The markups killed this car for me. I was really looking forward to this being the first _new_ car that I buy.
Same. The mark ups destroyed my dream too
I have not even seen one in inventory at my local dealer. I've seen none on the road. It might as well not even exist.
Can't you just order one? or is it different in the states? I recently bought a Lexus IS500 and any car that the dealers near me had was marked up, but because I ordered mine they couldn't mark it up at all.
Markups killed all enthusiast/fun cars. They're marketed at younger crowd at prices they can afford but that is useless because USA has franchise laws that prohibit direct sales. Car has to go to a third-party parasite that gets to hold it hostage until you pay a ransom called ADM before they'll release the car to you that they had NOTHING to do with when it came to R&D. US is a third world country in so many aspects and US citizens are so oblivious to it. From car industry to healthcare costs, to roads, to rail cars, etc.
@@YasssStitch I’m far from a US cheerleader, but geeze get a grip. I travel all over the world for my job, I lived abroad in Asia for several years, and I have family that live in Western Europe. The US is by any measure a land of many opportunities, and anyone that calls it a “third world country” is extremely naive and ignorant.
I've owned 4 Z-cars, and really wanted to buy one of these. Unfortunately the supply is severely limited (intentionally), and the few in stock have stupid big mark-ups on them. Nissan is losing a lot of sales by limiting the production so much, and dealers are killing us with the price mark-ups. It's really depressing.
Bro seriously. I'm a Ford guy and there are so many vehicles I've called for and the markup has been ASTRO-FKN-NOMICAL. Like no man...I'm just gonna not.
Hopefully now that the chip shortage becomes a thing of the past they can start churning out cars again. The car makers want to sell as many as possible, it's the dealers who take advantage of the lack of supply.
I was really excited about this car, but I was priced out of it so hard. I used to have a 370Z and loved it. The price actually had me looking at Camaros, and I lucked into a 2022 Camaro 1SS with a hodge podge of options for right at 40k. I wouldn't be able to touch a Z for that, and the Z doesn't have 455/455 HP/TQ... I wasn't prepared for 30MPG on the highway when I got the Camaro, either.
Just wait a few years, the people who are willing to pay the markups will have already gotten one and youll be able to find them for around msrp. Its already starting to happen with the 2024s
The Z has been a grand touring car since the late 1970's, which is what I want. I have many great memories of road trips in a 300ZX with great ergonomics and a huge tank of gas. :-)
And with a few hundred bucks worth of suspension upgrades it can be made into a very capable sports car. I remember my first SPL Parts upgrades and how it changed the car dramatically! I like the comfortable touring ride for road trips and commuting with the OEM adjustable dampers, but having another Z that had the upgrades for track duty is very nice also. When the markups go away for these, or they start popping up second hand, I'm going to do the same since like the Z32 the looks of the RZ34 are just timeless!
its weird, this car looks like it feels both older and newer at the same time on the interior. i love it
currently an apprentice as nissan, I feel this every day lol, aren't those heated seat rockers so outdated? they've been using them fovever. same with other parts inside
@@liamkeiler9927 honestly I don't get why you guys care. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Idk why we need completely new stuff every 2 years in a car. Maybe it's just because I'm into older cars too so I don't really give a damn about this stuff
@@gotworc I get what you're saying because I myself like the craftsmanship/design of older cars compared to now but the Z between 370z and this new one is a lot of years in between so I'd rather see newer switchgear
I've dailied my 2006 S2000 for the last going-on 7 years. Everyone wants a car that drives like an S2000, but most of that comes from the car feeling so analog. An S2000 drives like a car built in 2006 because it isn't disconnected with sound deadening (though it has a HORRIBLE electronic steering rack). The new Z clearly drives like it was built in 2006, and it clearly has A TON of sound deadening in the trunk you can remove. You get the vintage, analog driving dynamics with the reliability of a modern car (don't have to replace 20-year-old bushings, wheel bearings, engine mounts, abused clutch, valve adjustment, TCT, water pump, alternator, etc.). Honestly, despite the CTR/ITS, N cars, GR86 twins, and the like being great PERFORMANCE cars, this car excites me the most because it's basically a 2003 Z with turbochargers and a better aesthetic. The engine has been proven to be reliable, so it's a win-win. Really excited to try this out.
