What's your favorite 90's Era Ferrari?
F355 Berlinetta in Rosso Corsa!
This one
348T. Just like the look.
Gorgeous Ferrari
1999 Ferrari 360 in black with manual gearbox
With a proper exhaust like a Tubi these are one of the best sounding cars ever made! Period
Correct! 💯💯💯
Until you hear the caoristo😏
Agreed. It’s a beautiful sound
That being said, in person that stock exhaust does have a really special scream up high that all of the aftermarket systems seem to lose. I love a tubi 355 but I still love a stock one!
Tubi for 355´s and Capristo for 360´s, thats what good engine notes sounds like.
Such a great Ferrari. There was a local guy to me growing up that had one with the F1 gearbox and he refused to take it to a dealer to service so he built a lift in his garage and does all the maintenance himself. One brave man!
RESPECT TO THAT MAN MAKES ME WANNA CONTINUE DOING MORE WITH MY CAR BY MYSELF
It's just a car lol. If you can change a head gasket / timing belt on a dohc v6 or v8 you can do anything on these
@@jodyjohnsteinsequential gearboxes are not very easy to work on
@@isthisagoodname6279 they are easier to work on than autos and h patterns. What are you talking about lol
Even the geese came to check out this stunning Ferrari F355 @6:53. What a fantastic dream car.
A belt service is around 7500 bucks or so and needs to be done every 7 to 10 years... This is how rumors get started. These are around 1000/year to run. They are very reliable when driven. Like anything if not used they can need attention but if driven properly the F355 is as reliable as any car ive owned. Nothing comes close to the F355 Spider experience with a gated manual. These cars are very underrated because of people havent owned them putting out nonsense. Once the cats out of the bag, these will be double what they are today.
But while youre in there….
The highest quote I received for mine from a local Ferrari master tech was 9900 but that included changing all the additional necessary components like cam seals, crank seal, various hoses, tensioners/pulleys, cam bolts, rebuilt water pump and seals, bleeding f1 system, fuel filter, spark plugs, valve cover seals, plug cover seals, brake fluid service, power steering service, etc. The parts themselves are not even that expensive. A 30k service kit from Ricambi is $1750. Finding a place that will perform the labor at an reasonable price is the responsibility of the owner. Plenty of Ferrari shops out there like this that specialize in the older stuff.
@@TedwardDrives ...add a $12,000 exhaust system?
@@TedwardDrivesThat's what she said...
yea just casually talking about spending 25k on an engine service is just flat out wrong. Why would you just say something that is purposefully false. Video was awesome until that point.
Life can only come to an end if you've owned a manual ferrari
I'm afraid that makes me immortal. Well, you never know..

Tedward out here making our day better with V8 Ferrari noises🙏🏻🙏🏻
he really do be
The F355 is one of my favorite Ferraris as well, along with the 550/575 Maranello. When I was in high school in the late 90s, there was the F355 Challenge arcade game that was a blast because of its gated shifter.
YES.
F355 challenge , I had it for the Sega Dreamcast
The intake sound is absolutely sublime. I’d love to daily drive something that sounds as good.
my dad had one last summer. it was red with a beige leather interious and was also manual :) i really miss it
Bro that paintjob is MAD!
I just searched for a pov drive of a manual f355 yesterday after watching doug demuro's, "ferrari should bring back manual" video. And today you already you uploaded your own.
Excellent vidéo for the sound and the pov. Thanks !
The F355 is my hero car. When I finally had the chance to drive it, I was BLOWN AWAY. Granted, it was really nice outside... and I didn't need to use the AC. And my wife thought the ride was too harsh. Still love the car to this day...
You are absolutely right about the use of a gated shifters as a bandaid to sloppy shifter feel. but the other reason they use them was back in the day because the gearboxes couldn’t get into gear as fast and so they used gated shifters to slow you down between shifts so you wouldn’t brake things.
The Binaural sound is very close to how it actually sounds when you are driving it. Great work. I am looking forward to being reacquainted with mine in 10 days time. A fantastic car and yes, to my eyes, the most beautiful V8 Ferrari of all time.
Hey i love your POV Binaural Audio videos. im on a binge watching them, keep up the hard work.
Thank you!
