The good old days when everyone feared the SADF. These were exceptional operators, I was fortunate to serve alongside some of them in 32 Battalion days. I remain a proud, but old and exiled, veteran of SA’s bush war. That proud country looks dilapidated now and I often wonder why I and my former comrades made such sacrifices. All I have are the medals and memories but my hatred for the enemy still burns in me. Thank you for the awesome pictures.

Well done bro - 101 was an excellent mobile fighting unit. I know many of the guys from that era - many became SF soldiers. Bear in mind that Special Forces was not only created to fight (that can be done by any proper infantry), but to find, gather Intel, infiltrate and destroy the enemy behind their lines by any/all means necessary (explosives, sabotage, assassinations etc.) - sometimes deep into enemy territory (and various African countries). To train a SF soldier to only go on shootouts with enemy forces is a waste as it cost millions to train but one SF soldier. Regards

@@jrr2377 you are absolutely right. I sounded a bit disrespectful. Our single purpose was contacts and tracking
