Hey Gary, comments are deactivated on that vid....
@@joey2471 hi, yes, that’s to stop people from just commenting because it’s not the video you need to comment on..
Hi Gary, I had a reply on a comment I made on this bulova video. The reply directs me to what appears to be an “I like watches” telegram account. The account in question is using your channel graphic…just thought I’d let you know, if it’s not you and you’re not aware already. Thank you for your content, I appreciate it 😊
@@Toph378 Extremely common scam.
Hi Gary, i also got a reply on the bulova video that said i was shortlisted to win the watch. any clue about this?
I don't think Bulova gets enough credit for their outstanding watches and great history. I do appreciate that you are letting people know how good these are. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Glad to see that you are giving high precision quartz a bit of love, because you can't doubt the appeal of seeing that seconds hand move across the dial so elegantly. Cheers, Gary!
A quartz seconds hand that looks like an automatic, and a stunning design! What’s not to love? This thing is awesome
Technically, this Bulova movement does NOT look like the movement of an automatic. It’s smoother than those.
I had no idea a quartz movement could have such a smooth sweep with the seconds hand. That, in itself, I find quite amazing despite it’s large size. Anyway, thank you for sharing and it IS a beautiful time piece! The winner shall certainly enjoy this one.
If Bulova made it a) smaller, b) screw down everything and c) Sapphire, I'd gladly pay twice the price. So much potential! Enthusiasts like us would embrace it - but Bulova seems to be afraid of really taking off again.
The bulova seaking has a screw down crown and sapphire crystal with the precision movement, I own one and it's beautiful.
I really don't get putting in a higher quality movement and not going sapphire. Wrist size and taste varies on what size people like. 40mm seems to be a happy compromise for smaller and larger wrist. I agree 42mm will cut out half your base.
@@russelldow1131 Its not really a higher quality movement per se tho, its just using a new technology. The precisionist is still priced and built at an "entry level" for Citizen group watches like basic eco-drives.
The finish and build quality is in line with entry level eco-drives rather than the higher quality stuff from Citizen. If you want to see a mid-range quartz movement from Citizen, look at the exceeds - not quite at Chronomaster level but a world apart from precisionists or basic eco-drives.
@J R uhhh it's not the same accutron smart guy. Bulova went bust and was bought by citizen. Modern Bulova accutron is quartz crystal cut differently from a standard quartz made by Citizen as the new owners. Historical Accutrons used actual tuning forks l, not quartz.
They aren't the same.
@J R Its not! All modern accutron movements are quartz.
Pre Citizen takeover, Bulova only made accutrons in the 60s and 70s - and those were tuning fork movements. They stopped using the name when they stopped making tuning fork movements.
Citizen revived the "accutron" name when they took over but didn't revive the movements, instead using their "precisionist" high frequency quartz movements.
They did release a special edition with a tuning fork movement in 2010, but these were $5k+ watches and only a few were made.
The vast majority of the modern accutron watches are just using the accutron name but using "precisionist" movements.
Bulova used to make a lot of great looking watches - however lately, near every watch they make has an open heart, or an overdesigned look.
I agree there is an opportunity for Bulova to use this movement in a smaller case, opening this fantastic movement to a wider audience (I just hope their current designer has a day off!)
Thanks for 100 giveaways - they seem to be getting better and better!
Bulova made quite a few watches with this movement about 5 years ago but has dropped all but one or two 262kHz 3 hander designs. I have one of the older Surveyors with that movement, it's such a nice, simple design with a decent case size. Their design direction now is make'um big, garish and ugly. I'm convinced mama Citizen has dictated the direction but it makes no sense why they're taking that tack.
The only watches they have worth buying are from their archive series.
I never understood why Bulova didn't put this movement in more (all) of their watches - it's a real USP. There are a few designs that use it but most are quite gaudy looking. This in my opinion is the best looking one! Other than the retro "steampunky" Accutron, that looks cool too.
their vintage inspired watches (hack, a-10, surfboard, lunar pilot) are all pretty good. new ones....not so much
well aerojet is nice too ig
I love a smooth sweep quartz, the sky-high accuracy is a nice bonus too! I had no idea Bulova made a watch with a movement like this at such a low price point. Thanks for giving it away, someone's going to be very happy 😊
I like how this Bulova gives you the look of an automatic movement watch and the precision of a high end quartz watch.. amazing!