Love it! One of my favorites from the 90s. My all time favorite one from the 90s was the F40. I was in Boston on Sunday and saw lots of exotics and classic muscle. Really nice day for it!
I often watch your videos before going to sleep, well last night I fell asleep peacefully listening to that beautiful V8 sound, gotta love it !
Its always thanks to 'BOND group'....🎉🎉
Great episode!
I have been waiting for this exact Tedward test drive for so long!
Lovely example, great sound, and informative review.
My favorite ferrari along with the 348 and F40.
The gears sound quite short! Beautiful engine note.
Your videos are amazing. I truly can't think of anything I'd change.
I was behind a F355 Spider on my motorcycle once and getting onto the expressway never sounded so good!
What a beautiful example! Love this car so much, thanks Ted! Must be a mod for the relay making that beeeeeeeep? My old 84 GTI was annoying too but I picked up a modified relay some guy made to give it a nice chime jingle.
Such a timelessly beautiful car! So beautiful.
And wow that color is sublime! And that front end is absolute perfection!
This video was suggested to me and I clicked on it because of the 90s looking air vents and chunky steering wheel and I was not disappointed😎
New subscriber 🎯
The rev vibrato when you shift is my favorite thing aboug this car 😍😍
Great ride, pretty cool gig you've got Ted
This is my ultimate dream car.
It’s not about the money, speed or luxury, it’s about the drive
Just beautiful.
Nice driving, and I agree with other commenters about it needing a Turbo exhaust to be able to really enjoy it!
Great stuff as ever. Beautiful car in a beautiful colour 👍
Better than in red, and one color only into, excellent.
What a beautiful car. Piece of art!
Music to my ears. Nice vid
More than you can afford pal
That was almost the title
I have nothing but great respect to this guy
Not sure what's funnier: A door chime that sounds like you are flatlining 4:43 or the honk battle between the 355 and Geese 6:52
These will appreciate a lot over the next decade.
Oh man what a color and what a sound. Definitely my fav modern Ferrari body type, although it's a tough call 😅. Awesome stuff
nah bro the ducks was the highlight of the vid😂
Behind the seats, you have two windows that give access to the engine, they can be used to change the water pump and secondary belts, to remove the engine there are 8 screws, and everything comes out, I guarantee that this maintenance is faster than many with access direct
That blue is just gorgeous
An amazing machine to look at, and an even better one to hear.
That said I call this the Ferrari boat. Not because of how it drives, but because you love to enjoy a buddies.
If I could put a couple of 90's Ferraris in my garage it'd be this and a manual 456. Just lovely.
Gotta love a great sounding, spontaneously combustible classic Ferrari!
Owned a 95 spider in Rosso Barchetta for a while. Still my favorite color on any car I've ever seen! 95 is a bit better as they are still OBD1 cars thus a bit less to go wrong, but my gosh I had to do the valve guides and exhaust manifolds, which is a $20k(!!!!)+ job, probably more now. Just insane. The 360 is a far better car maintenance wise but the 355 pulls at ones heart strings.
I always remember this car from Goldeneye. My favorite 90s Ferrari
Its the same spec as the one in f & f 1. Sounds beautifull and looks amazing.
I want the F355 GTS so bad. The Goldeneye car chase scene with the F355 GTS and the Aston Martin DB5 is one of the greatest driving scenes of all time.
The fact that F355s anniversary was yesterday. Happy 30 years!.
That Car is CLEEEAAAANN! Beautifully specced. I reiterate, it's Game Simulator Clean!
Who remembers the arcade game F355 Challenge with the 6 speed gated shifter from their youth? The game that got me hooked on Manual transmissions before I was old enough to drive!
I've been in love with this car ever since Goldeneye, as if it needed any more reason to be lusted after.
Great video. Good camera angle and great audio. The only mistake, which is not your fault. Major belt service is only about 4k. So many people online say it's 20k and that's not true. A lot of people just do the belts when they sell the car, even though other things need to be done. Then someone gets the car and finds out the hoses are original from the 90's and never changed. Original plug wires etc. Next thing you know they have a 10k bill.
“While we’re in there” is the expensive part. Once the engine is out you might as well
plz drive more ferraris! awesome vid as usual
Absolutely stunning!!
