I’m scared for some of those small local bridges in towns with this thing
those would likely have a weight limit.
its stull under 5 tons and ive never seen a bridge with a weight limit less than 5
@@lucapagliai7869 what if two hummers go over it? or even a hummer and basically any other car

I like how they brought back the monster hummer in the name of “environmentally friendly electricity” 😂
The hummer name used to by synonymous with pathetically low range and emissions that would put a coal power plant to shame. Now we have a new hummer with zero emissions and a range on par with some of the most fuel efficient gas vehicles on the market.
@@orange_turtle3412Zero emission when build? Zero emission from the power plant generating the electric power needed to move 9000 lbs? And to produce 1000hp?
Zero emission for the increased amount of tear of the infrastructure, the roads, such a heavy vehicle creates?
Zero emission for the increses road space it needs for driving and parking?
And what about this being a pedestrian killer? Or a danger to people driving sensible sized cars?
@@th5841 I mean the car has zero emissions. I never said it was environmentally friendly. It just doesnt emit anything from itself
@@orange_turtle3412 Ev's in its life cycle produce more carbon emissions than petrol powered cars in its life cycle as of today, we still need coal to power these cars and produce more carbon while mining. Hybrids are the best way as of today. not Ev's unless someone finds the better power source for producing mass electricity than coal. And petrol cars are still fun as heck.

Damn all those canadians lighting their fires! 😂
I finally saw one of these ev numbers on the road. They look so bad ass.
I could never afford one, but love them just the same...
Who knew that a car that has a battery that weighs more than a Miata could be so damn easy to road trip.
This thing rules.
it better be at least decent for $110k sheesh
it better be fucking good for that price

Yeah and for the normal person driving the Miata, or any sedan sized car it doesn’t rule.