Reliability of modern cars?
Newer Nissan cars are nowhere near as reliable as the Nissans of old.
Analog feel is why I went with an STi. The hydraulic quick-ratio steering rack in it is phenomenal, and the bolt-action feel of the rod-linkage shifter is fantastic.
Man, i just love your vids ted because they bring a whole diferent perspective on thinga
Really impressed with that auto rev match. If u look at the rpm gauge it adjust instantly and yes that pull is definitely dope.
I love that fact that it still sounds like a Z. i had a 350vqhr and loved it, will hopefully get one again
I would watch the hell out of a Tedward drives construction equipment series.
id push so much dirt! dig holes...fill them in...dig them again!
good man! been waiting for you to review one of these.
The manual is what the gtr is missing. The new v12 koenisegg has a manual transmission which can switch to auto. Such a masterpiece gearbox.
there is no GTR🤔
It sucks that luxury car makers like Porsche don't share their transmissions for example 7 speed manual that would change everything
Been waiting for this one🔥
Owned a 280zx in 1983. Loved that car! So fun to drive. Can’t imagine a newer model.
Having owned three 350z’s over the years, first one back in its release year of 2003 I think this review sums up the Z its a 7/10ths outcome., that is definitely not bad. Like the look of the new Z - cool review thanks - cheers from Brisbane
id say this car is more of a heritage and throwback to the 240 z
so many body characteristics it takes on that theyve like modernized i guess you could say. i actually used to drive for nissan out here in az. it was such a fun job getting to drive the test models they built in japan and sent to us for testing. best experience of my life and i fell in love with these cars. definitely going to get me one soon. cheers!
Im confused, could of sworn it was supposed to be the new 240z?
I love Tedwards Videos 😃
I've been waiting for this - great review! Still hanging onto my 03 G35 6mt, so I was very excited when this launched. I don't like that the LSD is locked behind the $10k performance package though
Yeah 40k for a dinosaur of a car with an open diff is insane. Be one thing if it was like 200hp….but a 400hp turbo engine…
50k for the sport trim is outrageous for what you get. All the competitors are far superior…
I really like the styling, but that’s about it. Too expensive for what you’re getting.
@@NDEEZMiata I don't even mind that it's a dinosaur in many ways, since I love the 03. It would make for a great grand tourer. But to add to your point, you can get a brand new BRZ for 30k that comes standard with an LSD, and that's a sharper more focused sports car. I'm a big fan of the Z, but not for 50k. Currently BRZ is topping my list because it's such a great bargain imo.
@@Fordguy1997 that’s the thing, if you want a sharper car there’s better and cheaper options. If you want a GT car, same deal. Doesn’t make sense when you could buy a 350 or 370 and largely have the same experience for way less money.
If you can deal with the size, the ND2 Miata is fantastic. I had a first gen BRZ, won’t touch another Subaru again personally.
The Miata is basically perfect, axleback exhaust is all it needs. It’s a really small car though, so doesn’t work for everyone. My favorite car I’ve owned though. Fun at all speeds. Had a 19 SS 1LE, amazing car but too fast for my lead foot. Had to absolutely be hammering it for it to really come alive.
@@NDEEZMiata I would love a Miata, I've always held that in high regard. But like you mentioned, it's really small and I like the idea of having rear seats (that fold down) in the BRZ. The Miata would really need to be a second car for me. But we'll see, I'll have to go drive them and see what happens.
buy one aftermarket lmao save urself a bunch of money
11:25 I still remember the loader that you say you want to drive it in the wrangler two door episode 😂😂
You are a very good CZcamsr. ❤
Great one Tedward! What a coincidence too, I just saw a blue one of these yesterday haha
Dude I love that you’re at road America!! I live about an hour away
Thanks for the review.....I might purchase one of these in 15 years.
