🇲🇾| Everything went WRONG. Traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca/ Melaka Malaysia 2023
Vložit

- I left a burning hotel behind, failed to hitchhike out of town, and didn't accomplish my mission to have a drink at the beach. But, we made it to a beautiful place on the coast of Malaysia. We are now in Malacca 😍

When things go wrong it often makes a more entertaining and believable video, so I'm always glad when you share the what-went-wrong moments. Those of us who travel a lot know it is stressful and things often don't go as planned. It looked like a nice river area, kind of like a little San Antonio, Texas riverwalk, if you have ever been there. Good job with the fire. You never know, you might have saved a few lives. So YOU are the champ of the day.
Amazing video. I also live in malaysia
Thanks mate 😁 good to see you enjoyed it 🏆
Sorry to hear things didn't go as planned. Having a drink by the river side is nice too... looks rather romantic, a bit like Hoi An. Honestly, it has been ages since I travelled to Malacca. So the city is probably now much nicer and more tourist-friendly compared to the past. The food there is to die for! 😋
Enjoy your stay in Melaka. And keep us updated with new videos 👌
Thank you! Will do! 😃 Thanks for watching! 😃
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video n for showing your journey to Melaka.
Thanks Yasin 🏆 always nice to be on the road. Thanks for watching again ☺️
@@Chai_Travel Wonderful. 😀
A bad experience is an experience nevertheless. Things that don't kill you will make you stronger. 😬😁 You are a hero now. Stay safe bro.
Aw thanks ZZak! Haha 💪🏻 and you're a champ 🏆 cheers
The nearest beach in Melaka city would be Klebang, around 5 km away
Perfect:) thanks Wan 🏆
But no swimming.... Beware of crocodiles...
Adding that to my CV 😉
Haha nice one mate 🏆 thanks as always 🤗
Hitch hiking is unpopular in Malaysia. Many stories of hitch hikers assaulting the vehicle owner, so many do not want to pick up any hikers ,unless there is physical barrier eg a lorry. ANYWAY, bus fare are cheap.
Hitch Hiking is not a culture in Malaysia because there are many cheap public transportations. Except if you are in the middle of nowhere.. then there might be someone will help you. Stay safe.
Hitching a free ride is not a culture in Malaysia, so hope you're not overly disappointed.😅
Sometimes may work in Cameron highlands
our bus ticket's is already so cheap and the buses are rather on time, so why hitchhike? 😁
@@weeeee8232 true
we don't hitch hiking, but we help stranded one

Hello Chai 😍Oh my goodness what a big dramatic day the fire sounded scary. The adventures of travelling lol Enjoy your time in Melaka thank you for sharing your experiences stay safe and take care. Of course stay Champ which you are.
thank you so much 🤗 yes it I think about it, I was so lucky nothing major happened that day 😅 haha it’s all part of it 😜 thanks again Sue! have a beautiful rest of the day 🏆 cheers
One of those days on the road travelling Chai, what with the heat to deal with too. Scary stuff re the hotel fire WOW!! Malacca looks like an interesting place for sure and well worth going there. Plenty of interviews to be done eh buddy. Love it!! As always well done and stay champ!! 🤩
haha yep 😅 one of those. It could have gone very wrong that day so I’m glad it all worked out at the end. Just a little different than I expected 🫣 cheers mate! have a beautiful one and stay champ 🏆
You can also can find Melaka(Malacca) name at Monument of Discoveries map in Lisbon, Portugal...
Sorry to hear your misadventure. Juz a point to note that hitch hiking is not commonly practiced in Malaysia, furthermore the public transport is very efficient n cheap too. Njy the rest of your trip n stay safe.
I understand:) I just had the idea so I was maybe able to have some good conversations in someone’s car. I’m sure I was not standing at the right spot either 😅 thanks for watching 🤗 cheers
To relax by that lovely urban riverside is a nice consolation for everything starting out so wrong. 😁
haha that’s the way to look at it 😃 thanks again mate 🏆 have a beautiful day
Wish you safe and nice journey
Thanks a ton 😃
My hometown Malacca..my parents's house nearby Klebang beach 😁
Hello mate 👋 - what an intense day - I remember an empty beach with no beer at Malacca 🤔 - Enjoyed 🙏 thanks for sharing
super intense! 😅 especially the start of the day. empty beach sounds nice 😂 no beers? 😑
I checked the fuel price here today in Sydney and one ltre costs A$1.95. A week back it got as high as A$2.20 a litre. Still those costs are way up there compared to when this video was filmed 7 months ago when from memory those prices were around A$1.65 a litre. Its likely the Malaysian prices are much higher now. That hotel fire, wow, you'll never forget that!!
I’ll have to check it out to see what the price are now but I think it’s very steady and cheap as they produce more than they need for themselves (I believe). Man, that was so scary! I’ll never forget
Holy Backpacks, Batman!😄Good to see you, Chai. After a month in Cebu, I'm now in Chiang Mai. So glad to be back traveling again. Good to see you're doing well! 👍🏻🙏
hi Jason! thanks for watching from my favorite city in Thailand 🤩 you’re doing mate! good to hear that you’re on the road 😃 have a great evening already 🏆 cheers!

