youve earned a sub been watching a lot of your videos recently, Its nice too see your take and views on some of the points, like you say alot of people will just see the shouting and swearing and not take anything from it. At the end of the video you was correct, He posed as a recruit to get extra information and too keep a close eye on them. You should really watch the series, its awesome!
They also do the same show but with celebrities who are used to living affluent,comfortable lifestyles and he pushes them just as hard=A really good watch.

Yes Jamie was a mole on the inside, underperforming to add realism while every so often having secret meetings with Ant, Billy, Foxy and Ollie. He would tell them the strengths of the recruits but more importantly the weaknesses, so the DS's could push them to breaking point and VW.

The biggest thing is to keep calm something that most people cannot know unless they have been taught ahead of time. My father was a Marine in WWII and taught me things as a kid when I went to boot camp I was worlds ahead of the game.
I was the middle child of 9, No food in the house and no father. We kids fought constantly sothat a DI screaming and trying to stress me out was pointless. I too was worlds ahead in bootcamp... but in the end it was just training.

I am a civi who has never served and I honestly wish that this is what PE was like in High School.
And most importantly don't stand out.
Therefore all progress relies on the foolish(stubborn) man.
We've always told our kids there's no I in team.
This is a really interesting series. They have everyday people taking part and also TV celebrities versions too. They show how not only are these experts very tough as they need to be, but also that despite the toughness they are actually very kind and helpful. If you have had personal problems, situations in the past that have upset you then they will listen to them and try to help you out and encourage you that you are strong. I never realised how helpful and kind they could be until I watched this series. 😊❤️
Total respect to u for giving your respectful insight to this show aswell as being respectful in how Ant conducted himself. He's always been firm but fair. I've watched numerous things with him in & I've always been a big fan of his.
They put him in as a recruit to report on all of their weaknesses so they could exploit them.

This statement could not be more true. My good friend spent a lot of time outside the wire in Afghanistan, and a few other deployments. He's now retired, but even now he still feels the need to do presence patrol's in his neighborhood before he goes to bed at night. It's just hard wired into him to always pay attention to his surroundings.

Ant is former SBS, however one of the other instructors is a 22SAS legend.
They're both special forces, it's the same. Also Ant is a legend himself being a sniper for so long.

They go through the exact same training man. Difference is Ant was in the navy equivalent of the special forces ( SBS ) rather than the Special Air Service ( SAS ) Also Ant is a legend being a sniper for so long aswell as always being the first man into a compound. Also he served as part of a holy trinity in the British armed forces a Royal Marine 9 Para & the SBS

I was Australian Infantry and left in 2005, but my training is still burnt into my brain. Once a Soldier, always a soldier. I can tell You'll always be a Marine too, we can never really be a normal Civvie and thats fine by me....

Yeah a great shame - he was sacrificed to the false "gods" of the politically correct wankers that infest all of our mainstream media. That is why after a fat seagull perched on my outdoor TV Ariel and collapsed it in the Summer of 2016 - I refused to have it put right even when a builder friend of mine offered to replace the rusty fittings refix it. It wasn't a hard decision in fact at that stage I was watching very little TV anyway and the news programs not at all as they were far too transparently biased for me to take them seriously. In fact I did watch RT from time to time because ironically I found it far less biased than our own BBC!!

True that mate - it does set you up for the rest of your life, but sadly doesn't prepare you for the moment you have to become a civvie. I've been out exactly four years and two months. After 27 years of service, I find civvie life to be distracting, unstructured and disorganised. Trying to adjust has proven to be quite a challange. Hopefully, the feeling of disorientation will pass and all will be gravy.
I really enjoy watching you react to this show, I've seen all the episodes and it's relentless, they try to break everyone.

