  • This video is about salt effects on different fabrics like
    1- Grip silk
    2- Raw silk
    3- China silk
    4- Chamois silk
    5- Plain chiffon
    6- Crinkle chiffon
    7- Cotton
    8- Cotton karandi
    Material i used in this video:
    1- Fabrics(Grip silk, Raw silk, China silk, Chamois silk, Plain chiffon, Crinkle chiffon, Cotton, Cotton karandi)
    2- Salts (table salt, rock salt)
    3- Silk paints (seta silk local brand)
    4- Thumb tags
    5- Wooden frame adjustable
    6- Brushes
    In this video, the purpose of seeing the effect of salting on different fabrics was just that each cloth gives a different effect. Different numbers and sizes of salt gives us surprisingly different effects.
    --------------------------------------
    Salt water:
    Salt water is amazing to create different patterns on the silk.
    salt in its natural form as a crystalline mineral that's why when we mix the salt in water and apply in silk painting, Wherever salt water is applied, the color leaves its place.
    How to make salt water?
    Two table spoon table salt and 6 table spoon hot water, Mix salt and water until the salt dissolves well. Now that it's ready, it can be used.
    -----------------------------------------------------
    I also have some tips in the video which are as follows;
    1- Whenever you want to take salt effect on the any fabric, first apply water on it and then sprinkle the salt on the wet cloth.
    2- If your weather is hot, you will apply a little more water to the fabric.
    3- Turn off the fan to get the salt effect.
    4- To take a salt effect on a thick fabric, apply water on it and then paint and leave it for a while.
    5- After five to seven minutes, sprinkle the salt on the cloth.
    6- A thick cloth takes time to dry, so don't use too much water on it.
    7- Different sizes of salt affect the fabric in different ways, And the effect on the fabric is also different.
    8- The purpose of taking the salt effect on different clothes was just to see how the salt leaves an impression on them.

      You can use silk paints on synthetic fabric but colors do not stay long on synthetic fabric especially synthetic grip

    The effect with salt on silk looks beautifulif painted with silk colours but with silk dyes,flop show in my case.can you please elaborate and clarify.Agree or disagree?

    • @abidzcraft
      @abidzcraft  Před 3 lety

      Yes you are absolutely right in case of silk paints but i can not say anything about silk dyes because i never used.but i guess it depends on the brand and quality of the dyes.ifwatercolors can give the salt effect on the paper why not silk dyes.there is must be prob in quality ofdyes