the headlights indicating charge are huge brain, now that I've seen it it makes so much sense I can't give any reason why I haven't seen it on another EV yet.
1000% agree. its one of my favorite features
I think rivians have something similar with the front light bar.
I don't want other people knowing how much charge I have.
New hummer on the Merrit looks so calm haha, thats usually a circus when im on
Hey Tedward! Drive safe out there i enjoy your videos!
This car is kinda Dream Car material
I live along the route of your road trip, pretty cool to see!
This thing is a beast. Obviously not really made for a normal consumer but it is a cool novelty
Too expensive, too heavy, extremely inefficient. We're at least a few years away from having efficient SUVs.
Novelty for what?
It's heavy as a freight train, poor range, can't tow any real distance, even poorer range the faster you drive, no serious off roading.
What is the point of this massive lump of shit?
They can make is smaller if they want to. Then I think it would be reasonable.
5:10 when he talks about the heated/cooled seats button.. car reviewers complain that they're are too many buttons then complain when manufacturers find ways to lessen the amount of buttons. Some can't be satisfied
What he says is kinda fair actually, since it seems like only the buttons are physical, but the functions change based on which one you press.
I seen a HUMMER EV one point while driving through I10 one point here in FL. It’s pretty cool to look at and seen one first time
Ive only ever seen one in person. It was in a parking lot in San Diego and the thing took up the entire parking space.
Can confirm, fun to drive
yoooooooo that peugeot 205 and audi sport quattro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That hummer sounds good,it's relaxing to hear. All EVs should have a sound like that. It isn't much cheaper to change than it is to tank up a civic. Might as well get a gas SUV for half the price, lol, but it is cool.
“Might as well”? It’s not a chore owning a Hummer EV it’s a treat. Nobody owns a Hummer because they need it, it’s something you *want.* I don’t think y’all fully understand the concept of a Supertruck. This purchase makes a statement socially and it is money spent for comfort, fun & enjoyment.
@@G-Ratedis 'want' in bold?
I would never buy an electric car without having proper charging capabilities at home
Looks sweet…. Would like a hybrid version.
crazy interior. This car looks exactly like a car from cyberpunk 2077 game unlike tesler cybertruck, which is more like from 2770.
No way! Cool content man 😊
Really weird it has auto hands free driving but in a 55 mph zone it was going all over the place from 59 mph to 76 mph. Here, you get pulled over driving even 1 mph over the speed limit. Same when I lived / worked in PA and KS.
Amazing video.
As the environmentalist: Mining for batteries are a hell of a lot better than the drilling and burning of oil, especially since that material is lifetime of the vehicle not one week of fuel. Ideal? no but we gotta work with realities, at least improvements/shift to LFP packs will reduce material per pack/ eliminate cobalt and nickel.
You do realise that we have to burn coal to charge this death machine. 😐
@@Dang00TheAlienIAmTheRealOne Right because solar, wind, nuclear, hydro, geothermal and tidal all don't exist or anything. Also what if I told you that EV's charged on coal still pollute less than ICE due to the higher efficiency of both the car and power plants?
@@KeeperOfTheSevenKeys. none of which are good enough to actually support the power grid anyway. Everyone seems to forget that. Good luck trying to charge everyone’s cars every night when we can’t even afford to keep the air conditioners running throughout summer currently. If we actually had more more nuclear power plants I would agree, but we don’t.
@@Dang00TheAlienIAmTheRealOne They are though, automakers aren't even able to outpace grid expansion so that's not really going to be an issue.
@@Dang00TheAlienIAmTheRealOneNuclear power produces fuck tons more power per KG of material AND per sqft of space. It is also less deadly than coal, even if you include accidents like chernobyl that was 100% a purposely inaction from the governments, it's still WAAAY safer to build and then use.
Were you at the trumbull mall on thursday the 17th. I thought I saw your truck near the chargers> was there wit my EV6 charging at the 350kw at 245 kw. I have fund trumbull and stratford to be pretty good with charging. I live in southbury CT and work at Ingersoll automotive. would love to see more chargers on our side of the state. We put some huge dc fast chargers at work as well.
i wanna drive that thing so bad
Very attractive vehicle! I want one!
cant wait till i take delivery of mine ...
Im always curios what kind of maintenance does it go thru?
That hummer is illegal to drive on parkways in the NYC tri state area. Its over the maximum weight limit. These new things are so ridiculously big they are in the size and weight range some states consider commercial vehicles.
...let's not go down that route when many countries have weight limits 1.5 - 2x as high because they ACTUALLY maintain their infrastructure. Even in Canada, just across the border, the weight limit is 50,000 lbs higher than the US. Here's the funny part... you guys max out at 80,000lbs, but in Canada you can drive on our roads and then somehow fit 5 of these hummer EVs IN your trailer and still be underweight by 5,000lbs. It's not a problem with the car, it's literally a poor infrastructure problem. You guys dump too much into your defense and military and NOTHING into your own people and then wonder why your country is falling apart.
Also you are completely lying and purposely leaving out context. According to New York law, a NON-COMMERCIAL vehicle is 26,000lbs or below. This hummer is only around 10,000lbs which means you can 2.5x that trucks weight and still be considered a passenger vehicle and not a commercial vehicle.
I like how you mentioned Electricity is NOT free. People need to weigh costs to charge VS filling up with diesel fuel or gasoline. This was barely cheaper than filling up my Ram 2500 with a Cummins but I get 600 miles of range on the highway with my Cummins. My Ram weighs 8,000lbs, when I get 600 miles to range I am not towing, and I am going on long road trips.
@unixsuperuser….. that’s not even close to the truth . My Raptor cost $150 to fill up, my M3 cost $70 to fill up, my S7 cost $90 to fill up….hell my sons 2022 Civic cost $45 ….. price per “fill up “ HEAVILY favors the EV the difference is entry price .
This is still cooler in every way lol can your 2500 Ram do a 12 second quarter mile?
@@LisaAnn777meh ram has a higher top speed and more range more power.
Was that lucid going with you or was it coincidental that a white lucid what at both charging stations
So let me get this straight… You have to drive slower on the highway so you don’t drain your battery too fast? You spend money on food/shopping while your truck charges for 40+ mins (which doesn’t even get you to full) and still pay $50? Charging stations aren’t everywhere and the ones that are out there have only 1-2 working machines? Did I miss anything?
If/wen I get an EV eventually I’ll almost certainly splurge on a portable batt pack from Anker or whoever else makes em. Like having a 5 gallon can with you on a trail wen using a PEV
The problem is, they don't hold much charge and they also charge very slowly.
Thats not how that works, at all
When he got to the windshield wiper fluid, you can tell he was slowly losing his shit lol
2019 Dodge ram 5.7 Hemi - $60 + or - for fuel from e to f. Around 413 miles on a full tank ... this shit still doesn't make sense to buy and ain't cheaper.
I understand doing the 80% on the day to day driving to protect the battery. But when you take trips I would think you should do 100% just in case. Also can you carry a small generator with a 30 amp plug on long trips to charge?
looked like u were going to lv connected to the charging station. Good edit :)
I just seen one on the road today and it was something out of halo or cyberpunk movie type 😂
I can’t believe people actually sit and wait for 30-50 mins charging a car when you can pull into a gas station for 4 minutes and out lol it still baffles me that people buy EV’s
Wealthy people know the value of time. Poor people don’t. Hence why poor people will waste 40-50 mins charging (to save money on fuel) and simultaneously go spend $50-$75 on a meal or shopping while they wait for their car to charge 😂
a 3/4 ton gasser is still cheaper to own and daily drive than any electric truck. We're just not there yet.
Hilarious how it makes a Range Rover look as big as an MX5 8:22
Out of curiosity, why were you using the 150 kw chargers? The Hummer EV is one of the few vehicles that can utilize the 350 KW electrify america chargers.
How is the road noise? Wondering if it’s noisy because of the removable panels
Some dude has one where I live and it looks small next to the Mega Raptor it parks next to. It’s comical
Yeah, but that mega raptor doesn't weigh nearly 10000 pounds. You can bully shitty pickup drivers in the hummer.
It just seems so vulnerable to be WAITING for the batteries to charge.
Except that almost nobody just stands there and waits for their car to charge. They go shopping or eat lunch at a nearby restaurant, and 20 or 30 minutes later they come back to an EV that's ready to go.
@@beanapprentice1687 Why would YOU know what people do?
@@craigster1234 Simple. I follow communities of EV drivers and have learned all about their driving and charging habits.
@@beanapprentice1687 Get lost.
Man what a machine! Just wish it weighed a lot less
Let’s not mention the THREE wiper blades 😮
Exactly…I would give almost anything to buy the Hummer and drive it in Cambridge, MA…: “wait…no pollution…but it uses bigger batteries…it’s just so…so big…”.
There's something about driving a street legal EV monster truck that's special 😅
what was the avg cost per mile?
being a more expensive car because it's electric and paying $50 to recharge, is it cheaper than a regular car, something I would pay $30-$40 to fill up.(not necessarily a regular Hummer)?
might as well live in it too
40 minutes sitting around waiting for your car to charge😂 couldn’t be me man
Using 70s technology.... Nasa half-assed a partnership with like Hyundai or Honda (an Asian car manufacturer) to produce better batteries. In a year they came out with a battery that could hold 2x the energy and charge from 0 - 100% In 15 mins. Bottom line is gas cars had over a hundred MORE years of development than EVs, so don't be surprised if it acts like 100 year old technology.
I know, it's ridiculous, especially since some of the charging stations don't even work properly.
40 mins IF the station is actually working 😂
The problem with EVs is they’re all too expensive and nobody can afford a house so they can charge at home. Until the housing crisis is solved or it doesn’t take 30+ min to “fill up” EVs will never be mainstream
Why are you so concerned with EVs being mainstream? It sounds like you’re hoping they don’t become mainstream but it’s sorta too late for that. Anti EV clowns shouldn’t even be in the comments of EV reviews if you’re uninterested.
@@grassberries Yes I did read it all, again what data warrants the idea “EVs will never be mainstream”? They already are. People don’t just charge at home.
tesla model 3 and y are relatively cheap