11:27 “I wanna drive that” 😂😂😂😂
Markups killed all enthusiast/fun cars, including the new Z. Read Patrick Wyman's writings on the American gentry and you'll understand why rent-seeking behavior by local dealerships towards consumers is tolerated. Dealerships dominate local chambers of commerce who, in turn, help bankroll elected officials into local, state and federal positions and then engage in regulatory capture making dealerships immune to notorious anti-consumer extortion like ADM for enthusiast cars.
Buy one in Canada and drive it across
But russsia is a real peace of sh .-it.
Finally saw one in person the other day. I was hoping it would look better than video, but it was exactly what I expected. I think the twins look better and they're more like an OG Z (I have a GR86 and had a 240 and 260Z). This is more like an '80s ZX, which is not my thing, but I'm sure is better for long distance cruising. Too bad about the dealers, too. You CAN find the twins at MSRP if you're lucky or patient (I was the former), but one is highly unlikely to find the new Z without ADM seeing as Nissan dealers are the height of sleaze. It's a cool car and I'm always glad to see anything that isn't yet another damn C/SUV, but the price before ADM is borderline at best seeing as the LSD is a high extra cost (standard on the twins with a lot less power) and forget about it with the ADM.
If it weren't for this video and the fact I'm subbed to your channel, I wouldn't have remembered this car exists let alone came out
420k subscribers, nice 😎
My first car was a 1990 300 zx with the t-tops. I wish I still had it today. It was fun to drive. This version looks good, I would have it in red.
You’re giving me the very tiny tiny hint that it drives similarly to the previous car?😂 Great video! I watch your videos instead of Netflix their that entertaining. They’re so high quality aswell, it gives like such a realistic representation of how it would drive from a video
@@Guido.Fawkes.1 I typed it quickly, ngl I wasn’t expecting people to comment on my spelling lol
I have the performance Z and just put the NISMO cat back exhaust on by NISSAN. It is a big improvement and sounds like it should. Its not to loud but comes to life under load but quiet cruising, about the same as the road noise. Throttle response is much better. It definitely adds HP that traction control covers up and makes it unnoticeable until you disable it. It also helps a lot for me to control the power by the sound vs just using the feel or depending on Traction Control. This is not my first Z I started back in 1980 with the 280 and had one of every version since. The 300 zx twin turbo was always my favorite until now. At this point in my life I can afford to buy a fun car at 4 times the price but picked the Z because of the retro and not because its all new. I can also drive with the windows down something I like to do. I have owned many other cars trucks to many to list and wondered why they didn't just use a proven design form the past because it worked so well. But to instead they changed something a system just to say its new that went from great to crap. To say you have taken a design and improved it is a good way to go. Although there are many similarities the z is everything you ever dreamed of and everything you every wanted your 370 to be. Now that said you will likely and just like in the past be wanting to make the car preform and sound the way you want. And its easy to do if you have the money to do so. Although there is nothing wrong now with the way it came from the factory. In additional to the exhaust I do plan to Track this car but mainly it will be just a fun weekend car but my next step is to install some NISMO coil overs. It won't change the ride but give it that extra stiffness that I want for track. The Z is a Bad Ass retro ride and totally a ticket machine. I have 2500 miles on mine now one of the best decisions I have ever made. I had a 2000 911 for about 2 years. The Z is faster for one and now sounds much the same and handles close if you could get the traction. But the biggest thing I have a 7 year warranty free oil changes with the Z. The 911 cost a lot to maintain AKA IMS Bearing the reason I got rid of it. This Z is a Z not in the same class as the C8 vet the C8 is a super car, if you thinking about that and likely a safer car do to no wheel spin. I had that choice and went with the Z. But the Z just fits me and I like a little wheel spin at times.
Did you get the street or track exhaust?
@@EryrDubstep it's the nismo street 98db from Nissan. Its totally the way to go and staying under warranty also. It's the way it should have came from the factory.
Some amazing backroads in Sheboygan County. Also, careful of that straight into Elkhart Lake - I've gotten a number of tickets there!
love the new z .. sadly not available in the EU
I was looking forward to it. I just bought the GR Yaris instead.
