I don’t understand why hey bulldog is so underrated. Its amazing
Because, Jessamy, they had 200 great songs
It's because it's on a pretty awful album that didn't sell well and is full of background music to a movie the beatles barely had a say in... Shame Really this on the white album would of been a true classic
it's because the lyrics means nothing, but it's a good song
I agree with the guy who said it was part of an awful album. Heck it was just to promote their movie. But this song is one of Their most rockiest songs they’ve ever written. Better than most of their early stuff.
Cmd56000 This totally belongs on the White Album.
I love this song because according to Paul, the time while creating this song was some happiest times of the band
That seems right. They had no stress of touring, and this was before rishikesh, so they hadn’t formed the cracks and arguments that they did. They were allowed to be as free, creative, and happy as they wanted.
Good thing, because the months after this were actually the beginning of their career ending :(
@David Hargreaves HAHAHA
Definitely the last bits of them working as a wholesome group. Sgt Pepper had some creative disputes, which came along with John & Paul writing their songs separately 95% of the time, but there weren't any big issues. This was probably the last group hoorah before the permanent cracks were made.
EDeeire unfortunately this would be the last time, as ”the beatles” was in the works and it never really picked back up after that :/
A throwaway song for the Beatles......a smash hit for any other band. Such an underrated number.

Hey Bulldog like so many other album tracks is a hidden gem of a song. Great guitar work; especially the bass line!
Not an album track. The other side of this"45" was "You Know My Name. Look Up The #. Another gem but more silly.
+TheMkarr this song was on the yellow submarine album
Yellow Submarine was a sound track of George Martin music. The Beatles did not own that as an album. Capital released "Bulldog" as a single as well. Read, "Lennon,1980, Ray Coleman". It is a must for all facts regarding the Beatles & urban legend that still swirls around today. Case in point ! I trust Ray was as close as one could be to the "inner circle" for there entire career & beyond.
+TheMkarr yellow submarine is definitely counted as an album
TheMkarr Stfu you moron it counts as an album and has been included in the discography and timeline as an album ever since it was released...
hendrix himself said it. where the beatles led the rest followed, the beatles were the originators,60's avatars,, gods musical mouthpiece...
IF this was the ONLY comment this alone sums up Fab4.. Above & Beyond comment especially the LAST part "GMM"!!
Beatles were great ,alot OF PM Songs are kind of silly compared to HARRISON, LENNON !!!
@James Richards lol they didnt care if god blessed them, they'd reckon they were more popular than jesus and be ok with christianity fading away
Shiggy Spidey When asked how it all came about that the unbelievable worldwide phenomenon of Beatlemania and subsequent huge positive cultural impact happened, given it was so utterly unlikely, John's response was "God made it happen," and George instantly agreed. The audio piece is on CZcams somewhere, though it's perfectly obvious anyway The Beatles were massively spiritual in essence.
@James Richards - I love Jesus... but I knew exactly what John meant... yet look at all the hate he got for it, because people couldn't comprehend a simple comment...typical of why there is so much trouble, then and now... people are too dumb...
The tempo on that bass line.. makes me smile every time. Tks Paul!
I feel Paul doesn’t get enough credit for his amazing bass playing
Yes he does. Read the comment section and realise he probably got too much
Paul's a truly underrated bass player. Just like Ringo is a very underrated drum player
Paul got his due all thru the late 60's and 70's - he won polls around the world every year.
There is not a single bass player on earth who was ever the complete package (bass playing, multi-instrumentalist, writer, singer, looks). Paul remains unmatched and that will probably never change.
@@Cryo837 i would agree but then again there is Pedro Aznar The Argetinian Paul McCartney
@@Mr.Tin_88 With what The Beatles have given to mankind, *EVERYTHING* about them is still severely underrated! It would take bards of their own caliber to sing their song, but from the outside!
This footage is a miracle. We get the actual video of the live recording session for what would make up the final song. This is simply unique for any Beatles song.
Ok but A Day in the Life-
@@arfansthename was that the actual recording of that ?? I thought it was just a video for it... I guess I thought it was the recording then convinced myself it was just for the video...
@@JJSMJ I think that one was filmed on the orchestra session.
@@arfansthename oh yeah that makes sense
All You Need Is Love also fits that criteria.
Still crushing it. Woke up this morning with that bass in my head and had to have a shot of Bulldog. Incredible.
Sheepdog
Standing in the rain
Bullfrog
Doing it again
Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
What makes you think you're something special when you smile?
Child-like
No one understands
Jack knife
In your sweaty hands
Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears
You can talk to me
You can talk to me
You can talk to me
If you're lonely, you can talk to me
Big man (yeah)
Walking in the park

Frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you

Don't look at me man, I only have ten children
Ah ho! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Quiet boy, quiet!
Okay, quiet!
Hey bulldog!
Hey bulldog!
Great to see the words written down. Well done
where has this song been all my life? badass riffing , perfect vocals for the song, and omg that bass
the yellow submarine was a movie too and the soundtrack album is the one with hey bulldog on vinyl
Vincent Prakash tbh
"If you're lonely you can talk to me"..- The Beatles
never trust a Beatle , yet you allways trust the Rolling stones
Yeah, I once lent Keith Richards my 'works' and he used it and gave it right back to me.
This song is amazing.
John wrote it as a joke.
It was a toss-off.
Like a novelty record.
I love the video.
They're totally a group.
It was a joke but it still SLAPS
Rubbish, John actually wrote it as a blues song called 'you can't talk to me', they went to abbey road to do a promo for Lady Madonna, and John said sod that I've got a new song and they worked on it together, it was the last song the band worked on together, he need a break and came up with hey bullfrog and while playing john barked and the rest is history
@@idaslpdhr Paul started barking like a 'bulldog' causing Lennon to change the name and some lyrics.
@@maxwelledison9954 yes, we know this
Rubbish.
Whatever.
All this CZcams posting is a glorified pissing contest.
You're the champ.
Bravo.
もうすぐ70歳です。12歳の時からずっとビートルズを最高だと思ってきた。他に比べるミュージシャンがいない。奇跡のロックバンドです。
John's voice is infectious, Paul's bass is fat and funky, George's solo is mad and Ringo well, is Ringo, good as it gets. That song was punk rock long before punk rock.
Paul is amazing on Bass guitar. I don’t think he played bass until their bass player, Stu Sutcliff, died in Hamburg.
And this was a "throwaway" song. Incredible.
This is definitely not a throwaway. You can tell that a lot of work went into it.
@@user-yz9kz6vt9y Agree completely. I think Paul called it that. Still amazing to me.
@@BrianKliewer well it was music for the yellow submarine film. many of the songs were cuts not used in previous albums
@@MsStevo2000 Many of their non-hits were masterpieces themselves. Other bands would have envied having written and performed them. "The Night Before" comes to mind and is a favorite of mine. The Beatles were incredible and still are to me.
Lol
Can't tell you HOW QUICK I jumped here!!!😍😍😍
If you are lonely you can talk to me! What a great line
This is so cool. I grew up on these guys.