thanks you Sir Bob ❤️

Thanks again Adam! I have to say it was very scary but we're still alive 😃 We keep on rocking 🥳🥳\
If in melaka there's a small beach call pantai kelebang, it took maybe around 20 minutes to go there
Thanks for watching and the tip 🤗
you’re so friendly chai. hope to see more tourist like you. malacca is my home ❤
Thank you! 😃 I hope everyone is kind to another
Yes ,, there is few beaches in malaka ,,Klebang beach , Tangjung kling beach,, Tanjong bidara beach
If you are planning to head back nortj to KL instead of continuing south, choose the coastal road, you can stop at Kuala Sungai baru/Kuala Linggi for beach time... Or straight to Port Dickson (stay near Blue lagoon/teluk ke ang area)
Thanks guys :D I really appreciate your help and giving me some inside info. I have to visit again on my next trip!
there are lots of nice Malay food at Klebang beach, but I think no beer. Grab some from 7E before you go there.
Welcome to my home town Malacca. This town depends on a lot of Singaporean tourists but with covid lockdown, some businesses had shuttered and now starting to recover slowly. No beaches in the city that you can lay around but there are some seaside strips you can walk around in the Portuguese settlement area or the land reclaimed vicinity along the waterfront otherwise, you really need to hire a car to drive out of the city towards the Tanjung Bidara abt 10-12km.
Thank you 😃
There is a beach in Melaka called " Pantai Kelebang"....
I would love to check it out 😃 thanks for the tip
Glad you got your drink sorry not on the beach but still you got your drink enjoy malacca 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Aw thank you Leslie ❤️
suggest you try Cendol Kampung Hulu (dessert) 🤤😋 by the river ... have fun exploring
Haha, thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try!
@@Chai_Travel 👍
You can actually take the commuter train up to Pulau Sepang in Melaka. The only thing-the train station is not near the touristy places in the city center. My hometown is not too far from the train station, so I always take the train to go back from KL, and then takes a Grab or have my father picks me up from the train station.
Nice one mate. Thanks for sharing
Hope you enjoy in Melaka
thank you
That’s the Life of a Bag Packer. 😉 Good Luck Chai. 🙏
haha that’s right 😜 thanks again Gert
Malacca or Melaka, where it all began. We've no hard feelings of what had happen since Melaka Sultanate empayer have been conquered by the past Colonisers coz now we can make it as a tourism attractive for u to se how does Malaysia is truly Asia.
Luckily you were awake at that time
Haha I was Mohd ;p have a good evening already 🏆
Melaka, nice place....I enjoyed staying there. You might be pronouncing the name wrong Chai. Me....then laka
Good to know! Haha, its hard to say because there is a english name/spelling like Paris and Bangkok :P
Hitching a ride is only popular in Msia during the 1960s until the early 70s. That's it!
🤔 hmm Now I would like to timetravel! :P
after malacca, you are recommended to visit Muar, 1-2 hr from Malacca. Muar is a main entrance door to Johor. Muar is known as 1 of the most famous destination for authentic food. Malaysian called it as a food heaven. many local tourist come to Muar every school holidays for food.. Muar, a royal town of Johor, also was awarded as one of the cleanest town in South East Asia. czcams.com/video/pt7BEbZe6Wc/video.html
Thanks! I have to check it out one day myself, Maybe on our next trip in Malaysia 😃
@@Chai_Travel yea.. you're welcome. Im Muarian, welcome to Muar. You could ask me if you need any helps
i agree, hitch hiking is not normal in malaysia. unless you know someone.... you are not getting in their car.
Hmmm, I’ve heard differently :) I blaming myself and the spot I was standing. :p
Hi, Chai I am in melaka. If you don't mind I can bring you around in my car tomorrow.