I have 4 kids, two of my own and two step kids, and I raised them all the way I was raised and be damned if I was ever going to allow them to act like a bunch of self entitled pricks I see in the news and walking the streets. One of those kids, my youngest step son (19), Is a little asshole though and his dads family spoils the shit out of him and his dad is a POS drug addict alcoholic women beater and has told his son he doesn’t have to listen to me or do as I say in my own house, so he and I have some serious issues with each other. Needless to say, he doesn’t live in this house anymore. Now I have one, my oldest step son (22), that’s in college and about to join the fire academy, he said he wants options in his life. I have another, my actual son (20), who is currently and MP/dog handler in the USMC and says he is making a career of it so he can retire at 38-40 and then either become a SWAT member when he gets out or private security. Lastly, my daughter (17), is about to graduate HS, is in the top-5 of her class, has been taking dual credit classes her entire high school career, is already enrolled in college and is planning to become an OBGYN Nurse Practitioner and something else which I can’t recall. So I think Ive done a damn good job as a father, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad, and I know they will be a positive force and influence in society.

I’ve never served military but it’s true; my dad is always whining about everything from day to day and he moves like he’s on continuous vacation. My grandfather, which served military (although not in the west) doesn’t complain about anything and works with less than only a 30% functioning heart, caused by his heart attack. He moves at a rapid pace even when he eats!!

He was a recruit gathering Intel and sharing it. He had to scale down his performance so the other guys didn't think how good he was. He said that was the hardest thing. They got him to lose something and the group got punished. He handed his number in and then got revealed. Then you saw the ruthless side of him as a DS

Everything about Ant's demeanor screams badass. I've never watched the show... any reality show... but I want to see this one.

Also,I've noticed that Ant has a certain kind of look in his eyes.
There's a war movie called 12 Strong starring Chris Hemsworth from The Avengers movies and the Thor movies and it's based on a true story.And in the movie,there's a great scene where Afghan warlord General Abdul Rasheed Dostum talks about warriors who have the ''killer eyes''. Ant's definitely got the killer eyes,just as former U.S. Navy SEAL Jocko Willink and many others who were in the military have the ''killer eyes''.
@@JR-ju3kj I started reading his book "The Fear Bubble". In the opening chapter, Ant is talking about a meeting he had with a guy in one of London's numerous wealthy private members clubs. He mentions that during the meeting his mind started to wander and he began to fantasise about how he would react if a bunch of terrorists/armed men stormed the building. He picked out items to be used as weapons, where he would take cover, and even thought about the damage the heavy glass ashtray would do to the face of the man he was actually having the meeting with. An interesting insight. Men like him from their experience, can "switch on" at a split second's notice.

My brother was a SAS Sargent in Vietnam. I applied and was rejected. Years later I asked my brother if he could find out why I was rejected and he was told I was mentally unstable. Looking back to 1968 (from memory) I can see they really knew their job.

Seen the show. Jamie was part of the civilians planted by the staff as a mole, to gather info on like who was weak and strong. They did this a few more times. Good show!!!!!
Have you seen the P Company documentary from 1992? I highly recommend it. It follows the Parachute Regiment selection process. I watched an interview with Sgt Eddie Stone et al a while ago and they basically said that during SAS selection, the DS don't care whether you pass or fail. They are not there to drive you on, it's all up to you whereas with the Para selection, the DS push you and try to get the best out of you. This series seems more in line with Para selection than SAS.
It's television, brother. An uninterested DS wouldn't make interesting telly.

I will say, that my go to (sometimes) for relieving stress in times of crap holes was to laugh or smirk. It was my way to keep from going crazy, even in training.

You should check out "SAS: Are you tough enough" It was still a watered down, shorter version of selection, but it was less dramatised, and more like the real thing. Some of the tabs were actually on the same routes used in real selection, but with softer time limits. There wasn't all the shouting and abuse, and the "recruits" were even given a mission to plan and execute with blank rounds

SBS is a branch of the SAS that specialize more in water based operations, similar I guess to Navy Seals, but is still under the same umbrella as SAS, doesnt get talked about as much though
They’re two completely different units, governed by different branches of the armed forces, the SBS certainly is not part of the SAS

@@paulhumphreys8238 Get your facts right, its one male officer, and one female officer. After leaving the armed forces, after serving for many years and seeing combat. Ive read and heard how hard it is to transition back to being a civilian. Very hard to turn it off. Ant owned it, said how he regretted it, and I bet he also apologised to the police officers involved. My last four relationships have been with men who don't mind getting hands on with a woman (and men), most have been that way their whole life, they won't change. They didnt do 4 months jail for what they did (yes should have called police, but its never as simple as that). Ant has changed, and overcame his demons and succeeded. Look at him now. Wife, 5 lovely kids, older, wiser and a true leader. And now a TV star, alongside his awesome, tough as fk colleagues!

