I used to have that tail on 4 different porsches.I have a 2001 1.8t beetle running 235 hp and 285 torq at 25 psi .I have 3 inch exhaust but kept the stock resonator in for sound filtering. Do you have a resonator with this car now? P.S I am glad I have 3 inch exhaust.I studied flow charactaristics to determine I needed 550 cfm at 24 psi. A 2.5 inch system would not get me there.the volume needed .Your car sounds good . Is your car lowered ?
I forgot what brand thea downpipe was it was two and a half all the way and a universal carbon fiber muffler on the back custom sarona Porsche style Wing Buddy Club front bumper.3 1/2 drop.. stage 2 tune 18psi. System!
LITTLE ADVICE , IF YOUR GOING FOR HIGHER FLOW EXHAUST WHY ONLY INCREASE THE DIAMETER FROM 2.25 TO 2.5 INCHES ? THESE THINGS WANNA BREATHE . gO FOR THE 3 INCH EXHAUST ,IT WILL FIT AND DONT GET THE STUPID STANDARD WHAT LOOKS LIKE AN STI CAN MUFFLER .....GO FOR A QUALITY MUFFLER.......
xXCoughkidXx it was a universal carbon fiber Muffler I picked up on eBay and I had the exhaust custom bent from the downpipe back. two and a half inch downpipe was purchased also.. don't remember where I got that I haven't had the car in quite some time

I think I would consider a whale tail only if I had about a 2 inch fender flare so the tail does not overwhelm the overall shape of the car.
The wing compliments the car perfectly even without fender flares