That's a win regardless. How the hell did you manage to get a GR Yaris though??
@yay842 I bought a used one. No way was I going to pay for the markup.
EU emissions regulations is why the Z can't be there anymore
It's honestly both good and bad that you go through the car and can be like "yup exactly like it was on the 350". It really seems like Nissan's performance division is just kinda sticking with what they have, just doing little updates here and there, even for what is ostensibly a new car with the Z. Like the GTR as well, just getting a facelift despite being like 15 years old. At least the engine seems to be a lot better, so that much is changed/improved. Really sucks about the price (well, the markups), but that goes for everything now, especially cars.
It's not that Nissan is sticking with what they knew. Nissan literally have no money to put into R&D, let alone R&D in small production sports car.. Or else they wouldn't be selling re bodied Mercedes.
Yeah this has always been Nissan's thing, the whole incremental improvement philosophy. Even though an R32 and R34 look different a lot of the suspension and engine upgrades were interchangeable, there were even parts that could be swapped between the GT-R and Z and S chassis of those similar years, but the cars were all made for different drivers. The R35 and RZ35 we can buy today are way better than the cars from 20 years ago even though they share the same chassis. It's like Nissan kept all the things that worked improved the stuff that didn't and knew certain parts like exhausts and suspension were going to be upgraded anyway by enthusists.
Plus I will take a JDM classic that was evolved by the original manufacturer over a Euro tuner car with a nostalgia stick swap any day.
I wish Toyota had the same philosophy. I would much rather have an updated 2JZ -- a rebadged BMW is off the table for me. That engine is still used in motorsport. Put it with a new ECU and we're good.
Most car technology was nailed down in the 90s; small increments to perfect the flaws detected in 20 years of usage is all we really need.
I saw one for the first time in person two days ago in my S2000, they look great in person, it’s so stupid that dealers are marking these up so true enthusiasts have no chance to buy an affordable sports car.
I'm still craving this car. I held out from announcement to release for this but the moment it came out it was marked up too high and the supply never met demand so that starting price was just outrageous. Hoping that down the line it comes down so I can finally get into one of these. I love the aesthetic, but I also like that this feels like a GT car - I'm not really looking for a super sports car, but a fast one that drives well.
Curious how you found the sitting position and the seats themselves. I test drove one of these and even after a 30 minute drive had lower back pain. Plus you sit higher than some sedans in this thing. A bit of a deal breaker for me.
this car is so cute i’m going to buy it rn
it sounds like a GTR! Love it!
I really wanted one of these. But they were and still are pretty much non existent. The very few that did pop up for sale ended up being heavily marked up or already bought by someone who had a in with the dealership. It was very depressing because my childhood dream car was a nismo 350z. I ended up leasing a 2022 WRX and hopefully when my lease is up maybe these new Z will be more affordable and actually available.
This just feels like a car that it's best to wait for the refresh (if there is one) in the future
Looks like it shifts smooth. No clunkiness from what I can tell.
Shame in Europe we don't even know about this car! Definitely prefer this one over a Mustang. Also quite a time ago I''ve heard a new stock V6 sounding well enough, this one does imo!
you can buy a gr yaris which we would literally get arrested for driving here
@@nutsackmania I'm interested, why would you get arrested for this? What is illegal about it?
I had an 82 280ZX I bought new. It was the perfect car imo. I wish they would go full retro and build one just like it. Inline 6 and all
Juts bought a 2024 sport 01/24. Wish it had positive traction, but I am very happy with the car. It's a rocket with just a bit of danger as he said in the video. It really can be scary in the sport with a bit less grip with Yokahama performance tires and no positive traction, but I can replace those for under a grand. Unfortunately I had to sacrifice for wallet's sake. The performance has 2 different size tires on front and back, so expect to fork out more to keep your performance model tip top. I am still feeling out the cars limits and have some breaking in to do before I really turn her loose. Oh....for those in the know and curious, they fixed the 2nd gear grinding problem that some complained about in early releases. No gear grind at all. PLENTY of juice to get your adrenaline pumping. So far no complaints and lots of thrills.