We are Belgians and my grandpa didn't speak good English, always said it's a Latin sentence. 😅
You may or may not know that: During WW2, many of the Belgian 1st Parachutist Battalion were part of the British 5th Special Air Service and after the war, they retained the SAS badge, motto and many of their traditions.
Therefore, it looks like your grand father was technically an SAS soldier.

What I love about all military worldwide & this guy narrating proves my point, there is a natural kind of team mentality automaticly have a real respect for each other.
'Jamie' was one of the 'participants' of the show. He gained intel on how the recruits were doing; their weaknesses and strengths all whilst acting and living like one of them. He profiled them. Then he fed this information the DS, who later used it to tap into the recruit's personalities exposing their weaknesses to build them up or tear them down.

That Billy guy, Billy Billingham did 27yrs service, 17 as a sniper in the SAS. He went on to be Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's, Tom Cruise, Sir Michael Caine and Russel Crow's personal bodyguard.

He wasn't just a sniper. He's basically trained in virtually everything. Jungle warfare, demolitions, hostage rescue, medic, you name it.

You can learn so much, even for civilian life, if you undergo military training. I've only had training for 9 months, 7 years ago, and I still find myself doing things I've learned there.
I see these videos and I see love. It takes love to put this much effort into improving someone, and I very much appreciate it. I don't think those people even 10% understand the value they're getting out of that TV show.

Yeah, Jamie was one of the participants at the beginning, acting like he was a civilian, but really he was a spy for the Directiing Staff (DS). It’s a great show, there’s about 6 seasons of it now.
The military has certainly had time to perfect the art of making warriors and weeding out the others

In basic training back in July 2012 one recruit got told to come in pt, he told us to show up in full combats. So the Sgt said “ go back and change in pt 2 minutes” then show up in pt and then says “ everyone in full combats 2 minutes” kept doing it for 1 hour and a half. The recruit listen flawless after!

I agree. I love SAS WDW and tried to watch what I assumed is the American version, 'selection' because I thought it would be good. But I just found the US military guys sooo over the top, Couldn't watch it at all.

My understanding was that SAS are selected from already established and seasoned soldiers from the army ranks and so didn't go through all the shouty drill sergeant type stuff, rather they were set tasks and challenges and they were just left to it with their self motivation.
They still get drilled. Harder and longer than regulars
Just to clarify, the only ex-SAS member in that program is Billie Billingham, the rest are from the sister SF SBS. :)
and the "undercover" one, he is also SAS. But SBS is very close to SAS if we think selection.

They are practically the same. SAS is like the army version and SBS is the Navy version. Both same selection, similar training and same secrecy
The selection for the SAS and the SBS is exactly the same.

Theres also additional training for the SAS for example mountain troop
Really enjoy watching you react to the UK military. I'm from Manchester, UK and served in ok telic 2 Iraq 2003. SAS who dares wins is a great reality tv show. You should read the 4 autobiographies the instructors wrote. The older one out of the lot (BILLY BILLINGHAM) Is the real deal. 17 years old straight into the parachute regiment then onto the SAS..he's a beast and has been knighted by the queen. His book is unreal. Thanks for the content..really enjoyed all your videos.
Mark “Billy" Billingham spent 27 years in the military, 17 of those in the SAS. He rose to the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 (Sergeant Major) the highest rank for a soldier. Some of his time in the SAS was as an instructor and DS on selection.
You're right, he is a beast. He was never knighted though, otherwise he would be “Sir Mark Billingham." He received an MBE from the Queen, not a knighthood.

Hi just would like to say thanks for the great videos I have totally respect for any service man or women that put there country first that are genuine and serving or ex service personnel and must be hard when people out there pretending to be in service or a veteran am a big fan of your channel even though am from uk
