    I'm glad you're liking your Gen5 Glock 20. Congratulations!
A little over a year ago, I replaced my unreliable Gen3 Glock 20SF with a new S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" (that naming convention really needs an upgrade). My new M&P 10mm is clearly superior to my old G20SF in all ways except for the speed and ease with which the Glock can be fully detail stripped and reassembled, and I personally prefer the G20SF grip angle (but only for the full power 10mm Auto cartridge).
Otherwise, my S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol is less expensive, has much better ergonomics, is more accurate (for me), is much more reliable than my Gen3 G20SF, has high quality real steel sights, a better trigger (once broken in - after 300 rounds or so), a fully supported chamber (safer, and saves brass for reloading), standard rifling (shouldn't fire lead bullets through my polygonal rifled G3 G20SF barrel), and is made here in America by American labor and an iconic American gun manufacturer.
Happy shooting, and good things! 👍

My hubby takes my boys and nieces who are similar in ages 18 - 25 occasionally to gun range- They love it.. getting to get educated and in controlled environment shooting is great and fun. Thanks Tim- u guys did great! Joshua did so well! Just amazing how much he has grown up from the first video I saw him in way back and now seeing him so grown - awww! Good seeing u guys..❤

    • @DadsGarageDIY
      @DadsGarageDIY  Před rokem +1

Yeah, he has grown a lot. When we started the channel he was 10 and maybe 4' 8". Now he's 13, 5' 6" and (cleaning my throat) 190 pounds.
Shooting is fun. It is stress relieving. We are trying to focus more on slowing down and not just going to to put holes in paper. That's why we bought the target pistol. Not to mention at 7 cents a round it's the more economical way to shoot.
      Always good hearing from you!

Love seeing you involving your boy and his good gun safety! He is quite comfortable shooting. I've had Glock before and they are reliable for sure. Built like tanks. And yes, that one is big and looks like a 1911.
I've never gone after a 10mm, but have wanted one. The cost of ammo in my area has always been restrictive. You've got me thinking again.... Great review!

Thanks buddy. Joshua is very good. He is spot on on the safety aspect and he’s a heck of a shooter.

Nice vid!! Was your opening comments about me perhaps…?? Haha. Anyways, the Glock is a solid weapon platform and as about as reliable as you can get in my opinion.

Yes, sir. I was referencing you. LOL
I agree. In a world where it seems like it's hit and miss to get a reliable gun out of the box I have not ever had 1 issue with a Glock.

@@DadsGarageDIY many years ago I had a front sight come off the slide. I went to Glock in Smyrna Ga to have it replaced. While there I had the opportunity to meet Gaston Glock the founder of the company. It was a neat experience.

I’m not what you would call a Glock guy. I never owned a Glock until about a year ago. Now I’ve had 3 and each has been flawless! I could not be more happy with Glock. I appreciate the comments. I hope you will subscribe. I look forward to future comments. Thanks!

Of all the handguns I've ever fired, and there have been many, only three ever failed to operate at 100% reliability for me:
      1. A Beretta 92FS 9mm Luger rental that was brand new. It suffered 5 FTF malfunctions out of 50 rounds fired.
      2. A Gen3 Glock 20SF 10mm Auto which I owned. It suffered many many FTF and FTE malfunctions when shooting full power 10mm Auto ammo from Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, and Underwood Ammo. Plus I'd constantly get the notorious Glock smiley-face bulged cases due to the unsupported chamber, and a good amount of split cases, too, due to these high pressure rounds being fired through that stock Glock barrel with its loose tolerances. Quite simply, it was an unreliable, potentially unsafe gun with full power 10mm Auto loads. Fortunately for me, it never went kaboom in my hands.
      3. A S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" which I currently own (it replaced my Gen3 Glock 20SF). In its stock configuration, it had 1 FTF malfunction out of 220 rounds of 10mm Auto ammo fired. After upgrading its stock RSA and magazine springs, it's been 100% totally reliable through the last 1,600 rounds fired. Overall only 1 malfunction of any kind, after 1,820 rounds, all of which have been 10mm Auto. 620 rounds have been Underwood self-defense JHP and / or 200 Gr and 220 Gr heavy flat nose cast bullets (FN HCL).
      Good things! 👍

@@jpg_sig10 Historically the guns I have owned have been flawless. That is up until the last 2-3 years. During that time span about half of the guns I have bought have had issues. It's been very disappointing. Actually, 5 of the last 9 have had issues right out of the box. Of the 4 I have not had issues with 2 were Glocks and 2 were Brownings. I unfortunately have become all too familiar with my gunsmith. He told me that the past 2 years the quality control has been terrible with many brands. He is working very long days 7 days a week to keep up with demand. A lot of the work is due to brand new guns right out of the box. Good hearing from you again, sir.

It’s not the most reliable 10mm. After cleaning it and using different types of ammo my Glock 20 gen 5 jammed many times. Sold it after a couple of months.