Sounds a lot like an older 328 tbh which is a good thing to my ears. Beautiful lines and civilized interior design. Of course it has a supple suspension - it’s a convertible for CRUISING 🌴🌊
Driving the 328 next week!
Wow the downshifts are very F40 sounding 😍
The reason why these cars are softer suspension-wise is because the chassis is not particularly rigid, as you can see from all the cowl shake at 8:52. A stiff suspension would cause all kinds of handling problems, as the mounting points would flex far more than they should, and in unpredictable ways. This really didn't get fixed until the F430 Spider, with both the coupe and convertible versions being of broadly similar chassis rigidity.
Gear ratios are perfect!
For me, this is the Ferrari. The sound is spot on, the styling is perfect, it is simple yet complicated and with character. It is, the Ferrari.
355 Convertible is my "you can only buy one Ferrari" Ferrari. Thanks for this video
Nice. I seen several of these in person and oh boy. They're certainly are beauties 😎Also not to mention the sound 👌
I remember seeing a red 355 coupe manual in Modena... loved it
I agree, these geese are awesome!
As a Ferrari enthusiast i say> the most beautiful Ferrari ever created, period.
I live the ´´click click click´´ sound of the shift changes
Hahahaha the geese and honk - good stuff
Have you drove an Toyota MR2 turbo? Very beautiful (especially with the right body kit ), sounds great and drives great. Best part about them to me compared to a Ferrari? Doesn't break and parts are cheap.
So gated manuals started because with old race cars like in the 1910s or so, the transmissions didn't have internal gates so you could move the shifter wherever because it wouldn't stop you. So they installed the gate to remove that very possible damage from going in 2 years at once. But in newer cars with gated shifters, it's really just for the look and the sound of it and like you said knowing for certain what gear your in.
Don't quote me on this, but the story goes something like that
seeing what gear you are in is kind of pointless in my opinion, you should know what gear you are in simply by combination of sounds/feel when you throttle after shifting regardless. Dont matter if you are in a sports car or a regular everyday beater car you will always know what gear you are in when you get familiar with your vehicle. You never should need to look at your gears when driving anyways..
@@Rosterized Once you have experience driving a specific car yes, and you definitely know what gear your in once you've successfully shifted and your back on throttle, but sometimes that's too late to know what gear your in. Ask anyone who's money shifted
One of my favorite cars of Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit such a beauty...
Really love the 355!
Love the 355, always have and always will. My fav Ferrari.
every time bond group with the bangers
I used to have a JDM spec 5-speed manual Honda Accord, and this is basically what it sounded like.
MCS makes a nice suspension upgrade for the F355
That is a pretty sick Prancing Horse!!!
This car is just achingly beautiful. Good god above! 😍
I had the plsaure of sitting in one, and the amount of space between doors and seat is astonishing, I mean you actually have to make a very wide step to get into this car
WHAT A SOUND.
Fast enough to be fun but that sound is glorious. Best sounding car on the road period.
THIS! looks like fun!
I was riding home with my brother from church in his 93 civic w/ type r swap back in 2000 and a 355 pulled up next to us on the highway. I will never forget the sound that came from the 355. It was the first time i heard a supercar and it gave me a new appreciation for them that i didnt have before. I know this is blasphemy but this v8 in the 355 sounds like if honda made a vtec V8. Am i wrong?
Good to see Tedward back in a Ferrari!
My uncle has a 355 and he let me drive it once. One thing that I remember not liking was the light steering feel.
These shot up in value overnight.
I didn't know what to expect so when u first revved to redline i was awstruck, that thing is ANGRY.
Im no ferrari fan im all for Mclaren but im gonna be straight. It has the best sounding V8 ever!
Gated shifter goodness
dreamcar and dream sound
I love that 1995 - 2004ish era of ferrari
man this car is so gORGEOUs everywhere, outside, inside i love the 90ties and i want so badly this car
355, the best regular V8 powered Ferrari ever.
Great video! New sub. PS: it's pronounced VALvole, not valVOle
😂😂 i will be playing with the headlights too.
Peak Ferrari for me, just beautiful! I love is blue.
Nothing beats the charm of 90s Ferraris
SWEEEEEET Ferrari