The smooth second hand is mesmerising, automatic looks with quartz accuracy. The perfect combination
I have the Lunar Pilot, but have always longed for the larger sweeping seconds hand found in the Precisionist. Appreciate your no nonsense videos, and nice zoomed in shots of the dial.
Same boat as you. I love my Lunar Pilot but had to get a precisionist too - that second hand is mesmerising!
Hi Gary, well one hundred giveaway’s what a milestone in your watch saga. Well done to you Gary, you have made 100 of your subscribers/patrons very happy.Bulova with a great second hand sweep,it’s up there with the best of them. So thanks for the chance to win such a great giveaway, good luck to everyone else.
I've had a bad week and your videos have brightened it up. The real giveaway is this awesome content!
Love the glide. I’ve never understood why more brands don’t offer high beat second hands, even if they’re not as accurate as this one. I know it affects battery life but I’d be ok changing a battery every year or two instead of every decade if it meant it looked so much nicer and I no longer was constantly bothered by the hand missing the damn markers. They’re already dialing the crystal back from tens of thousands of vibrations a second to one - just stop shorter.
Another great video Gary, I too was one who thought there is only one type of quartz movement,my bad....so much info and knowledge we get through your videos ...
Wishing you good luck and congrats it's your 100 th giveaway ,another reason to celebrate ...cheers.
I just started getting into watches about 4 years ago and it’s channels like these that help me be more informative about watches. Thank you for the video!
Great to hear! Thank you
As the owner of a Precisionist it's my favorite Quartz. That sweep is just beautiful - better than any NH35 automatic, for sure. Imagine if Bulova made that movement available to micro brands the way its parent (Citizen) made Miyotas? It's just a shame so many Bulova Precisonists are so ugly and gaudy. I really wonder who designs their watches.
Agreed. I like this model and just ordered the blue dial. But many of the others are just obscene, like an invicta or something.
I’d check out the precisionist moon chronograph, it’s very classy.
The Invicta designer works at Bulova/Citizen part-time…😂😂😂
That's really nice looking. would make a great work watch for me. BUT, it's too big at 42mm. Bulova just seem to get the odd thing wrong here n there with what they put out imo.
Is it a large movement?
Wrong for who? With an 8" wrist 42mm is perfect.
From a Garry with 2 Rs to a Gary with 1 R well done. I didn’t even know that quartz watches could be that accurate before I watched this video! Thanks for the education!!
Thanks so much for this review. I am subscribed to many watch channels but, until now, was not aware of your channel. I am now a subscriber. I was not aware of this Precisionist movement, so I am intrigued by it. I have always been a fan of the engineering that goes into a Timepiece, especially Mechanical Watches, that require no battery. I do own quartz watches, Seiko, Citizen Eco Drive and a Micro Brand (Kingsbury), Kingsbury makes watches that have a simple, yet quite pleasing look. What has drawn me to this watch is not so much the look of the watch, but the feat of engineering that is behind the Dial. I would purchase one just for that reason. Thanks again for your review.
As much as I love mechanical/automatic movements, I have to admit being fascinated by these high-accuracy quartz movements. The smooth sweep of the second hand and the incredible engineering in a grab-and-go watch is phenomenal.
Man it's just impossible to not like the seconds hand! I feel this mix of black & metallic is just perfect for the precisionist. Great review on a Bulova that has earned the spotlight!
Wow! Just incredible had no idea this sort of Quartz movement existed. Another great video!
Congrats on the 100th giveaway Gary! Bulova's designs are usually a miss from me, but I really like how sleek this dial is. And with such a smooth sweep, you almost wonder why get an automatic! ; )
That's a great 100th giveaway Gary. It's a very nice watch. Bulova is such a historic brand too.
That second hand sweep is absolutely mesmerizing, congrats on 100 giveaways!
I personally love the idea of having a few good quartz watches in the rotation for that pick up and go convenience, especially if they're solar ones. Currently have a G-Shock and a Citizen Eco-Drive diver, both of which are great, and may just add a Tissot PRX at some stage.