The door closing most certainly DOES NOT have a solid sounding thunk, but that’s to be expected for G.M., though ridiculous for a 10k lb truck.
How could you not have the charger in your house when you got this beast 😅😅😅
I dont own it...it's a press car. it was dropped off to me by GMC for a week.

@11:12 that's route 15!
Sure will be nice when you can use Tesla Superchargers. Then you can buy a Cybertruck as well to match :) Also, why haven't you put in a wall charger at your house? Where are the 300Kw electrify America stations or can't the hummer take it that hard?

I wanted one but it looks so similar to the Bronco Sport I have from the front .. I really loved it but then… I probably will end up getting one just because I’ve been looking at them for so long and I really accidentally just bought the Bronco because I was bored. It’s not electric though and it really is a disappointment with the 3 cylinder motor.
Wow I had no idea charging was that expensive!
Its not. Most I've paid with my car to fill up was $20, that was a one time thing. Its usually between $7 and $9 to fill up,.
@@brianb5723 It literally just was...
@@blackhatch46Just going to point out that charging at home costs 1/4th to 1/5th the current rate of public charging. So maybe $20 to “fill up” your Hummer unless you’re driving more than the max range in a day.
Charging at a DC fast charger is always more expensive, its like going to the most expensive gas station during rush hour and buying the most expensive gas.@@blackhatch46

If you buy one of these, do you they provide the fast charging equipment for home?
No. You need to buy a wall connecter or a plug in connecter. Lvl 3 fast charging is not available for homes
CO2 is only 0.04% in our atmosphere. If every American car and truck were EV you would only lower CO2 by 0.0002%. America's power grid can't support that many electric cars and one good volcano eruption destroys your CO2 savings.
Very true.
Sounds legit, but a few points:
As the power grid shifts towards cleaner energy sources like solar, wind, and hydro power, environmental benefits of EVs will increase. I think you assume that the power grid will remain static, which isn’t the case.
Also, EVs can SIGNIFICANTLY improve air quality in urban areas, reducing the concentration of pollutants like nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, which have direct health consequences for people around them. Think: if you want tk do a 20 minute run in the city every day, do you really want to be breathing car exhaust fumes?
Last point, the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes annually is less than the co2 emitted by cars.
@@seansull if you only have a EV you're chained to the grid. It's not about the climate, they want the control over you. If they need to lock you down, they turn off the power or ration the power your home can use daily.
