I am watching your content again. And thinking of what kinds of resistant I want to use. I heard of batik, n soy wax. But i dont like how sloppy it is when they apply it on silk. I love how you make you gutta line so skinny and small. I want to make beautiful fine line art. I hope i can use your gutta technique with acid dye powders for silk fabric.

Hi Mandy. Another great video and thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Regarding the material used, ie: in this instance silk, can an alternative fabric be used, such as cotton, cotton mix, etc? Can you please advise.
Hi Allison, thanks for the message, Gutta is specifically made for silk. Of course you can also use it as a medium on other material just like acrylic, but it requires other process if used on craft for wearing. Hope that make sense to you.
Hello. Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. I’m very new to silk painting and have been struggling a lot. Sometimes with gutta, sometimes with colour and sometimes with the fabric. I’m in China and don’t know what Chinese silk will be suitable for the painting. Can you plz help me understand the name of pure silk that I can use with pabeo gutta and setasilk colours?

Hi, thank you for your videos. Have you ever colored transparent Gutta? I have a hard time to find other Gutta than black, gold, silver and transparent. But would like to have a green or darkblue one. And I have no clue if and how I could color tranparent Gutta. I don't want to by a lot things I don't need, becouse I am doing just a couple of projects. I mixed gold and black or silver and black or transparent and that went just fine but this is both Gutta.

Maam can we add some liquid to the gutta from the bottle to make it easy to flow.
After a gutta squeeze bottle is over with its colour do you rinse off the colour or add more colour to the bottle .

Hi Mandy. Have you ever used deka for your drawings? besides DuPont what can you recommend?
I used Marabu silk dye, they are wildly supplied I think. You can also order your local supplies, the best way to do is to buy a same colour from a few different brand and paint side by side (use gutta to separate) fix the colour and decide which works best for you. 😊

Hi there!! Does this Gutta even the black one not come out with the wash after steaming? Is it not necessary to scrub to get out? Today I finished a scarf with this black gutta and rubbed it in the wash. Some gutta came out including the trace. I guess I shouldn't have rubbed it off 🤦♀️

Coloured Gutta resist is made to be a part of the design, silver, gold, black or other colours. If you don't need it to show after steam you can use the transparency gutta, it is made to be washef away after steam.
P.s. even the coloured once shouldn't be easliy rubbed off after 3 hours of steam. But they will fade with time (years of using or after many times of washing)
@@MiuArtStudioUK thank you. I asked you because there are other brands that you have to rub it when washing. The color stays on but the hard part of the gutta comes off. Now I know this one doesn’t do that. Thanks to you 👏👏👏🙏.

Merci infiniment Mandy pour vos conseils,je voulais savoir où acheter où se procurer tous les accessoires pour pratiquer la peinture sur soie correctement. Les plumes sont les embouts pour viser sur le tube de guttas, les pinces pour tendre la soie sur le cadre, les élastiques pour le cadre, le cadre pliable ( je ne suis pas trop bricoleuse).les pinceaux chinois, les couleurs de peinture et guttas. Mer infiniment pour votre compréhension et votre attention. Vous êtes une artiste exceptionnelle et brillante. Les explications sont très claires et faciles à faire. Je souhaite vous suivre sur youtube car j habite assez loin. J ai appris la peinture sur soie, mais différemment,et je vous avoue sincèrement que vous êtes incroyable et tellement plus agréable et vous êtes un professeur formidable donc ,je change de professeur et c'est vous mon idole. Je suis très touchée par vos commentaires élogieux, merci infiniment ! Pour les 'plumes,' il s'agit en réalité d'aiguilles de distribution à bout émoussé, souvent désignées sous le nom d'"Industrial Blunt Tip Tapered Dispensing Fill Needle." Vous pouvez les trouver sur Amazon ou eBay.
Pour une option plus durable, je recommande également l'utilisation de pointes en métal pour les guttas, que vous pouvez trouver sur le site web que je vous ai indiqué.
Pour les pinceaux chinois, les couleurs et les guttas, Silkcraft.co.uk reste mon choix privilégié, surtout si vous êtes hors du Royaume-Uni. Un fournisseur local pourrait être une bonne option à long terme.

Les embouts à visser sur les tubes de guttas, pas les plumes en inoxydable mais celles en plastique orange, est ce que je peux vous les commander car en France, les accessoires pour la peinture sur soie sont très restreints. Et leurs stocks ne sont pas aussi achalandés que chez vous. Je pratique la peinture sur soie depuis 10 ans et vos méthodes sont nettement meilleures qu en France, c est pour cela que je suis tous vos explications et votre travail sur la peinture sur soie.
