesh as a trophy prize, but Nurgle attacked Slaanesh and won, so Isha is currently living in Nurgle's Plague Garden in the Warp.
Next is Khaine, The God of War and Murder, the only god to actually try and fight back against Slaanesh, but since Slaanesh was powered up by eating the other gods and having been recently born, Slaanesh won and Shattered Khaine into shards, which now currently reside within the Craftworlds.
Cegorach, The Laughing God, used his tricks to escape Slaanesh and hid in the Webway, since he wasn't strong enough to actually do anything against Slaanesh, Cegorach now uses what power he currently has to lead his Harlequins.
Lastly (and most importantly) is Ynnead, which surprisingly didn't get discussed by Bricky. Ynnead is the youngest Eldar God, and is currently the greatest hope for the race. Eldrad Ulthran, the Current Greatest Psyker among the Aeldari in the setting, tried create a new God, the Aeldari God of Death to fight Against Slaanesh. and he was almost successful, until so Deathwatch Space Marines came in and screwed the entire ritual, so Ynnead was created, but is now slumbering, not fully awakened. and Among the Aeldari, even the Drukhari and Harlequins, the Cult of Ynnead, The Ynnari, has begun to spread.
Their goal is to spread the good word of Ynnead, and hopefully fully awaken him using the Five ancient Crone Swords but unfortunately that plotline hasn't gone anywhere in a while after it got revealed that the last Cronesword that they've yet to recover is in Slaanesh's Palace in the Warp.

The webway is a very structured and controlled part of the warp created by the Old Ones. It's often used for fast travel but there are places inside there as well like there are in the warp.
Almost all Dark Eldar live in one such place called Commorragh. It's one big city but it's so big that it has multiple suns that have been trapped as Dyson spheres that power it, and it builds out in all directions around those suns.
When Slaanesh was born the Craftworld Eldar got away because they were so far away from the event. The Dark Eldar were shielded but they have like a hole in their soul... casing or whatever that their soul leaks out of slowly. It still leaks when they aren't in Commoragh. Torturing others etc is like pouring more soul into a leaky glass to keep it topped off.
He's wrong about how he characterizes the Harlequin they're just normal Eldar not demons and they're not particularly evil by Warhammer standards (there's not that much about them though). Cegorach is the god of satire and comedy etc and the Harlequin are his priesthood. They escaped because Cegorach is still alive and protects them (also maybe because he's the God of satire and they were actively mocking the Eldar's depravity back when). When a Harlequin dies Cegorach and Slaanesh play a game of chance and whoever wins gets the soul. They treat literally everything as though it were a performance, even in battles they're doing like... a murder stage play or something... they try to make every act mean something in the performance and each type of Harlequin is kind of like one of those standard archetype characters from ancient Greek plays.
Craftworld Eldar have soul stones, when they die if a soul stone is nearby it goes there instead of to Slaanesh. On the Craftworld there's an artificial heaven called an infinity circuit where the dead Eldar stay. They can have their soul stone taken out and put into machines called wraith constructs, so they have ghosts piloting those things basically. If the soul stone breaks, they're boned though.
Dark Eldar when they die if they get even a tiny piece of their body back to Commorragh there are... mad scientist doctors there called Haemonculi that can regrow your body from that piece and put the soul back in provided it hasn't been depleted by Slaanesh yet. They don't have soul stones or infinity circuits though.

No, it was the old webway with new tunnels created by the imperium added in. They talk about Eldar city ruins in imperium occupied webway during Master of Mankind and describe the visible difference between where the imperium’s materials for the webway connect to the psychically resistant materials of the eldar webway.

Cegorach the Eldar laughing God is one of the few surviving Eldar God's.
When Slaanesh was birth into existence he not only killed most of the Eldar race, he also killed and ate the souls of the Eldar God Patheon,
The ones who survived was Coragorach, Isha the Eldar goddess of Harvest, fertility, life, healing and growth.
And Khaela Mensha Khaine or just Khaine, he is the Eldar god of War, Wrath, destruction and murder.
Cegorach was in the webway so slaanesh couldn't get to him
Before Isha could be killed by Slaanesh, she was sorta saved/captured by Nurgle who now keeps her in his realm and uses her as a test subject to test his new viruses and diseases he likes to make and then he sends it out to humanity.
But Isha always manages to heal herself and then she sends psychic whispers to humanity to how to fight off the virus and diseases.
Khaine took the fight to Slaanesh and held his own for quite a while but even he was about to be killed but before Khaine's soul could be eaten it got shattered and one part got saved by Khorne and he now keeps that part of Khaine's soul in his realm, while the other parts found refuge in the infinity circuits the main heart of the Eldar Craftworlds.
Now the Craftworld Eldar can summon him in the form of The Avater of Khaine, when summoning the Avatar of Khaine an Eldar will willingly sacrifice their own body so the spirit of Khaine can possess it. But like I said it's a sacrifice the Eldar won't survive and the Spirit of Khaine uses the physical body untill the Avatar is defeated.

The easiest parallels for travel in the webway and the warp is the nether from Minecraft. The warp is a hellish landscap that requires a ship to traverse, with force fields protecting the crew and passengers. The webway doesn't have monsters, uses a portal doorway where people can simply walk in on openingand out another, akin to Stargate, and some Eldar, namely the Dark Eldar, have a whole city in the webway, that doesn't follow the normal rules of physics.

  • @ibysdagon4659
    @ibysdagon4659 Před rokem +1

So the main thing the Eldar lost was in 40k, your soul lingers for a bit after death. Eldar found a way to take that soul and put it into a new body. With Slaanesh around, they just get eaten by She Who Thirst. On top of that, without something to stop her, Slaanesh will eventually drain the life out of an Eldar. Craft world Eldar do it by meditation and wearing a soul stone so when they die their souls go to the stone instead of the warp and the dark does the torture thing.