Thanks again for all these generous giveaways, Gary. Finger's crossed for the Grand Seiko! 🥹
Sir i never able to wear watch in my life but here you are giving the golden opportunity for us. wish i will be the luckiest person among all the participants. and also thank you so much for sponsoring the watch. where ever you are. always be good and genuine so that god will bless you more in your life. keep updating always so that i can keep in touch with you. once again thankyou so much from my bottom of my heart❤
My personal opinion is this is an absolutely awesome watch. love mechanical watches but do have a special place in my hart for quartz. Especially because of the accuracy so this would take my collection to the next level.
What an incredible watch...one I hadn't heard of before! Thanks for the informative review 👍
Sounds like an excellent movement! That will be a unique piece for sure.
Love the way of yours by comparing the high end item to the affordable one in the precision. A valuable education for my horology. Thanks 🙏
Just began my watch enthusiast journey when discovered this channel and I love it.
I love the high accuracy Bulova quartz movement, I have a Lunar Pilot and absolutely love it....
Thank you for being so generous with your giveaways! These quartz GS pieces have been slept on for far too long
Very nice, look of an automatic. Never realized that there are such big differences in quality and design of quartz movements!
This one's a killer. That seconds hand does it for me! Awesome of you to give away such a beautiful watch!
Im really falling in love with mecha quartz movements.. Something about that sweep reminds me of spring drive 😍😍
Mesmerizing dial, love the hand sweeping it does and the hands in general have their own character.
That lovely smooth sweeping action! Bulova has come up with some pretty good designs in the last few years and with good movements.
love how you did the time lapse showing how smooth that second had was!
100 giveaways is legendary. Very cool watch I didn't know about. A few tweaks could make it a killer, but I'd love to have this one as it is :)
You are so generous! Keep up the good work over there.
The sweeping hand is smoother than 99.999% of all automatic watches. So mesmerizing to watch
Hi from the Bahamas, I just stumbled on your channel. I normally prefer automatic watches but i can't believe how smooth this watch is. Great video.
Fascinating how they come up with these movements. That glide is almost perfectly smooth. Nice one Gary
New at being a watch enthusiast,. Enjoying watching all the comparison and review videos that ar popping up on my feed. Keep up the great work
Plain, yet has a prestige about it. Would agree it is more interesting than exciting. I like the infinity symbol on the sweeping hand tail, but then I am a bit of a geek. Nice review!
One of my favorite watches, is my bulova devil diver. Absolutely love that watch. I also have that bulova. It’s actually out to bulova for repair at the moment, I have had it for a decade. It is a very nice looking watch for dress or casual
Precision quartz movements are just wonderful.
Thanks a lot for this video! I'm in my first year of watch collecting, so learning about the high precision quartz movements surely adds a lot of possibilities. I absolutely love this Bulova dial and seconds hand sweeping smoothness. You got a subscriber! Samuele, Italy.
Congratulations ont he 100th give away! Been watching you since your old apartment days.
Thanks for doing all the wonderful giveaway bro. Appreciate it.
Love quartz watches. This one has been on my radar for a little bit. One of a few Bulova watches I actually would wear.
Thanks for the content,Gary
WOW 100th giveaway, amazing! Thanks Gary.
Holy cow that sweep is sweet. Good luck to everyone. Thank you Gary
Thanks for the opportunity Gary
I'm new to the world of watches and have been learning a lot about automatic movements. I had thought that quartz movements would be looked down on but this just goes to show how wrong I was and how interesting watches are. I love the lol of this Bulova and will have to read up more on its high precision movement.
Such an interesting watch. My first watch was a Bulova back in the '70s that my parents gave me when I headed off to college. I have a small watch collection now that is crying for my addition from the Bulova finally. Great videos and keep it up.
I have not been impressed by Bulova watches in the past. This one is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
Just getting back into the mechanical and quartz watch scene after years of wearing smart watches. Really enjoying your channel, keep up the good work!
Amazingly smooth seconds hand, unusual but very appealing design. Thanks for highlighting this one Gary. Cheers, Dave
Well done, Gary. Fantastic to see a creator including the viewers in things like this so often 👏
The sweep of the seconds hand is just mesmerising. Thanks for the giveaway!