I will be going to Chiangmai in March. I have a business there.
Hi Eric! I'm so sorry for my late response! I've moved on already. Thank you so much for offering that. It means a lot! I won’t be in Chiang Mai in March but lets stay in touch 🤗cheers mate 🏆
The beach is further away from town
The dutch were too far back in history for any lingering animosity. The Malaysians even have forgiven the English and many have forgiven the Japanese too. It’s a small world and let’s all try to live in peace with each other. 🍻
Portuguese as well.
In this case you don't have to forgive and forget. Remember all the sufferings and pain inflicted on Malays back then? And how much blood, sweat and tears to get the country's own freedom and independence.
@@sofiatulhusna5076 Hey, we won, forgive them and moved on. If our Prophet can forgive his enemies, why can't we? Everything that happened in the past made us stronger and independent, its part of the process and you should be thankful. But not to continue to hate senselessly.
Forgive we ought to, forget we must not! Lest we forget!
@Secret Service Bloody oath yes
Most likely you are in the wrong location, if you in the city center mostly will be people going to work.
I will picked anyone with a sign or anyone walking along on isolated road.
Ey Sam, you're right I probably was :) I'll have to try it again one day 😃
You certainly do not live a boring life.
Geheh, you can say that ;P
You had a very horrible experience in a KL hotel, and now you are in Malacca, which has the greatest history of wars in the peninsula from the Dutch, Portuguese, British and Japanese times.
Thanks again mate :) have a beautiful day 🤗
Please come back to Thailand soon, champ! It's clear that Malaysia doesn't fit you, but Thailand does. I understand. It's boring, conservative and just doesn't have that sparkle that Thailand does.
We wanna see more of the beautiful Thai country, it's beaches, Chiang Mai and your wonderful "why oh why" street interviews.
Not sure what indicates that Malaysia 'doesn't fit' Chai' . He appears quite at home there and enjoying his travels.
The only way to build a successful channel is to be diverse and expansive, that apart from an individual's desire to do some travelling and share the rest of SE Asia with the viewers. There is plenty of time to discover other parts of Thailand, Chiang Mai being home base. Trips to the Philippines and now Malaysia have enabled the number of subscribers to more than double and the number of views of the videos created and uploaded out of those countries compared to those out of Thailand are substantially higher, especially the interviews which appear very popular in Malaysia. Smart business decision I would have thought. Anyway that is my take on it for what it is worth 😎
Thanks for you message SaddQ. It's always nice to hear from you. I have to say that I see Thailand as my home for now but I really feel the love here in Malaysia. I'm very comfortable, the food is next level and the people are truly amazing. I will be back in Thailand soon ;)
Dude, nobody hitchhikes in Malaysia. The busses are super cheap.
dude, it’s nothing to do with money…
Malaysia have no culture of hitch hiking, especially for long journey destination, no one is willing to spend two hours to carry a stranger from one city to another city when they are going out for wark or shopping.
Hmm arguably ;)
Malacca have beach? 🤔🤨
Perhaps you’ve been scammed by any travel ads/catalogs…… beach only famous & attractive when it comes to islands.
they have ever heard pantai klebang
It’s called Klebang Beach. Perhaps less than 20 mins away from city center by car
Pantai Kelebang... Ada la kat Melaka... Dia tak kena scam... Awak jgn jd scammer pulak kata Melaka tak ada pantai... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well now I know he is very arrogant. Sorry to bother you, Chai.
I'm sorry :) I don't understand what you mean
