Silk painting | salt effects part 1

Salt leave a beautiful impression on the silk fabric. Salt is used in silk painting to produce random pattern and texture. Different types and sizes of salt produce different effects. This is very exciting technique which produce very interesting texture in different directions. Textures are surprisingly different and unpredictable in silk painting.
I used salt rock in my video, I broke the salt rock and divided it into different parts. Then I sorted the pieces into different sizes.

The use of salt has been used for many years in painting fabrics. Its use not only creates a beautiful impression on the fabric but also adds beauty to its design. IN this video I have used salt in different ways.

1- China silk size 18"x18"
2- Rock salt
3- Silk paints
4- Table salt
5- Wooden frame

Hi can you pl help me with one question. I want to use solvent based clear gutta which I will not remove. Now with what should I trace my design. If I use pencil the pencil marks will be trapped in the gutta line. Pl help. Thanks

Its not so much difficult you can do it watch this video and check the tracing.put ur design under the frame and make design directly with gutta.but make sure ur design should be in pencil on paper. Some are spred the fabric on printout and apply gutta and thwn tretch it on the frame.and if u r uaing trasparent gutta u can wash ur fabric and remove the gutta from fabric. I always use dervent oil pencil for my drawing its easy to remove.u can check silk painting drawing pens which can be remove

Yes you can wash the fabric after ironing if you are using silk paints. Silk dyes need to be steamed

Yes, but before washing, iron the fabric from both sides in case of silk paints iron fixed and steam the fabric in case of silk dyes which are mostly steam fixed then wash the fabric because you need to remove salt from fabric.

@@castlechalabi3366 yes.1st draw your sketch on fabric.if u want to use silk paints thn apply gutta for outline and fill the paint inside gutta .if u want to use fabric colors which are in paste form no need to apply gutta u can paint directly after sketch