That CAT is wringing it out!
I love that it feels the same as the previous Z's... If you want a different car, get a different car! Why move away from something that's awesome?
Missed that tunnel rippage oppurtunity
Nissan might owe you a nice little check after this. You sold us on all the reasons we at least respect the Z and might by one!
Z cars and the raodsters are so much fun to drive
I adored the 350Z since I saw it in NFSU. The tail lights were what really grabbed me. They were sharp and unique. Now it looks kinda silly.
Sharp and unique? Sir are you sure you are talking about a 350z those cars were anything but sharp
@@123cornflakeman The taillights specifically. Child-me was adamant Dodge could have flipped them upside down, stuck them on the front of the viper and given it headlight fangs.
My first dream car
1:24 i was listening to this while driving in a racing game and i was like, "wtf did he do to the car." then im like oh...
Fyi the key Fob proximity has always been programmed that way. The key literally has to be in the front seat in order to work, and the REV hang is due to the Synco Rev System and electronic throttles in response to the engine speed. You dont feel a difference with throttle response unless you disable the rev match and turn the throttle sensor.
6:08 the blackwing you reviewed has it.
Just curious Ted, opinion modern sports cars vs classic/retro, sports cars?
2:38 At least they left holes for bonnet struts if you want to instal them
Can't wait to see the Nismo version 👀🤝
The bulldozer at 11:35!
He kept apologizing and I was like dude. You’re making my day
Rear end is very 300zx, dig it
yep, just made the mistake to look at how much these are going for near me. Maybe 4-5 years (or more, oof) before I'd consider buying one used... with parts of this thing being 25-26 years old by then, could you register it as a classic? 😅
Would love to see a modified one as well in the future 👌
This is where Nissans shine, they are great touring cars out of the box, but once the squishy stock suspension and open diff is swapped out for more hard core stuff the chassis really comes to life. Now the Z34 has the looks and a stiffer chassis, the last Nissan sports car that looked this good was the G35 and Z32 before it, two timeless designs.
Still have never seen one of these on the road or anywhere lol.
still cant believe were not getting this in the uk. id love to get one as my next car but nope /:
It was clear that you owned a Z when you kept harking on the rev hang lol. I miss my 350z. Hopefully there is a time in the future when the supply is good and dealer mark ups are not to the moon so I can buy a new one one day.
Excelente 🙂
Interesting. Car enthusiasts these days are going on and on about how in the "good old days" - which in many cases refers to the 90s or early 2000s - were better (and exciting products of that era are indeed shooting up in value recently).
We have this now, which is exactly what the recipe describes - a new car that's like the old ones, because it kind of is. And yet when you think about spending the cash for a new car, the thought of "just" buying an old platform's third iteration kind of takes away from the experience.
If this car was ever as good as an s2000 I’d buy one today.
Lol this car is so far off the 90s sports car. 90s japanese sports cars were indestructible, cheap to maintain, easy to work on, no bullshit electronics or emissions stuff, fun to drive, actually required skill and looked absolutely amazing
I miss my 370z. Modded the crap out of it. Best handling car I ever owned.
Yoo, Quad is hiring!
I know I'm biased, but I would have rather seen them hold off on a new z for a while and instead start from a clean piece of paper and try to make a super basic formula affordable sports car. I genuinely think the 400z is beautiful, but I also genuinely think there's a ton of better cars in its price point. The idea of them trying to compete with the GR86 then trying to compete in that market I think was a little bit more ripe for competition, and could have better helped Nissans falling reputation.
Sports cars don’t make money unfortunately. If they can sell updated versions they’ll just keep doing that rather than fork the $$ for a new platform.
@@NDEEZMiata And they will continue to slip into obscurity. How long can they live on high interest loan financially insecure buyers getting Altimas...I guess time will tell.
@@ConeDodger240 don’t think there will ever be a shortage of stupid people unfortunately lol. Lot of people buy their crossovers
Seems like Nissan started to go downhill after Renault took over. Shame, 1980-2000 Nissans were some of the best cars out there.
