    Try adjusting the small bolts in the upper most parts of the trunk hinges...closest to the roof. The bolts are facing front to back of the car in direction...and is one on each side.
    Apparently that can fix the issue of the trunk not opening properly when you click the button etc.

      @@HelicoolsHelipad You're welcome. By the way...I think the bolts I'm talking about are what the small rubber stops (that are frequently missing) on the the hinges sit against when the trunk is closed.

    Had an awesome 2000 bright yellow turbo and it was a pure dream to drive. The spolier would activate at speeds > 90 MPH. Used to scream across the Mojave desert back in the day. Almost like flying. One downside was the mass airflow sensor would fail all the time.

      so no one sees your spoiler 😂..., you can't drive that fast over there...
      Here in Germany yes...
      All pros and cons...
      For example, you can't just buy weapons here... and certainly not fully automatic ones... no AR or AK
      But that's a good thing... otherwise there would be civil war here in Germany...

      Some of these are programmed to pop up at a rediculous speed. I think it is around 110 miles per hour. You will need to reprogram it. I think I saw a video on how to do that, so search CZcams to see if you can find that video. I do not know how that is done.

      This little guy, whom I am calling "Scrat" for now, has been neglected. With many cars that come from clueless owners that only know they should add gas from time to time, and barely understand the concept of oil changes, preventative maintenance is a foreign language. Once there became too many caution and warning lights on the dash, it was time to dump it. With just a little bit of effort and the cost of a couple of months payment for a new car, these cars can live on for years to come.

    Spoiler has a suspension when opening automatically or normally, what could be the problem (it opens and closes with difficulty and requires several presses on the button)

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  Před 2 lety

      Do you think the problem is the signal to the motor, the motor, or the actuator? I’m not sure what to do with it. It seems to function properly at the proper speeds… my thought is that it is a problem with the actuator. But that is just a guess.

    Your car is definitely not common. I don't know what the production numbers are however. So, my rear spoiler on my 02 GLX Turbo Beetle is stuck in the up position. The button under the dash will retract it but the spoiler pops right back to the "up" position. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  Před rokem

      Do you have an amber warning light on the dash that looks like the side of the car with the hatchback partially open? It sounds like you have a sensor that is bad, causing it to come up. It is only supposed to do that above 40 mph. Take it to AutoZone or O'Reilly's and get a free diagnostic... perhaps it will tell what sensor is bad.

    • @HelicoolsHelipad
      @HelicoolsHelipad  Před 2 lety

      Some people have told me it is a “security feature” so that you have to have the key fob to get into the hatchback. I disagree. I’m thinking it might be as simple as changing out the hydraulic lifting rod/pistons, or adjusting the spring/latch mechanism so that it pushes the hatch up and it stays up when the hatch lock resets.

    • @iansellers1251
      @iansellers1251 Před 2 lety

      @@HelicoolsHelipad I think I figured it out ,it's as simple as the passenger door has to be unlocked for it to work .
      Mine is one press of remote to unlock driver's door , 2 clicks to open passenger as well . If passenger door locked the boot doesn't release fully , had 100 success rate since being aware of this

    • @starhope9630
      @starhope9630 Před rokem

      On the parts of the hinges that are at the highest point and closest to the roof...there is two small bolt heads (one each side). If you stand at the rear center of the car facing forward - and with the boot/trunk opened...you should be looking at the top of the heads of them (not the sides of them). I was once told that if you carefully play with adjusting them...it can fix the issue you are having. Hopefully that helps? 🙂

    Hi Dear Brother Dave. pastor Ed here in baking hot Ireland. Miracles do happen Bro. It's about 90°F and just a mere
    30°C+. Totally unheard of in Ireland Dave.
    Anyways, I was watching you fill your gorgeous Beetle up with "gas", as you call it. US aliens over here 😃😃😃 call it petrol.
    I'm used to calling it gas having lived on the gorgeous Harsens Island in Michigan for several years. My wife, a Comedian, oops, a Canadian...lol also calls it gas. I noticed your cost was, for arguments sake, $50:00.
    I'll break it to you gently how much it cost me to fill >>BOTH

      AMEN and Alleluia! The fuel prices around here have shot up in the last 9 months (I wonder why) so I am in sticker shock. That, and I never buy premium fuel... but for this little guy with the turbo, I might just have to.
      The evil intensions of the puppet masters is to divide and conquer. They divide by pitting people against others, teaching them to hate and exchanging the word and meaning behind equal to "equity." Equity is the opposite of equal, which begets anger, mistrust, and division. I am strengthened with the knowledge that my God is bigger, and He has already won. We know what the outcome will be. Justice will be reclaimed, and the meek shall inherit the Earth.
      This Beetle Mania project has been fun and frustrating at the same time. But through all things, he strengthens me. What is most important is saving souls with the free gift of salvation. I pray someone will see my videos and begin to wonder why I have joy in my life. It's a new beginning...
