My mother grew up in Land between the Lakes. The TVA forced them to move twice. They ended up having to move out of LBL but it’s still very special to our family. There are many hidden treasures there. Great video!

Just a friendly warning...139 officially stops up on the bluff before the descent down to the gravel. Myself and two others were warned this past weekend. LEO are now enforcing this restriction. You can camp down there but you have to park up on the bluff and carry your gear out & back.

My home turf rite there. I live 15 minutes from LBL and we ride there almost every weekend. Beautiful place and great video! And yes, there are many hidden gems out there, just ask us locals when you guys are around again.

My wife and I live in western Ky and have visited the LBL but never the trails. we were searching for information on the trails and found you're video. Now we're looking for a good used Jeep lol . Hope to see you out there some day.

I just got a $180 ticket for camping at Persimmon Beach. Forest service is claiming the road down to the beach is illegal. I asked why they have made no attempt to close the road or post signs. They said because people will just remove them. It’s basically a money making machine for them because there’s nothing that would lead you to believe you cannot drive to the beach. Anyways, you are apparently allowed to camp above the beach. Just do not drive down the hill.
That sucks! We hate to hear that
It’s crazy because the campsite up the hill has trash all over, trees cut down, etc. The lower beach site has clearly been used by people who are cleaning up after themselves and respecting the site.

Same thing happened to 3 of us this past weekend.
@Ian Kreidich the lower beach was trashed too. The "memory tree" is now a home to burned out camp glow sticks, bent tent stakes & empty Modelo bottles.
What road took you to the first spot?
I can't remember the road. It's been a few years ago, and many roads in between. Our tracks are available on our Patreon.

Reading thru the comments about # 2, what do you do about showers. Since you were out for several days? We’re close to retirement and really love the overlanding that you do.
We use body wipes. We are also going to purchase a Joolca system for our longer travels. We are really glad that you like our Channel. Thanks for watching!

We are planning on being back at LBL the 4th of July week.
Oh and the markers you see, usually mark a site of a community displaced by TVA..you will see lots of those around.

@@rotary90 It's not a numbered rd, it's the old Duncan Bay rd off of Gray Truck Trail (130), between Smith and Duncan bays. At least it looks like the same place.

I'm new to the channel, but have been looking for places to go in Kentucky! Thank you! I'm in a stock 2020 Ram Rebel, do you think I'd make it on these trails?
I'm not sure what your ground clearance is but I think you would be fine at LBL if it was dry. Wet down there is a whole different level
This is a great Channel, We need to get you up to 1000 Subscribers faster ! Add more to your Title, you can have 100 words. Your descriptions are great, you Thumbs are great, your videos are super. Ask Lifestyle Overland if they will give you a shout out for eastern Overlanding, since he does mostly western.

@@CoddiwompleOverland They can only say "Sorry, but No" or "Sure!" I see their channel is struggling for content and they are doing cooking segments. I did that over the Christmas period and lost a few subscribers... Cooking viewers are a different breed than Overlanders and Outdoors people. But in any case, good luck and we'll keep watching !

do you use air mattress inside the tent for comfort??
The OVS tent has a great memory foam mattress. We did add an additional 2 in one because we like a softer bed

If its dry, yes. If its wet, stay off the 300 and 400s
@@CoddiwompleOverland ya i live 5 mi south of Lbl, and you can do a lot of it in a stock 4x4 but bigger tires and a lift are way better out there, and its easy to get stuck in some spots, especially in the rain
Great video. I spend most of my free time in LBL and been down just about every mapped road there. It’s a fun and beautiful place.