@@NDEEZMiata The French? Ruining things!?! Imagine my shock.
@@bubbleman2002 the French seem to have to modes. Brilliant car or absolutely trash.
I owned a 300ZX in the 90's and a 370z in the 2010's. Both were MT, genuinely loved them both, had great times in them both. I would love to own the new Z but everything is in flux:
- I'm okay paying $50K but people are saying you can't get them for less than $60K, I'm not okay with that.
- The new NISMO Z is coming. What will that be like, and how much will it cost?
- Will Nissan make an electric Z? Obviously if they do it will be a completely new platform and an awesome little roadster not unlike the upcoming Porsche EV Boxster.
- If I buy a new Z I want to own it for 10 years. Will owning ICE cars make sense in 5, 10 years from now?
Buy what I know I can fix 😂
New nismo is auto only. They just spit in the face of true nissan enthusiasts. I got a 6speed g37 and I wanted the new z to be my next car now I think it's a waste of time. Nissan is falling off and has hit the panic button. Better off getting an ATS-V or CTS-V blackwing. Has everything + way faster and the price isn't murder.
@@denzelmartin6201 In some ways I understand. The GT-R is also not MT for performance reasons. My biggest concern is the weight. At 3,700 lbs she is a heavy girl.
I test drive Z before but i got the auto. For me z feel good on highway, little twisties. ride feel good. I will put z as great touring car. If i do buy it of course im gonna remap it, change exhaust system. at least stage 2. Long journey car
the price on this car; damn its perfect in every sense for me, but for that price I can find a good used Cayman, that has probably more space, better performance and its just better overall; if it wasnt for that Id daily drive a Z
it wont be faster than this because youre not getting a 718 S for
I forgot this car even came out. I don't think I've even seen one yet in the wild (I live in Japan btw)
I've driven both the Z performance trim ( a really refined sports car), then I test drove the Z Nizmo, WORLD OF DIFFERENCE, the Nizmo is track worthy, and needs a better driver than the regular Z, but the Nizmo nwill rattle your teeth, I'd but the Z Performance trim package, for daily driving
Sounds like a good deal of rev hang...dual mass flywheel?
Thank you for calling it the 400Z that's what I call it too
Why was there two layers of carpet in the boot, are they a bit noisy in the rear?
Is there an 'actually useful centre gauges' package? I hope so
I wonder if the ecu and other important electronics are under the washer fluid reservoir, like an Audi.
i love this car but air conditioner vent in door ? what was nissan thinking when designing this car ?
I ovend several "Z" starting in the 80; I had a twin trubo, what at the time, had alot of horsepower, but it was worse than maintaining an F-14 fighter. The last one I had was a 350z. I was a fast car, but quailty wasn't at the top of Nissan's list.
Drove one of these recently as I was thinking about trading my Type R in for one.
Huge let down as I love Z's. Shifter sucked felt like a toy of course im comparing this to the Type R which has a fantastic shifter so Type R Takes the cake for the shifter feel.
Next was the steering feel, Very numb feeling little to no feedback at all. Again Type R feels much better in this department so Type R gets the point here.
Suspension and road feel. Car felt very wobbly as Highway speed 100 KPH range lots of body roll. Type R feels very planted and sure footed with very little if any body roll ( Have a set of 18's on mine but even stock id say felt better then the Z aswell)
Power - Z has decent power nothing crazy id say its comparable to the R (My R has no engine mods) so id say both are equally quick.
Overall I left very disappointed as I like how the Z looks but for the price I would be paying much more to get out of the R to get into the Z because of stupid mark ups. So with that said I kept my R as it is way more bang for buck and im sure id mop a Z on the track stock for stock.
Yeah this car is turbo manual RWD. We all know Nissan makes trashmobiles, but turbo manual lsd RWD.
@@nutsackmania Yup dont get me wrong I still like the Z but not for the price they want to sell it for. It didnt make sense for me to go from a car thats less expensive that performs better and will most likely hold better value in the end over the Z.