Your 100th giveaway! What a great thing! Congratulations on your channel’s success! Love this Bulova!
Hello and thank you much for bringing this watch model to our attention. You manage to explain quite clearly the working, level of precision and what a bargain they really are. I just noticed that a blue dial version with the 262k legend is rated at 100m water resistance and presently sells in Amazon for $206, certainly a great value! Please keep posting videos, do keep us informed about these veritable time machines.
Very interesting facts about Bulova's technology development as well as that for Citizen, definitely leveraging the vibration of 8.3M times per second must require a good piece of tech! Even though I still think the price of some of the Citizen watches that have that tech are pretty steep these facts definitely makes you appreciate it more! Great work!
Definitely a super cool piece with that sweep. Congrats on 100.
Bulova do seem to make interesting, good quality watches. Thank you for the video.
When I first got into watches a few years ago, this Precisionist was the first watch I wanted! I got side-tracked with Seikos but I still love this design and the smooth sweep.
The sweep is mesmerising! Definitely a great quartz, budget contender. Love and support from India!
Hi there! Still getting used with the world of watches and heard Bulova couple of times and while some of their designs are "uninspired", they are still a great watch brand and from what I'm seeing with this watch, they nailed it! Especially with that movement inside the watch and design wise, looks pretty classy. I love it! Hopefully I get the chance to get this stunning watch and good luck to everyone that joined.
I had not clue there were quartz watches like this one at such a budget. Thank you for sharing it!
Thanks for the great information on this very interesting time piece. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for doing the JUST Because Giveaways. You are so generous and I appreciate it.
Thanks for the chance to win your 100th giveaway! Always enjoy your reviews.
I got a Bulova haq field watch on ebay for $100 last year. It was manufacture refurbished. Can't believe how smooth and accurate it is.
What a wonderful movement, this would be a great addition to my humble collection!
Simple and beautiful. The smooth second hand is mesmerizing.
Oh man that is a nice looking watch. Cool Quartz movement with the sweeping secondhand👍🏻
Been looking for a design with this movement in it that I like… I sort of like this one! Thanks for the look Garry!
I like a good giveaway,👍 Congratulations on the 100th giveaway milestone.
Great work Gary well deserved milestones. Love the watch and the movement.
That is a great way to give back to the community!
As a kid, the first time I saw a sweeping second hand was on a Bulova. The vendor explained to me how automatic movement worked and I was hooked ever since. Now, turns out the guy was totally wrong and the watch in question was an Accutron, but I guess it doesn't matter in the end. Bulova makes amazing tie pieces
Nice work Gary. Congrats for your 100th giveaway
I can’t tell you how many times I have thought of buying this watch and have never pulled the trigger. I have the lunar pilot with a 262khz movement and it’s great.
That second hand sweep is as smooth as butter. Congratulations on your 100th giveaway Gary! Good luck to everyone!
Constant giveaways is INSANE!! 😮 thanks for the opportunity
Very clean looking...black and silver. Thanks for offering it as a giveaway Gary.
100 Gary! WOW!!!
The second sweep of the Precisionist is amazing. So smooth! It is the accuracy that I am impressed with.
I'm so glad I just stumbled across your channel and this video; I've been a watch lover for over 25 years, almost entirely quartz until recently. My oldest - and most accurate - watch is a Seiko chronograph bought in 1988 and it still runs and keeps almost perfect time. So it was refreshing to find a watch channel on CZcams that was proudly not Quartz Snob Central! Subscribed...
Bulova is just one of those brands that have a pedigree but are ignored by many enthusiasts... I myself am a huge fan of the Bulova Lunar pilot! One hell of a do-it-all watch!!
These giveaways are awesome! Great job growing the community!
Wow that movement is insane. I think Bulova is an often overlooked brand these days but this is super cool!
Love Bulova, very underrated. Especially with their Accutron technology.
Well this is a rare gem with an accurate movement for sure.
The fluidity of the second hand on this kind of watch is hypnotic. I like.🤩
Thanks for your videos; they are not loaded with the superlatives of some other FB channels. The frequency of the high precision quartz reverb rate is inconceivable, especially that of the new Citizen !
This looks delightful and I'm sure it would look amazing on basically any other strap. Looking forward to introducing this watch to my strap collection