Interesting to hear your comparison. I have a '19 STi, and I love it, particularly the steering, the bolt-action-like shifter, and athletic handling (particularly for such a heavy car). CTR's seem awesome too, from what I've read and watched. They're objectively better than the Subie in just about every measure, yet I've seen several reviewers state they prefer the STi's old-school analog feel.
I was really excited about the Z but the reviews all seem to make complaints similar to what you've stated. It's a shame that even without insane markups, the LSD-equipped trim is so much more expensive, and even then you need to fix the suspension to make it handle properly. And at the end, you'll still have a numb-feeling electric steering rack.
@@ZakTheRipper18 My brother in law actually has a 20 STI with all the bushings upgraded and a conservative tune 300whp and all the reliability mods for it. It is a very fun car if i could choose again Id probably take the STI over the type r for fun factor. Yes the type r is good and way faster then the sti but it is a boring car. Handles well but dosent give you the analog feel like an sti does. Stock for stock type r but once you do all the bushing upgrades and a tune the sti is way more fun.
Id rank it like this
Sti - Most fun when modded
type r - best out of the box if you dont wanna mod
nissan z - decent car but will need another 5-10 grand in mods to make it fun and feel as good as the type r (id take this over sti if stock for stock tho doing 0 mods)
@@Eating-Good The R is certainly faster, but way faster? By what measure?
Curious to see a review of the base model without the LSD!
I appreciate what Nissan did here.. but for me my 22 M440i Gran Coupe gets me back seats, 4 doors, a hatchback and more storage and same performance with a B58.
I think Nissan missed an opportunity with these. Just like you said the people wanted a little more change than they gave. Yes the looks are cool, and the interior is modern. But underneath it’s similar. Which is fine since the aftermarket solved every problem already as it’s a 20yr old platform. If this was priced right it would’ve sold like hot cakes.
The donut hat tho
400hp V6 sounds beautiful!
it sounds ok
vacuum cleaner
It sounds like a vacuum. The B58 in the MK5 sounds much better
It’s just the fake sound in the interior the speakers play the sound and it’s horrible, pretty sure you can turn it off.
@@PRODNXBU mk5 Supra fake noise sounds similar, put a Borla exhuast and cold air intakes and the vr30 sounds beautiful
We want an MPG test!
The civic also does the whole key outside thing.
So what I'm gathering here is that this is pretty much a 350z that's turbocharged. Not a bad thing at all, but that price?? Sheesh forget about it
the back end is so good but i find the front hideous
I'm not in the market right now, a good thing since there's the typical markup for the "gotta be first, gotta have it now" folks. It is on my radar for the future though, and my daughter's when she finishes school. It seems like they got this VERY right, for looks and performance. The engine sounds fantastic, the driver's view is just right. I love that it is NOT like the Supra. That car is an ungainly monstrosity that even being finished in black can't redeem.
The engine in this is just the same engine from Infiniti's "red sport" cars. Q50 Red sport and Q60 Red sport, same exact engine.
that rev hang is crazy... why do they do that?
How do you find the audio system and speakers?
I'll take an incrementally improved classic JDM car over a tuner version of a Euro car with a body kit and sticker swap with stiff shocks. All the complaints about the car can be fixed easily with a few aftermarket parts for the purists who want to feel all the things. Z cars have always been great touring cars that could be made into very competent sports cars with a bit of aftermarket help. In a way it makes it even more of a buy for me since I can take the price difference between a base Z and the Zupra and make it exactly what I want it to be.
I had a 350z Track and drove the snot out of that thing. It just begged to go. You'd just lazily shift through the gears and look down and be going nearly 100 mph and be like, "Whoops, didn't mean to ping triple digits". And yea, if you just going the speed limit in 6th gear you get like 35 mpg. Too bad if you wanna buy one used, they all driven into the ground. Or, they painted lime green, covered in dragon stickers, and have a terrible stainless steel exhaust sticking out the back.
Too expensive 😂but it’s nice bro 😎
Mr. Ted, are you located in WI?
I want a stick shift new Z possibly wait for Nismo version (Manual) or for that money 💰 get a Camaro ZL1 (10speed) instead 👌🏽
